QUOTE(Ser6IjVolk @ Jul 22 2017, 01:18) Basically what I'm looking for is something simple like this:
1H Heavy players buy: Power Armor (of Slaughter, Savage preferred) ATK most important stat. High Crit Chance and Crit Damage preferred. Rapier (Ethereal or other prefix of Slaughter) ATK most important stat. High Parry preferred. Force Shield, Block most important stat.
Except for the other play styles. If there isn't a handy guide don't bother typing it out, I can probably figure it out by lurking the Bazaar, I just thought that there's probably one floating around.
actually for 1H you may want other prefixes apart for Ethereal. just saying.

Oh right, I forgot that "too little burden" is actually a thing. Should I take your reply as there's no guide in existence? There's something close to a guide on the wiki, but it's mostly about what you should try to get as a low level bum, it doesn't go into what the best/most desirable types of equipment are.

personally i think that the meta changes so often that building such a guide would be pointless. and at your level you should have a minimum of a glimpse, i guess (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) long story short, you aim for a rapier of slaughter + force shield + power of slaughter build. other suffixes are bearable, but mostly as temporary solutions. savage prefixes may be kept for a while though, especially if balance. first priority on rapier is ADB, followed by Parry, Crit and PABs (STR/DEX in particular). as for shield, Block followed by PABs (STR+DEX+END combo preferred. if not possible, try to have at least DEX or to sacrifice it only for a P-tier block). as for armors, ADB followed by PABs and PMI. Crit range here is so narrow that it doesn't impact too much. don't worry about BUR, even Lmax is so low that you can afford an elemental rapier without reaching 70 threshold. try to avoid Mithril prefix, or to take it only for high ADB. high-tier Mag Savage with 3 PABs may be worth keeping, if the option is a low-tier Leg. as for IW, mandatory on rapier and aim for Butcher/Fatality. something like at least 7 good potencies out of 9. not needed on shield/armors (unless you want to do PFfest), but if you do aim for Jug on armors. personally i wouldn't dislike a bit of Capacitor. then, probably Fire/Holyproof. all the rest is unrelevant. QUOTE(SidZBear @ Jul 22 2017, 01:51) Arctic is arguably the best, if I remember
it depends for what. for SGs, undoubtly holy/dark. for standard arenas arctic is the best only because it can be paired with fire spike, which is the best possible shield for 1H. but in the end just go with whatever you can find/afford. for example, i found this P-tier beauty for only 50k: https://hentaiverse.org/equip/124433511/2281aa2790 (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) This post has been edited by Scremaz: Jul 22 2017, 02:29

QUOTE(Huskell @ Jul 22 2017, 00:26) 1) How do you get soul crystals these days, are there still random encounters and dawn of day thing? The e-h home go straight to the gallery.
2) If I want to make credits should I play in PFUDOR, time per credit? I can last in that mode, but I normally go in Hell to make things faster, but IDK if that makes less credits or not.
3) Is it worth doing these last arenas? I normally go until TT&TT because the others have boss every round and that's very annoying.
3) To complete what Scremaz said, the very last arena is worth playing in PFUDOR for having a guaranteed Mag+ piece of gear in the end. For my part I do all arenas in Hard and that one in PFUDOR. For the two first SG arenas.... POWEEEEEEEER armor+badass 2H or a mighty mage do the trick. EDIT: QUOTE(Ser6IjVolk @ Jul 21 2017, 16:08) Can someone point me to a list of sought-after equips in current meta economy? I know what heavy 1H want, but I'm lost for everyone else. All I remember is that people want Shade and Phase, but what suffixes on them, which staffs, weapons, which procs and bonuses: lost on all of that. Is there a list somewhere?
To cover all categories: 1H weapon => Rapiers of Slaughter, Ethereal to use in a Dual Wielding style, anything else than Ethereal for 1H playstyle. Rapiers because the Penetrated Armor is generally regarded as the best weapon proc on the mobs 2H => Estoc of Slaughter, for the same reason than above. Offhand weapon for Dual Wielding => Wakizashi of the Nimble or Wakizashi of Swiftness, to max out the Parry stat or to boost the Evasion. Shield => Force Shield of Protection, (Reinforced) Buckler of the Barrier. Reinforced Kite Shield of Protection can be appreciated too. Niten Ichiryu => Basically the Wakizashi is the same than for Dual Wielding, except you won't profit from its parry, and your Katana should be Ethereal Katana os Slaughter. Cloth (Cotton+Phase) => It depends on if you want to boost your attack power to the maximum, your proficiency to the maximum (for anti-resist+cast speed+mana consumption purposes) or your defense to the maximum. Maximum attack power : Radiant/Mystic Phase (eqp) of (your element). Maximum proficiency : Charged/Frugal Cotton (eqp) of (your element). Maximum defense : (element) Cotton (eqp) of Protection. Leather => I can't really say. AFAIK Leather is mostly there to offer a compromise somewhere between Cloth and Heavy, so there is no particular demand for it. Shade => Evasion, evasion, evasion. Shade armor is mostly looked after for the Dual Wielding playstyle. So one wants to max out the evasion, and the offensive stats at the same time if possible. So the ideal Shade one wants is : Savage/Agile Shade (eqp) of the Shadowdancer. Plate Cuirass => MY DEFENSE IS MAXIMUM! So you'd look for a Shielding Plate (eqp) of Protection. Power => MY POWER IS MAXIMUM! So one would look for a Savage Power (eqp) of Slaughter As for the playstyle+armor combinations: 1H is best played with Power Armor afaik, but a good /Plate Leather set is fine too. 2H can be played with Power or Shade. DW/Niten is shade, but a decent Leather set is fine too. I think that Niten can be played with Power armor too, especially if your Katana is not Ethereal. If you want an overall idea, just check the highlighted gear in the auctions. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I hope I answered your question fairly well. QUOTE(Scremaz @ Jul 22 2017, 12:46) wakis of swiftness? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Why not? DW is all about speed, isn't it? Yeah Nimble is generally seen as the best, but Swiftness should definitely come second.

DW is all about safety and crits if we want, so balance should come second since it offers quite a better ROI. just saying.

Because it's impossible to reach 100% offhand strike without Balance? I know that for my part I'm already reaching 88% offhand strike chance with a Mag Shortsword of Slaughter (and 100% with a Mag Shortsword of Balance), so I can imagine it being potentially possible with a non-Balance Leg, higher Dexterity and better Shades than mine. While the difference in crit chance between Balance and non-Balance is only 3% (45-48%) in my character stats, whether I use Shortswords of Wakis. In the meanwhile, I'd get the same 3% in attack speed between two Wakis, one of Swiftness, except that it changes from 25% to 28%, which is proportionally a greater buff, and bring a difference in each and every action. Which is far better than a meager 1 hit out of 30 that is a crit instead of a non-crit, ans raises the overall DPS by an even littler value. I'll admit that Balance is preferrable if you confirm that one does not simply reach 100% offhand strike without it, in which case it does represent a consequent boost in the DPS. I'll also admit that Balance is better only for its crits if it really does help clearing faster, which is not so obvious as far as I can see. Though regarding the aspect of damage output, one may argue that Slaughter is better if we do can reach even a close-to-100% offhand with it. I hope that you understand my reasoning behind this? At least yes Balance is more useful for someone of my level (and even more for someone below), but I was talking about high-end, IWed+forged equipment, which is a bit more powerful than what I use. true but no, it's because of the Crit Chance boost afaik. actually with a bit of forging and scaling you can reach 90~92% offhand chance. it's not like it differs too much from 100. not that i'd really waste all those credits just for a measly +2% offhand slashing change though.

I haven't seen it for new equipment, but it was common on old/obsolete equipment. I have some obsolete superior armor (cloth and leather) with 4 PABs.

In this case, it's pre 0.82. The stats for equipment changed with 0.83. Most of the statistics for your breastplate would be in the current superior range. Agility and Evade are at the current exquisite level, and you get 4 PABs instead of 2.

what are the preferred equipment slots for proficiency pieces for redwood/imperil, dark/imperil and holy/non-imperil, assuming good rolls and forging?

those that let you reach prof factors: - 0.67 for elemental imperil - 0.80 for dark imperil - ~1.0 for holy non imperil once you remove the effect of eventual prof perks and staff. basically, pick those values, deduct perk effect, subtract staff contribute, and you'll earn the total prof you have to reach, counting 1~2 slots and forging. kinda.
