QUOTE(Scremaz @ Jun 20 2017, 12:17) still better than those who come asking, read and never reply, imo... a bit of gratitude is always appreciated. it makes us willing to go on with what we're doing, i guess
Oops... Already asked you guys a lot of thinks but didn't thank because I though it would be just a spam. So thank you all for the quick aswers and everything you do to the community. I read everything on this thread while I'm active on the game and you guys rock! And a special thanks to Sapo84 who answered my last questions about mage.

well, it's not like i *demand* for that. nor that i'm speaking for all the other guys around. it's just a personal hint. but imo spamming is something like: post #1: hey, go to this site that i just opened! post #2: hey, go to this site that i just opened! post #3: hey, go to this site that i just opened! ... post #n: hey, did you go to this site that i just opened? quite different from that, since: QUOTE(Uncle Stu @ Jun 21 2017, 18:03) Be polite is never spam. QUOTE(Sapo84 @ Jun 21 2017, 10:58)
With block lvl 14 it should already be better than your current one. So it already breaks even since you can salvage your current one, sell enough HGWood to buy 14 DMM, sell enough HGWood to cover for catalyst and still be able to forge at least to 14.
Every time you upgrade a kite shield you're wasting credits, and the more you upgrade the more credits you're losing. In the long run salvaging stuff is always better than forging bad equipments.
Let me get this straight. A kite shield is a bad investment, so bad that /salvaging/ the kite shield pays for the upgrade of the force shield? Isn't this akin to suggesting that starter houses are bad investments, since all the money put into them is wasted .. well, until you /sell/ the starter house? It's also pretty clear that the optimizations you guys are talking about are at best in the tens to hundreds of thousands range, and thats a value that 300ish players can generate through arena drops/credits in roughly a week or so (assuming you can do an hour of of arenas a day). If the cost of using a kite shield is, at best, catalyst + 0.1*(materials), and the value is that it buys you time to look for a shield a 450+ player won't sneer at, I still don't see the case for ignoring them. This is /particularly/ true when the alternative recommended is a "low block" (i.e. crap) leg shield, which would need replacing with a better legendary anyway. Thus, this class of shields will also suffer the catalyst + 0.1*(materials) use cost.

If you buy a premium kitchen in a starter house... well, it's a bad investment. If the roof of a starter house is leaking obviously repairing it is a good idea. Basically: don't forge 26 levels on a kite, it's not good, you're paying 50k/level for a small improvement on a shield that it wouldn't even take a starter bid in an auction. You can also get a 50k-100k force shield and postpone the upgrade until you have credits (and in the long run it will work better than a kite). It's not like you need everything from day1. It doesn't work like that even for kite shields.

My strategy, as you may have noticed, was to get a cheap force shield with high block. Payed just 400k for it. Reason is no DEX (that's a mortal sin for shields, so it seems). But in the end DEX doesn't make that much of a difference at your level, it's all a matter of many small steps. Only mayor step is when you go to full mage.

And I thought ur strategy was to have an avatar that could compete with Scremaz in the (.) I can't afford late stage melee, much less mage. And I can't get a functional mage + reloader + whatever else setup that would let me spam a elemental spell and also turn by turn deprecate. I like what I do for melee REs with deprecation spells, it makes RE easy peasy and one shot OFC kill, but can't duplicate that degree of control in a reloader environment. and kudos to friggo for talking about melee + deprecate. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Guess I just like debuffing (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I used Weaken and Silence a lot when leveling, and Imperiling is almost like a reflex now. I just toss it out whenever I feel like it. And as a bonus, I have nearly 400 deprecating proficiency without ever having to grind for it (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Mana Draught, Regen ( then Heartseeker if free) Haste ( then Heartseeker if free) Weaken all Hit to Overload 250% Imperil all OFC ?? Profit!

It's not a competition (in which case I would win, of course - Hentai beats RP any day - oh sorry, no NOT a competition) - ahum - I was saying, not a competition. We all do our bits (and please note that two large ones is the way to go) to make this place a happy beautiful place.

That sounds really complicated. I prefer simple Regen (if I'm so inclined, if there are few monster not using it is just as safe and you don't lose a turn) Heartseeker if channelling attack until 205-210 OC SS OFC attack in case some monster survived Arounds 15-20 turns, and it works incredibly well via mobile (fast, safe and easy). Mage REs really suck in comparison. This post has been edited by Sapo84: Jun 21 2017, 23:28

How good is FUS RO DAH or w/e it is compared to OFC? Wiki page doesn't seem to mention anything about it's damage and I've never bothered to try it out as I've heard OFC is simply superior, and I've been happy with OFC for REs. 10s RES give or take couple seconds depending on how things go are nice exp boost.

hmmm... you're comparing a special move with a slap or something like that. only good things about FRD are AoE and stun effect. some higherups (cmos in particular, iirc) reported that 2H can work with FRD, but it's only because it can help keeping mobs perma-stunned, rather than for its damage

I'm-feeling-lucky style Health draught (sometimes I just go naked, no regen, no health draught) Imperil 8~10/10 monsters Heal/Heartseeker if channeling, depends on how much HP I have left Attack to 210 OC, concentrate firepower on monsters without imperil SS OFC

abilities page on wiki, supportive spells, Regen:
tooltip at lv8 says: Changes base mana cost to 65 tooltip at lv9 says: Changes base mana cost to 70 tooltip at lv10 says: Changes base mana cost to 65
but mana cost is always increasing for this spell. could some lv445+ confirm this? or is it only a typo?
