By which metric?
Amount of credits spent?
Full peerless?
An average of the two?

And which type of round?
Arenas? PFFest? Hellfest?

And would you be ok playing imperil or do you find bothersome having to imperil every round?

The answer will change depending on all these factors.

would it be worth investing in a slaughter axe for hellfesT? I usually do pffest but sometimes i don't have 2 hours and need to do a hellfest and i dont think PA has much value in hell. since the ADB of an ax is significantly higher, i feel like it might be a worthwile investment for 1h. I also shouldn't need the parry with 66% block chance.

i have a 90%ADB slaughter axe, do you think it is worth doing?

no, would ethereal have any value in slaughter armor? i have an ethereal one of DW but it only has around 50%adb and i have fatality and overpower on it i think.

it's more due to the fact that an elemental one would add too much BUR. if you're around 70 BUR (let's say maximum 72 or so), it's still fine. otherwise you'll lose too much Crit Chance.

i see what your saying now, an elemental axe would put me at around 75 burden. i'll see if i can find a nice ethereal one.

Less parry, less counter-attacks, less OC, less OFC.
If I had to guess it probably won't justify the cost when you can build a mage persona and be 3X faster instead of, maybe, 1.05 times faster.

but..but.. but i dont wanna mage (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) . i just want to face tank monsters and do big deeps. would i be better off forging my peerless shocking shortsword of slaughter? i don't know if the dmg upgrade is worth though.

can i also get some clarification on counter attacks. what influences the chance to counter attack?

going to hang onto it till new patch, even then i might not sell it. not the most useful weapon now but it is my first peerless and has sentimental value to me.

i know that feeling. i'm starting to think that those who want to go melee for life should stat it in their sigs...

hmmm... i may understand rapier vs. axe, but shortsword vs. rapier isn't exactly a big boost in adb - peerless or not...

QUOTE(jackalo @ Jun 17 2017, 18:08) *

basically, block and parry. it's also hindered by evade and (albeit on a way lesser extent) action speed

By which metric ? well didn't understood what u mean

Regarding credit not too much nor too little decent amount

No peerless

An average of two ? Means ?

Regarding playing imperil won't it take longer for me to finish rounds ? If yes I don't want it

Well I am thinking about PFFest and PF arenas but for now if I can clear hellfest in a short amount of time I will be happy. Well you know need to learn to walk first before running (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)

Cold mage! Ice mage. You know, cast Fimbulfinter with your LARD and Charged Milfheim Robe and Nippleheim shoes.

It's relatively cheap and works like a charm.

if you speak about cheap, then fire mage is the way. ssssssssssss2 proved that pretty much all the (imperil) elemental mages have the same overall performance on PFfest and fire is so undesired that i bet a few people salvage their phase as soon as they see surtr suffix (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

whatever piece of armor, they are all the same since basically you're interested only in juggernaut and boosts are on percentage.

I mean, what you choose depends on how many credits you want to invest.
Fire is by far the cheapest.
Let's take a look at the last auction.

[Clo27] Legendary Radiant Phase Robe of Surtr (483, EDB 95%) (seller: Graduzob) Born In Winter 3m #48

If it were heimdall it would have probably fetched like 100M.
The idea is that you should think if you want to optimize for the best possible result (meaning that what it would be fastest in case of full peerless) or for the best bang of the buck.

For the best possible result it's probably something like:

Holy(*) > Wind >= Elec >= Dark(**) > Cold > Fire

Bang of the buck is:

Fire > Elec = Wind > Cold = Dark > Holy

(*) May not perform equally good imperil style (since no willow)
(**) Very versatile even if can be overshadowed by holy in no imperil and by elec/wind willow in imperil

Holy: best mage proc in the game but stupidly expensive
Dark: most versalite style, expensive, in particular for top equip
Elec: very strong due to Willow, probably best elem style for no imperil (procs adds 2+% of damage), a bit expensive for top equip
Wind: top equip for PFFest, similar price for elec
Cold: good proc but no willow, LARDs are stupidly expensive and even normal equips are not that cheap
Fire: staves aren't cheap (willow not having fire and cold makes redwoods more expensive) but the rest of equip can be dirty cheap even with good rolls

Depends how fast you are when casting imperil.
For sure with imperil style you normally needs less round.

PFFest is a bit nope for holy and dark unless you spend hundred of millions.
For elemental is much easier thanks to shorter cast time.
