What is the alternative method to wear and tear your equipment down to 0 aside from getting KO'ed?

Question about Shadow Veil:
I'm using 1H style and used to spam shadow veil skill at the beginning of Random Encounter. While i read others' posts , they say this skill is not useful for 1H for decreasing the chance to counter-attack and stun.So i tried several times to not to use this skill, but faced big trouble. I was hit by monsters' MP and SP attack much more often and have to cure frequently besides using Regen. I feel it's harder to play and easier to fail and die.
What cause this? Is it because my block & counter-attack chance not high enough? If so, how much block chance should i get to not to use shadow veil?

My Stats:
block 50.7 parry 26.5 evade 0 resist 7.3
counter-attack 47
1H prof 103

Yes, shadow veil is nothing you want as a 1H player. But at your level it is ok to use it, if it keeps you alive. You block looks for your level more than just okay. Im suprise it is even possible wit such a low lvl to reach 50% block. I suggest keep SV still on for a while, upgrade your parry and your PMI and MMI. I guess your PMI and MMI is the bottleneck here.

And PMI 65.3 & MMI 54.1 now. I don't know whether it's low or not.

Ah, shield plate. Completly forgot that stuff. Well i guess for your lvl PMI and MMI is average. I suggest, change slowly to power Armor for damage, lvl up further and maybe try to use right from the beginning a Health Draught as secondary regen for the RE and dont think too much about the SV at the moment. You are still at a quite low level, therefore it is okay for you still to use SV.

i never understood this method, tbh. why not simply picking a crappy one at this point?

I did this too but only with a very weak staff from bazaar. And, go naked with only staff to die, otherwise you will damage your armours

5 Fatality, 4 Butcher is the best you could possible get.

right. as a guideline, aim for as much Butcher and Fatality as you can.
but in case your rapier isn't an endgame one, don't bother too much with reforging - just go for the IW10 strike and take whatever comes.
if you're tight on budget, you can consider something like 7/8 good potencies out of 9 a big success.

I actually use my normal staff and I need 10 minutes to clear like 6-7 IWBTH rounds.
If I equip a crap fair staff I would probably need 500+ turns/rounds, which is already quite close to the limit when monsters start hitting harder.
It seems pretty annoying to go to 0 condition and have to flee every time (while I can just hover for unlimited time while watching youtube).

Should I get IA4? Currently have IA3 w/ haste, SS and SoL, I'm a dark mage and normally buff with protection, shadow viel as well.

so there is no priority whichever Butcher or Fatality first???
for now I'm still using this Exquisite Rapier of Slaughter which took about 4 days to get Hollowforged... (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
I was thinking about what potency should I request if I use the IW service when i got the replacement...
got some rapier in sight for replacement but still waiting for the seller's response...
