I don't understand a thing in the Mind Control Ability.

It say that it will change Sleep, Conuse or Both based on the level of the Ability.

So, the single Mind Control Ability will

1) Change both Sleep Spell and Confuse Spell separately

2) It will add the sleep effect on Confuse trigging one or both when the spell hit a monster?

Also, is the shield good enough to soulfuse? It isn't the best shield ever, but after 5 forges base block is close to Mmax and the difference between my level and the shield level is already pretty big. I don't have very many soul shards, though. :/

soulfusing it won't affect your block too much. it will affect only PABs, but since you already used matrixes, simply forge them to lv5 and continue to use it this way imo.

So, this is my current weapon: Exquisite Arctic Rapier of Slaughter and my shield: Magnificent Amber Force Shield of Warding.

The rapier isn't amazing, so I was wondering if I should save up for a Mag/Leg rapier first, or if I should go for some hath perks, like IA3 or VV?

The rapier is quite good. But at your level, you might want to start saving for an upgrade. Tough call. But if you already have IA2, I would go for a new rapier.

My advice is: save up soul frags until you have enough to soulfuse that, then first do a check how much credits you have and what else is for sale, then if you can't find anything better at that moment, fuse it. You're in the level-range we like to call "deep shit". It's hard. I bought gold star at that point to get out of it. Because being in deep shit stinks.

I got the same problem with my only humanoid, and by judging their stats and the formulas, my rough estimation is that humanoids start to be good only in very high PLs thanks to them being top-tier in terms of parrying physical attacks, while also being in the top tier of both critical physical damage (3rd) and critical magical damage (2nd).

Correct me if I'm wrong.

At your level, if you can find a fusable legendary rapier you are very lucky. If there's a lot of competition, an elemental legendary rapier of slaughter will go for over 1m. If you're lucky, you can get one for less. Or you could go for a slightly better magnificent rapier of slaughter, first.... which would be 100k or so. See what you can get.

A good shield is expensive. Go for realy high block. Force shield is best, even better with Dex and Strength PAB. But I had one without Dex and that works too. Buckler of the Barrier is also possible, but less good as force shield. I'd say at least 1m for a decent shield?

I mostly agree, availability will be your greatest concern. For shield, aim for >36 base Block (the more the better). Ideally with STR/DEX/END stats, but don't sacrifice Block for those. Once you find such a shield, you should also invest in some forging (15-20 for Block stat).
As for Rapier, Slaughter suffix is the way to go, especially if you're planning on soulfusing. Check some shops and keep an eye on auctions. Budget-wise I'd say ~500k should allow you to compete, unless we're talking about top-notch rolls and/or highly popular prefix (Holy/Dark).

let's say that DEX is considered as very valuable, and an item lacking it will be quite depreciated. but if you have limited funds and not aiming for top-notch performance, it's the area in which you can make a decent business. for example, cases of near-P block, DEX-less Force Shields sold for very cheap have already been reported.

I recently bought my Legendary Charged Prada Gloves of the Elementalist. That was because I died regularly in PFfest. The Prada gloves solved that. What I want to say is: use charged if you die too much. If you can survive without it, go for maximum damage. You need to get to that magic 0.68 prof factor, or else the monsters wont die.

I guess the priorities should be:
1. Get enough prof. factor 0.68 or better
2. Don't die - if you do, go charged. But keep 1.!
3. Mo damage, mo damage. Gimme more! Get some radiants! (I'm at 3.)

What are the individual advantages of elemental and divine?
