QUOTE(MysticGohan @ Feb 6 2017, 21:57) Hello
i have a question regarding the choice for a Mage of going for Element/Dark/Holy. What is the incentive in using forbidden magic?According to the wiki as dark magic is maxed out it has the same raw stats as Elemental magic, though it has higher mana cost and it has slower castspeed.
Also about stats / stat choice in general: As for weapon, which suffix shall i use? I currently use a Katalox Death Walker staff. Which suffix shall my next weapon have? Destruction offers a flat bonus to dmg according to the dmg formula Base magic damage = (log(3330 + INT * 2 + WIS , 1.0003) - 27039.81) + (staff_prof * 0.5) + (equipment_Magic_Damage_Bonus) , while bonuses like + dark offer % dmg bonuses ( i assume). So which is better Destruction or Fenrir suffix, or even Death Walker ( which i doubt cause its a grindable stat, though pressumably good early), assuming i will only spam corruption?
Holy & Dark spells have higher base damage than elemental spells, and monsters are generally more prone to Holy/Dark damage. Therefore both Holy and Dark are the only valid mage styles for non-Imperil gameplay. If you intend to build a Dark Mage, your ideal staff will be a Demonic Willow of Destruction. Due to its innate Counter-Resist and huge Deprecating bonus, Willow is the top choice for Dark, Elec and Wind mages. However, choosing mage playstyle is not recommended before lvl 310 (0-cooldown-Imperil) and even then requires an at least noticeable investment to be able to manage the highest difficulties (equipments, Juggernaut potencies on armor, forging, ideally a couple Hath perks as well). For quick and easy gameplay, switch to 1H Heavy melee style with Power Armors and a rapier and a shield somwhere between lvl 200 and 250.

QUOTE(The Original Zeo @ Feb 6 2017, 21:53) *kicks dust* (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif). Alright, fine, i'll go 1h until i get to a higher level :/ good boy. QUOTE(The Original Zeo @ Feb 6 2017, 21:53) The fuck does mage even use spirit for? Not once have i ever used it...
spark at first and spirit shield later. they are useful spells that can save your ass on many istances. for melee, it's used also for spirit stance. QUOTE(The Original Zeo @ Feb 6 2017, 21:53) I thought i read somewhere that for every 100 points you have in a stat, you get a boost in mana or something? Isn't str good for this?
no, 6 points in every stat = 1 base SP. on a general base, it's a good thing. but on a particular case for mages, it's unrelevant. because of... uh, well, because of how the above mentioned spells work. for the same reason, INT for a melee would be almost useless, but since it can prolong spirit stance, then a bit of that isn't bad. QUOTE(The Original Zeo @ Feb 6 2017, 21:53) I'd have to hunt around the wiki to find exactly where i read this tho.
character stats page. QUOTE(The Original Zeo @ Feb 6 2017, 21:53) Already have it (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) . I actually have a lot of hath perks enabled already. So many in fact, that it'd be easier for me to list the ones i don't have: Suffusive Spirt Extra Strength Formulae That's Good Eatin' Coupon Clipper Long Gone Before Daylight Dark Descent The 5x element proficeny boosters Manehatton Project Follower of Snowflake Crystarium IV, & V Tokenizer I, II, & III Repair Bear 1, 2, 3, & 4 Daemon Duality 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 My plan was to buy perks in this order: 1) Tokenizer 1 2) Eminent Elementalist 3) Daemon Duality 1 4 or 5) Divine Warmage 4 or 5) Death and Decay 6) Follower of Snowflake Why 6)? No idea... i guess that it has to do something awesome, since it costs 50k hath (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Also because all the other stuff seems kinda useless, or costs too much for so little gain. in case you'll switch to melee, then you shouldn't need anything else. maybe daemon duality 1. btw, extra strenght, good eating, repair bear are useless. as for the mage proficiency, only that of your element and eventually the deprecating one. give up on follower of snowflake - the only thing it does is to reward you a granted Peerless every time you shrine 10M worth of trophies.

Are people actually able to run arenas / ROB / grindfests on difficulties higher than hell in the earlygame? Cause i can easily manage to get through all accessible arenas on hell. The only reason to switch to meele would be if i could actually get arenas done on Nintendo or higher. So is it possible?

When I was starting out, I was a Dual-wielder until the low 200s. That's when monsters became too strong to handle comfortably, at which point I switched to 1H Heavy and managed to go Nintendo difficulty shortly after. In the medium 200s I was able to take another step to IWBTH difficulty and got my first Legendary drop at lvl 270. But more recently you might find this interesting: QUOTE(Allenchon @ Feb 6 2017, 01:25) After all the suggest to fix my wrong start play way ,
Now are almost reach to lvl 100 ,
and kinda stable farm x10 diffcult for Arena and Random Encounter now.
Love you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Apparently a lvl 80-something guy can manage Nintendo difficulty (x10) rather comfortably after adjusting his playstyle.

It depends on the amount of time you have in the hands and what your objectives are. If by "easily" you mean "managing to do it one way or another" then yes it's feasible around your level at Nintendo difficulty, even though highly dangerous. But if by "easily" you mean "going through the entire thing quickly and without thinking much", you're far from being able to do so above the Normal difficulty. However, like what has been stated before, you're only starting to feel the ramp-up of the monster's PL you're facing (what PL are they BTW? I place my bet for around PL450-500), and as you level up they will deal much, MUCH more damage. Beware of the spirit attacks, some monsters hit much harder than others. Mage in general probably isn't worth it either, but that's another story...
Meh i'm having fun with it, still 38 dark proficiency from Ragnarok though, going to hit lv250 before i get enough (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) . Ty for answer, guess I'll save them for now, probably look in the bazaar more often to try to find pieces around my level.

Hey, i have a question: I've heard that in case of Force Shields the best suffix is "of Dampening". What about this:
Force shield of dampening - block ~50% - STR, DEX, AGI
Force shield of protection - block 98% - DEX, END, AGI
Which one is better? The one with the suffix or with PABs?

Ok, but what about the lack of STR in the second shield? Is it worth gaining some block chance and losing damage output? This post has been edited by Dragon Ninja: Feb 7 2017, 09:39

Strength isn't quite as useful for high-level players as it is for low-level players. QUOTE(abc12345678901 @ Feb 7 2017, 07:38) Is there anyway to reload a script if HV window crashes? Had the close window mid battle, but when i reopened script not working. Depends on the script. Clearing that script's localStorage might do it, but it really depends. (if there's a script that doesn't cleanly resume on window close and open, that's not good)

It has to do with the adress of the page. After a crash, the address is different. I use HV Craclingcast Helper for this, that changes the address to a standard one. Other solution is to manually change the address. Or to add the address that you see after crash recovery to the 'include' list - but that's not optimal, because then it runs outside of battle too.

It think this script is by NerfThis, but I'm not sure. And you can see the 'include' : it's behind the // @include Just use Tampermonkey. Scripts are hell without it.
