QUOTE(gianfrix94 @ Feb 4 2017, 02:14) ^Given this answer, i'm not sure that's right (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) just do the test. only a couple minuted needed. not sure by how much the amount of SP taken changes (if ever), but surely bigger tank means more sparks.

Don't worry, i believe you, i instantly reslotted it after all. Maybe i'll try it out in a future RE too.

Afaik all percentages have always been calculated on base value. That's why Suffusive Spirit has become useless after the switch to 10% of base value (before the 3 perks only worked on the effective value, the base value was unaffected). The change was done in 0.83 CODE Vigorous Vitality, Effluent Ether and Suffusive Spirit now increase the corresponding base vital by 10% instead of increasing the maximum vital by 25%. This makes them more useful since they now affect regeneration instead of just providing a bigger tank. It also increases the potential for HP/MP tank, so the effective max values will in many cases increase. This post has been edited by Sapo84: Feb 4 2017, 03:43

Yeah, both work on base value, just tested SoL, both with or without SP tank it takes 313 sp, that is half of my base value of 626.

Oh, I mis-remembered. SP *tank*, the ability, is definitely useful because you have more SP wiggle room before you get into the danger zone (~70% of base SP or less remaining; easy to stay above if pool is 200%, hard to stay above if pool is 100%). But increasing *base* spirit, and not *bonus* spirit, is not helpful no matter your base, spark takes 50% of base and your pool remains at 200% (or 190%, or 100%, or whatever). So the SP perk is useless.

Would it be better to get DD first before the EE prof perk for mage?

No, I prefer first the elementalist perk then right after that the DD. You need to get rid of all those "50% resisted" first. Perk + 1 good proficiency cloth. DD ads less than 50%. In the end, you want them both. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

When should I switch to power armor with 1H + shield? I currently have high evade with shade gear; does it get wasted with the block/parry and lowers the amount of counterattack (54%) I have?
56.6 - % physical mitigation 50.8 - % magical mitigation 35 - % evade chance 40.1 - % block chance 29.6 - % parry chance 58.1 - % resist chance
Fighting Style One-Handed (void) 19% Overwhelming Strikes on hit 54% Counter-Attack on block/parry

yes, it does, given the fact that evade procs before block. while this gives a boost in survivability while you're still lacking prof and innate toughness, you'd definitely want to get rid of as soon as possible - your level is in the proper range to do so. also, at lv250 you'll unlock the ability "better block", which gives a boost to said stat and it's dirty cheap for what it offers. before that you *may* still need a shielding plate to reach a similar level. or may not, who knows. it's still an option in case you'll have trouble surviving, but i guess the boost in ADB should already be enough. if you're wondering about suffixes, go with whatever you manage to find.

For those with bad ping, I still support my idea of using a headed VPS of some sort on a server near the HV server. Would work best for medium-level melee players.
