Well just keep on doing arenas runs or grindfest or whatever it is you run daily. Its all about luck anyway so you'll get one eventually (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I suggested a few arenas if you're not really doing that many arenas daily

Would setting up a mage persona help? Currently I use 1H rapier + shield so clearing mobs takes a while.

Well yea, its considered the fastest playstyle in the game albeit more expensive. Setting up a mage persona is gonna take a while if you're lacking the budget for good proficiency gear. You'll also need to grind prof staff and magic prof so there's that too. But hey, thats part of the HV experience and you'll be doing it sooner or later anyway (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

You can also do what aria said and play in hard difficulty to finish arenas.

Things you can do are increase Scavenger and LotD / play at least Hard difficulty / grind more and more.

^This is prolly the best way for farming items but sacrifices exp gain and potential legendary drops

Edit: Btw in case you missed it, here's the suggested arenas I added earlier: To kill a god, exile and dreamfall. Also, what's your current stats, gear and ping? I'm curious why it takes a while to clear mobs at your level. Forgot to ask your average t/s after the runs you do assuming you use the reloader script (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Yeah, I run reloader. I've been away from HV for 2 years so I wouldn't be surprised if I'm doing something wrong at this point seeing as how much things have changed.

With your budget I think you have a shot at full mage gear for arenas but we need the expert mages for that here (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

At your level I would've assumed you'd already have at least 6.2k Damage o.o

Wow those are some old gen gear (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) And there's a mix of superiors and exquisites in there too (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) You should be changing to legendary power armour now. With your budget, it shouldn't be hard to get non-slaughter high adb roll ones for 200k-500k each.

And also, you should look into forging all the stats except magic mitigation to level 5 afterwards. Just look it up in the forge page on HV and you should see what items you need to buy from the market

Haha, like I said, I just started again after 2 years of not playing. All my equip is stuff I've either gotten from drops or won in the lottery so I guess that's where I should go to improve, yeah.

I've always been too unsure of pricing and such to commit to buying anything super nice from other players.

I might be biased, but I recommend auctions. That way, the highest possible price you'll ever pay for a gear is a price that at least one other person would also buy the gear at (well, close to it, at least). By trusting the market, you prevent yourself from getting scammed.

The market isn't perfectly competitive, unfortunately, but it's close enough to it in the broad scheme of things, for most gears.

That sounds like a good idea, thanks. I might as well give it a try I guess since these credits aren't doing any good just sitting there.

If you're really hurting for amnesia shards you can just buy them. You already have the credits to afford them.

If you want to facemelt low difficulty you can do that pretty easily by spending ~500k-1M on a whole legendary mage suit.

If you want to facemelt PFUDOR then buckle down and get ready to spend $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

He could definitely get a full legendary set imo, maybe not the best rolled and prefixed legendary pieces, but there are loads of even holy leg pieces that go around from unsold to ~200k in the auctions. I think if you smartsearch WTS you'll probably be able to find all the pieces for a vanilla (ele mit prefix) Legendary mage set for no more than a few mill. Then he can play PFUDOR or have an easy time on lower difficulties, at his level I was PFUDORing and had (and still sort of have) a mix of exq/mag/leg equip (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

mmmm I'm not sure how viable focus staves are tbh. The peerless is awesome no doubt but all that +accuracy feels unnecessary =(

At level 387, and 15m to spend, holy mage (non-Imperil) will probably be pretty difficult on high difficulties, but not impossible. Elemental mage will be significantly easier as well as less expensive.

Or, you might try 1h mage.

The new versions have a lot of safety stops like the hover will deactivate once you go below X % hp. Then you can press spacebar to heal. And then keep going. Once it's set up properly it'll probably be your greatest asset.

Yep. And if someone uses Imperil (and not 1h maging), they should be using elemental.
