QUOTE(nobody_xxx @ Jan 17 2017, 00:17) you remember what sapo said some weeks ago ~ 3+2 build isn't good without high credits spend on gears + perk/damage perk (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) 4+1 imperil is good enough even with lesser credits spend (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Hmm... so 3+2 is a build for non-imperil playstyle then? That means if I'm planning on using imperil, prof pants should be the one I'm after yea? But does that mean I need to max forge the prof since its just 1 prof piece? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) Or will I use a prof staff for a poor man's 4+1 build o.o This post has been edited by -Shun-: Jan 16 2017, 18:47

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) technically , you can use any slot for prof (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) depend on how much your budget (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) but the best slot for elemental mage is shoes for 4+1 (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) This post has been edited by nobody_xxx: Jan 16 2017, 18:29

So was thinking of going dark mage, but was wondering if it would be better to go with dark and light to take advantage of extra 25% damage reduction, explosion damage, and DoT damage and just having a mix of fenrir and hemdall armor? Or is that a dumb idea and should i just stick to 1 magic type from now on?

err , you should use melee now (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) wait till at least you reach lvl 310 to unlock 3 hit imperil (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) QUOTE(-Shun- @ Jan 16 2017, 23:32) I have no clue about how much it takes to reach the minimum .68 prof so didn't know I can still reach it with just shoes (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) although shoes are gonna be hard to fight for on auctions as well @_@ So pants was suggested for holy because of the lack of additional prof from staff compared to elemental staff then just fully forged your shoes and staff prof (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) if still not reach 0.68 than find better staff and shoes (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif)

What nobody said. Also for melee, you can choose between DW and 1h at your level. Although the suggested melee would most likely be 1h so you can handle higher difficulties better QUOTE(abc12345678901 @ Jan 17 2017, 00:41) But i like magic...and been doing fine up to Nintendo so far, don't really wanna do melee.
Enemies are gonna unlock their 2nd and stronger skill/magic @ lvl 200 so being mage will get you rekt when you reach that level and can't kill enemies fast enough This post has been edited by -Shun-: Jan 16 2017, 18:48

feel free. but this game doesn't really award going mage early. either way, it's better to stick with one element only. hybrid builds are another thing that isn't awarded here.

Wait enemies have only been using 1 skill this entire time? even when they use different magic and spirit its the same skill (been hit by skills that use 50% magic and 100% spirit bar so far). QUOTE(Scremaz @ Jan 16 2017, 18:44) feel free. but this game doesn't really award going mage early.

Aww that's a shame, thought alternating between the dark and light spells would work well, gonna stick to mage though, like 1 shooting up to 5 mobs with a single spell (on hard difficulty anyway).

Oh right I forgot that pl =/= level (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) Well anyhow, see how far you can go with maging. Maybe you'll actually manage to reach all the way to 300 just doing what you do This post has been edited by -Shun-: Jan 16 2017, 18:52

it used to be that way. but Imperil made such a thing obsolete. either way, now custom mobs are quite powerful, and with mage setup at such a level either your ass will be raped like no tomorrow or you'll struggle a lot without advancing too much. i suggest you to stick with 1H build for a while. lv310 is considered the bare minimum to start maging, lv~350 a good starting point This post has been edited by Scremaz: Jan 16 2017, 18:55

I haven't died in Nintendo Random encounters vs 10 mobs in the last...50 levels or so, so i think ill stick to mage until things get too hard, besides, in the mean time i can farm gear to use for 1H while maging just in case anyway.

QUOTE(-Shun- @ Jan 16 2017, 17:08) Found it
He was just testing non imperil with flower + vase, this is not how he usually plays (unless he found the flower vase and bubble gum fairies). Anyway, 4+1, 3+2, which is the best slot for *my kind of mage* means nothing, really. You all want to look at prof and then calculate the results of different prof slots. And it's really simple. Do you want to use elemental mage or holy + dark? 1 Elemental 2 Holy/Dark Do you want to use imperil? a yes b I'm lazy so fuck imperil Results: 1a: get 0.68-0.7 prof 1b: get out (BAD END) 2a: get >=0.8 prof if possible 2b: get 1.0 prof Conclusions: 1a + 2a + 2b: get prof perks (it's always useful) a1: depending on staff you need to choose one prof piece (redwood has 2+ prof advantage, nearly the difference between shoes and pants) for a 4+1 setup. Recommended setup may be redwood + shoes and willow + pants honestly it was always recommended willow + cap but it's not enough to reach 0.7 even with Peerless rolls so I would advise pants as the better option. 2a: Willow and Oak are superior to Katalox so I will just skip Katalox (same is true for 2b). I recommend shoes + gloves for dark, possibly 4+1 with robe for Oak (but only if you have everything with nearly peerless prof). 2b: shoes + robe or gloves + pants usually (if you have bad rolls you will need higher prof slots, but the idea remains the same) This post has been edited by Sapo84: Jan 16 2017, 19:19

penetrator, then probably archmage or spellweaver. if you have high enough damage mana conservation shouldn't be needed. i guess... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Always Penetrator at your level Mantra!
Then maybe Spellweaver or Archmage or Annihilator for survival or damage.
Eco needed only if you are poor low level mage.
