Eh... How does the reset cost calculated? Does it increase the more you do the reset?

QUOTE(Randommember @ Oct 25 2011, 00:46) If you are a fighter, then you have way too many AP spent into spells. Pick a path, mage or melee, you can switch back and forth, but trying to be both at the same time isn't a good use of AP.
Also, get protection and cure.
Seriously, how have you been fighting without having a heal?
Only thing I've been using is Godly Health Potions during battle and it's been going well so far. I have to admit that I'm happy about my combination of dual ethereal weapons and magic. Together they seem to compliment each other, but I need to start working on some defense ASAP. Thank you all for your input, this has been more than eye opening. Please keep your suggestions coming! I'm constantly learning new stuff! This post has been edited by brendala: Oct 25 2011, 09:49

If you REALLY want to do that, you gotta dual wield Battlecaster weapons for the hell of it. Throw in an Arcanist Shade set to boot. ... I wouldn't recommend it though.

How do you get artifacts?
I know they drop as random, but is there a way to maximize drop chances? Currently, according to HV STAT, I get an artifact every 1500 rounds or so, and since I play maybe 400 rounds a day (20 stamina worth of arenas at great status) that's about 1 artifact every 4 days.
But looking into another thread in the spamhaus, wher eyou write how many artifacts you get, some get 2 and a few has gotten 5 and one claimed 7. Do they have an abnormal amount of luck, are they playing an extreme amount of rounds or do I have really rotten luck? Or a combination of them? Or are they just a bunch of liars?

The Archaeologist skill in the Training menu increases drop chance. It can be trained up to 100%, but that only means Artifacts drop twice as often (so roughly every 750 or so). Increasing Scavenger should also help as well, as that increases chances of Loot dropping in general (again, up to 100%, though I'm not sure if that means loot will drop in every battle). Of course, training both will become quite expensive, so it's not entirely practical to do so.

A decent amount of training in Scavenger and Archaeologist can get you up to ~15-20 Artifacts a day.

Archaeologist, Scavenger, high level contributes, but the number of rounds you play dominates.
Also, Arenas gives less artifacts per rounds than IW/GF/CF, because arenas have less monsters per round in average.

QUOTE(Ballistic9 @ Oct 25 2011, 03:49) I remember reading somewhere that base artifact drop chance is 0.2% or something (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) If someone could find the base chance with citation that would be awesome.

Right now I'm really pissed off that everyone can get an exquisite katalox staff of destruction, while I can only get magnificent redwood staff of 'WTF who cares' suffix. QUOTE(Maximum_Joe @ Oct 25 2011, 21:48) If someone could find the base chance with citation that would be awesome.
Base drop rate for artifacts should be 0.1%. WARNING: 1. Don't treat it too seriously. There's no guarantee that the chance's still correct. 2. Don't complain about the drop chance unless you've more than 100,000 rounds of data. reference0.2% probably refers to 'rare drops'. Again, don't ask me how to calculate that. reference 1reference 2

Might be loot in every battle. I assume it calculates it based on monsters rather than the same for all battles. But not 100% chance, hardly think that would be possible. But say 15% chance per monster in a round with 9 monsters, that's pretty decent odds that something will drop. Currenly I got 23/50 scavenger, 7/20 quartermaster and 4/10 archeologist. But it's expensive to raise them. Archeologist is the cheapest at the low bargain price of 87'837 credits for the next level. QUOTE((Cheater) Tiap @ Oct 25 2011, 13:02) A decent amount of training in Scavenger and Archaeologist can get you up to ~15-20 Artifacts a day.
Really? That hardly seems possible, even with both scavenger and archaeologist maxed. Possibly if you start at 100 stamina and play crysfest until you drop below 10, where you no longer get any drops. After all, I would class my 23/50 and 4/10 as at least semi-decent, and you can with both maxed at best get a quadrupled chance compared to nothing at all (and I'm almost halfway there and get 0.25 artifacts per day). 15-20 artifacts a day, with them giving hath maybe 20% of the time, with a low average of 2 hath per time, that would be 6-8 hath per day. Apart from maxing out your bonus stat points in no-time and giving you tons and tons and tons of crystals and way more AP than you could ever use up. It is possible, you just need a decent level in both of them (and by decent I mean ~80-90%+ completion). QUOTE(Ichy @ Oct 12 2011, 21:48) Got 23 Artefacts today. Most of theme where hath (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) QUOTE(chivoef @ Oct 3 2011, 21:00) More importantly though, I also got 19 regular artifacts (a new record!) and none of them turned into useless AP!! Wonder if Tenboro fixed that or if it was just dumb luck. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Being a mage also helps. I can easily clear 2000-2500 rounds a day when I'm playing at lower difficulties (and I'm extremely bored).

I fixed it for you. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ... Its certainly help. The 2 bold sentences below are also important IMO, especially the latter. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) QUOTE((Cheater) Tiap @ Oct 26 2011, 01:27) ...

It's not that bad, I'm not one of those crazy people who insist on meleeing. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Some time ago I could reach ~20 rounds per minute on Hard, not sure about now. Things would be so much faster without Wretched Egg and Satsuki Yumizuka. /sigh

In a theoretical world, melee killing speed is actually quite good and I'm perfectly fine with it. It took more turns to kill than mage, yes, and it should be anyway... On the other hand, if there's no lag at all, melee will usually take less time for each turn, so its wasn't too bad. How large is the difference depend on player and the situation. Then, add lag into the equation... Mage = meh a bit slower but whatever... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) Melee = IT BURNS! (IMG:[ bbs2.pramool.com] http://bbs2.pramool.com/webboard/pic/80.gif) I don't really feel like doing a lot of round, like mage usually do, largely because of this...
