QUOTE(MiAla @ Oct 23 2011, 21:34) This is the first time I've ever seen a weapon with seven ticks of bleed. What. And of course it HAD to be the crappy Longsword. I don't think 7 turns is insanely, insanely rare, I see them a moderate amount in the higher level shops and auctions (mostly the auctions). Not saying it's common, though. Honorable experts - I have a strategy question for you. I’m considering the idea of slowing down my experience gained bonus [18 points worth] and dumping those points elsewhere. I don’t really have an idea as to my future, but I’m currently using a dual wielding fighting style with a pair of ethereal weapons. I feel as though the points I want to move would better serve me in skills and not experienced gained. In the end I would think that I’d be a more powerful, well rounded fighter. What are your thoughts?

Health Tanks, Mana Tanks, Focused Auras, Cure, Protection. Do not touch Spirit Tanks and Overcharge until AT LEAST level 150.

Weaken and Bewilder (next tier) are also quite helpful against Rares and Legendaries; a point in Poison wouldn't hurt either. I'm not really sure when (or if) Haste and Shadow Veil start becoming useful for melees.

No one ever seems to have good things to say about Absorb.

I would love Absorb if it worked 100% of the time. To get the most out of it you need a secondary safety net (Spark of Life/Spirit Shield) and Bewilder active as it will not prevent crits. It only stops magical attacks, which are fairly rare right now. The scroll version works 100%, but it still has limited uses.

It's useless as a safety net because it's only 75% and doesn't work on crits so what's the point?
It's useless as a source of mana because it costs more to activate than you get in return and with the scarcity of magical attacks, and the frequency you evade them, combined with the points mentioned above means it won't be triggered anywhere near every cast.
As a source of general damage mitigation its scope is way too specific to be efficient.
Against bosses who do not overwhelmingly one shot you, Bewilder is better in every way and against ones that do, Silence is better.

What are your thoughts? If you are a fighter, then you have way too many AP spent into spells. Pick a path, mage or melee, you can switch back and forth, but trying to be both at the same time isn't a good use of AP. Also, get protection and cure. Seriously, how have you been fighting without having a heal? This post has been edited by Randommember: Oct 25 2011, 06:47

Healing pots ? I would hope brendala had cure in an earlier incarnation of ability points but I'm not sure if that's the first cost of the reset. This post has been edited by Bealz: Oct 25 2011, 08:07

Eh... How does the reset cost calculated? Does it increase the more you do the reset?

Only thing I've been using is Godly Health Potions during battle and it's been going well so far. I have to admit that I'm happy about my combination of dual ethereal weapons and magic. Together they seem to compliment each other, but I need to start working on some defense ASAP. Thank you all for your input, this has been more than eye opening. Please keep your suggestions coming! I'm constantly learning new stuff! This post has been edited by brendala: Oct 25 2011, 09:49

If you REALLY want to do that, you gotta dual wield Battlecaster weapons for the hell of it. Throw in an Arcanist Shade set to boot. ... I wouldn't recommend it though.

How do you get artifacts?
I know they drop as random, but is there a way to maximize drop chances? Currently, according to HV STAT, I get an artifact every 1500 rounds or so, and since I play maybe 400 rounds a day (20 stamina worth of arenas at great status) that's about 1 artifact every 4 days.
But looking into another thread in the spamhaus, wher eyou write how many artifacts you get, some get 2 and a few has gotten 5 and one claimed 7. Do they have an abnormal amount of luck, are they playing an extreme amount of rounds or do I have really rotten luck? Or a combination of them? Or are they just a bunch of liars?

The Archaeologist skill in the Training menu increases drop chance. It can be trained up to 100%, but that only means Artifacts drop twice as often (so roughly every 750 or so). Increasing Scavenger should also help as well, as that increases chances of Loot dropping in general (again, up to 100%, though I'm not sure if that means loot will drop in every battle). Of course, training both will become quite expensive, so it's not entirely practical to do so.

A decent amount of training in Scavenger and Archaeologist can get you up to ~15-20 Artifacts a day.

Archaeologist, Scavenger, high level contributes, but the number of rounds you play dominates.
Also, Arenas gives less artifacts per rounds than IW/GF/CF, because arenas have less monsters per round in average.
