If I have 28 monster slots and buy a gold star the monster slots would be doubled right?
If I want to unlock the 29th monster before I do so, it would be roundup(1 + (N - 1)^1.2) ----->56 tokens
the 30th would be 58 tokens (114 tokens to get 60 monsters when I get the GS)
Instead if I upgrade right now then I'd have 56 monster and unlocking the 57th and 58th would cost 127 tokens, the 59th and 60th would cost 132 tokens (259 tokens to get 60 monsters if I get a GS right now)

So it is better to get the most monster slots before upgrading to a GS right? or is some of my math missing a point?

I don't think the cost changes, stays the same whether you're a GS or not.

On another note, what the hell is happening to the value of Hath? It's down to 4850/e

The community has to got to think of ways to get its value up again, pains me to say this but maybe giving cookies to everyone who has GS was a mistake, but of course people won't agree with this suggestion... What else can we do to fix this up?

The formula is correct. Think like this. There are 100 slots in total. A person with Gold Star earns an "extra free slot" to each one that is open. Thus, a GS, to create monsters 31 and 32 for example, spends the equivalent of slot 16. And so on.

Add more hath perks, is pretty much the only thing that can be done.

I don't like cookies either.

I strongly support creating some sort of hath sink, to increase its value relative to credits and GP. Pay X hath, gain some bonus for N hours, or something of the sort. As is, all the rich and super-rich have all the perks they want, and most medium-high level players have most of the perks they reasonably want and can get. More perks will only kick the can down the road another handful of months; without a permanent hath sink (rather than one-time sink that the perks are), its value will only keep decreasing in the long term.

Something that has apparently been somewhat of a trend in the past: new versions sometimes come out with a requirement to pay for what everyone previously been had by default. Equip repair, GF crystals, level-assignment, etc. These changes are almost universally disliked, but something of that sort to prop up the value of hath could be a good thing for the economy. Making hath valuable is probably the most important practical function of HV, after all.

First thing to do is lower your difficulty until enemies become manageable. If you still die fast in Hell, then stay in nightmare for a while.

Afterwards, if you really wanna stay as dual wield, I suggest you find an average rapier for mainhand and wakizashi for offhand in the bazaar and use those instead of your current ones. If you like your axe, find an average rapier for your offhand instead. For offhand, damage isn't really good so focus on parry for that. If you ever get superiors to drop, the most important thing to look out for are weaps with the highest Parry stats for offhand while getting the obvious highest damage for mainhand.

I know, and I made the tip with this information in mind. Guess you misunderstood it so I'll reiterate it again.

Lower your difficulty. If you still die fast, lower difficulty again.

As a comparison this is how I thought you'd understand:

First thing to do is lower your difficulty until enemies become manageable. If you still die fast (if you still die fast in Hell), then lower difficulty again (lower difficulty and stay in nightmare for a while).

Unfortunately, even Legendary leather is junk, unless it's Reinforced Protection it won't get bid on, even if low level.
