Welp just pass the point where Heartseeker becomes a thing...
After casting, though, I found out it melts a huge chunk of my MP (1/3 of total). So now wondering is it worth it? Or should I throw in investment into MP potion? Or should I use it at later levels only?

heartseeker is surely worth of a spell. but if you can cast it through Channelling effect it's way better - btw, aside from costing only 1MP, as a side effect its duration is buffed by 50%. it has quite a long cast time though, so you'd better call it when you're quite safe.

My rule of thumb is to only use heartseeker when channeling is up. if you get multiple channeling, lucky you, you might not have to use heartseeker on all of them. Else, dont use it, even if heartseeker isn't up.

arenas can drop one of them every now and then. also, 2nd page arenas have a fair chance to drop one of them as clear bonus. the higher the number of rounds, the higher the chance. in particular, they are granted for T&T and above. almost granted for Eve of Death and so on. Is it worth it? You can bet. Without it the difference is noticeable (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Anyway, if you're worried about MP cost, please note that Regen consumes more than twice the MP in comparison. More than half the cost of Heartseeker, but the duration is a fourth.

As far as I know, no. That influences the equipment clear bonus for the last arenas.

Agreeing up front, that yes.... it's a world of diminishing returns. With that in mind, it's still a great idea. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Edit: I didn't want to elaborate much, because you are already outrageously knowledgeable on this game. But to rehash what you already know, don't you want to get the maximum chance to move down the table? Even if it doesn't land where you want, you still got "something". I sincerely say "go for 50", where you know.. even if the deity RNG is being a little finicky, you still win. On unassigned equipment..
I guess just reading the boards, I've somehow developed a negative view of unassigned. I don't remember specifically why though. I can't seem to put my finger on it.
What are the pros and cons of buying unassigned equipment?

arena clear bonus isn't affected by that. random token drops may be. but just avoid to play 1k round at low difficulties and you should be fine anyways.

on 0.82 patch tenboro introduced the level-bound thing. in order to make players replace their gears, he made some major tweaks to all ranges - especially on non-Slaughter weapons/armors. there are some exceptions here and there, but basically all unassigned weapons have weaker stats than 0.82+ counterparts. while the difference may be negligible at low levels, it may become pretty clear at higher ones.
