I have a question about posting galleries and expunging.
-To sum up. My oldish** gallery got replaced*(see below) by me with twice the content. It just got expunged. I see no reason why. What did I do wrong here? Why was I expunged? My old gallery consisted of identical elements (but pic do not repeat of course).


I had a gallery on EDI from Mass Effect 1.5 years** ago, and it was super popular. Never expunged or flagged.
Now, I wanted to add like 200 new pictures, but the *Rules say that I need to expunge the OLD gallery (got expunged in a matter of minutes + Deleted it some hours later) and Create a NEW one with the extended content.
So I uploaded 500MB of EDI and after just less than one day my gallery got expunged.

"compilation" they say in the log.
I checked it on https://ehwiki.org/wiki/Expunging
and I know that my post:
-was not already uploaded
-I highly doubt there was any forbidden content or artists (watermarks might happened, but super rarely)
-maybe 4 gifs were smallish, but not expunge worthy

Some said "duplicate" (but old one was deleted already!). It should not have been viewable.

So tell me:
did they expunge me because they did not like the short stories (2-3 pane long) that were in between the pics ,
or because some of the newest pictures were a group effort/orgy with EDI + other ME' females n males? (Edi was sometimes in the background, not the main actor of a pic)

I am NOT bitching about this, I am just curious why.

The right thread for the question is Wrongfully Expunged Vigilante where you can ask for clarification.

The problem is not that there are duplicates in an imageset, but that it's a compilation. Images that can go in their own official full set should go there instead of being lumped into an imageset, else the imageset will be a compilation, which is against the rules.

It's already expunged, it's not visible. (vigilante and those who do gallery maintenance can easily see expunged galleries, so yes, they can see what you uploaded earlier)

Generally, when someone breaks the rules and their galleries get expunged, the expungers then have a very low tolerance for further updates/bumping (unless necessary as part of something official and ongoing, for instance). If you try to post more than twice a month after getting something expunged, you'll very quickly get on pop9's shitlist and probably won't be able to upload.

wouldn't it be worse to be on either joe's or binglo's shitlist? apart for his big power (which is comparable to joe's or binglo's though) i don't see any particular role for pop9

sorry, i don't get it. i'm not so familiar with uploading things. you're making it sound like this guy at a certain point says "screw it, i do it because i can!" (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

BTW: What to do with those pictures that are like one picture consisting of a 5-6 picture long comic?
Not 4-koma but similar. Something like Korean manhwas. Do those count to compilation if a plot ends on the same *picture?

actually it gives 50% with scrolls. not double of standard spell, but almost.

pop9 is pretty much the main expunge person, he expunges with 40 power (non-vetoers have only 30 max), has access to officially deleted (!) galleries and so can see more than nearly everyone, and lurks the New queue pretty much constantly when he's awake. And he really really hates people who don't understand the rules. Lurk the Expunge tracker, you'll understand.

Joe and Binglo are the official tag/gallery mods here on the forum, so when someone posts a thread here they'll be the ones to look at it, but they don't really work on expunging.

Yes, one rule of thumb is - if it has more than a single panel, odds are very high that it shouldn't be in an imageset (or at least not one this general). For those you linked to, they probably should go into a 3d gallery by the creator, if there is one.
