Following these guidelines, I can one-shot most mobs with OFC when they hit the ~130k threshold. Which is fine, seeing as I need to generate Overcharge anyway. I usually see mobs with 50k to 180k HP, so I just attack the stronger ones until they get down to <140k and move on to the next one. OFC cleans them out at best and leaves a few stragglers at worst.

In REs is better to hover around all of them, to stack a bit of PA on every monster, then OFC (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
In arenas just ofc at turn start, waste of time to do anything else (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
Just SG need a bit of attention (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

200% Hit is never miss, but you could still get parried, and monster got bonus resist&parry on PF difficulty.

Counter-resist reduces all monster resist from all spells.

So, I've been trying to follow (some of) the guidance in the Advice Wiki page, but not seeing how to accomplish it. And I also see many people in the "Show us your stats" thread that clearly *don't* follow some of advice, and seem to be doing quite well.

In particular, regarding stats, the Advice for Melee Builds has this:



Stat Equal to Priority

STR Level + a bit High
DEX Level Mid-high
AGI Level ± a bit Mid-low
END Level + a bit High
INT Level * ~0.7 Lowest
WIS Level Mid


But I don't seem to be able to meet this distribution. Are there any methods to improve your stat gain, or is it just 1-1 experience toi stat points?

And on the ignoring advice front, I have started down the road to soulforging a shortsword, and sunk a lot of my resources and credits into upgrading it. I have never gotten a rapier drop, though I did just get a long sword for the first time, so maybe it's coming. Would it make sense to invest in this further?

Don't worry too much about it , your gears is more important that Pab (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)


You will need to find rapier sooner or later on for 1H (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Just max it lvl to get void/elemental strike if you find rapier weapon & don't upgrade it if your rapier grade is not magnificent , legendary or peerless (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

that suggestion is quite deprecated. for a melee build you can keep STR = DEX = AGI = END = WIS >> INT

depend on how high your ADB , , damage perk , crit damage ( if your OFC get crit hit ) and OFC perk (x2 damage ~ 2nd most expensive perk in HV so far ) (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)
