Pretty much nothing outside the first levels of IA, Postage Paid and Vigorous Vitality is as good as DD so definitely go for it.

well , actually I usually train my staff prof with IWBTH FSM and after 1500 turns , FSM attack really eat my SP alot (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

that hit already with weaken + silence + blind on FSM (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
I use staff + heavy armor here (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

Your insane, killing Konata with a staff is boring as hell, also Konata give about 0.66 prof so FSM is total overkill.

Maybe for you, if I hit monsters at near 4 t/s I'm lucky to gain more than a couple points in 30 minutes. Prof gain is very rare when near the cap.

Was thinking of picking up mage since I've reached my third IA and have most of the gear for it. Only question is how to work on the prof.
I heard IWing crude equipment is the best way, but on what diffifculty should it be?
I also heard the gear needs to be 1% condition.. why so?
To gain the fastest prof with both staff and cloth, do I have to be equipped with a full crude mage set?

It depends on type of profficiency.

Staf: bang your staff on the head of monsters in crude IW on IWBTH.Here, your staff should do almost no damage. So 1% condition. And crude, but I use average, works fine. Keeep banging on their heads untit they get too strong then flee. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.....

Element/dark/holy: you can play 1h mage for a while, with a nice buckler of the barrier and a waki of the battlecaster. and 5 phases. That works. Or just start maging already, and work up from easy to PF. No need for bad condition gear.

Deprecating: you can grind by spellspamming 'imperril' on a crude IW on normal, and flee when mana is too low, then use 'restore all' to use only draughts, then repeat. And again. And again... No need for bad condition gear.

IWTBH is fine, if PXP is close to 103. or Nintendo too
or Normal T&T.

where did you read that? it doesn't really need to. it's only masochism, if you have too little ADB rounds will last longer and there will be a higher chance for mobs to hit hard even on such battle mode. simply purchase a very low PXP Crude from bazaar, IW it and when you're finished trash it and repeat.

you don't need to do anything for cloth. offensive spell will raise by using it - but unless you're using a prof piece you may find more useful to spam T1 spell only, at least for Holy/Dark.
for staff, uh... i used to equip Leather armors in order to boost my defense a bit. then i reached 150 and stopped because i grew really bored (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

I'm also not sold on the 1% condition, sounds dumb to me, 10 rounds of crude IWBTH IW are good for 15 minutes of staff prof, and you can do that whenever you want.
Compared to:
- switch out all gear
- go with staff only and lose 5-10 times
- equip clothes again
- gain staff prof
- spend scrap wood to repair staff

Grinding depr prof also sounds like a pretty bad idea and a bad use of time, no need to grind something you normally use (and increases by itself with 0 effort).

Well, it took me more than a couple of hours grinding while watching TV to get from 0 to 410. Good combination for me: football match + staff grinding. I actually use a separate persona for this, so I don't have to change gear. This persona has very low strength, but wears heavy plate armours. Rounds take very long. Usually, I get to 300-500 turns per round. I like that, because every time you win a round, there is a chance of a pony-riddle, and you need to pay attention for that. Not good when your team just scored.

if im using full legendary phase and staff, what proficiency should my staff and element be at till i can do the first couple hundred hellfest rounds relatively safe and quick. right now both staff and elemental is only 90. i have tried hell and it is incredibly slow and dangerous right now.

Rounds take very long. Usually, I get to 300-500 turns per round. I like that, because every time you win a round, there is a chance of a pony-riddle, and you need to pay attention for that. Not good when your team just scored.

Less rounds that it would take for non-broken staff (remember than you don't need to use your best staff, a crappy one with low damage is enough) + clothes. Heavy, even plate, adds a visible amount of damage.
And with the above combination you get the added bonus of raising cloth prof.
I had cloth prof maxed before divine prof that way.

Just do arenas while switching to higher difficulties when you can handle 4 monsters per rounds without needing cure.
When you can do IWBTH/PFUDOR arenas you're probably ready for fests.

Yes. I had to drop down from IWBTH to Nintendo because I was doing too little damage and didn't care enough about the tiny cost/time of additional EDs spent. You want generally low damage, but that's enough, and you don't necessarily want miniscule damage.
