Combined with OFC it's the best
Usually in SG arenas I do this: Start Round -> Imperil -> 1/2 hits to stack some PA -> OFC

1. yes , most of bazaar equipment is from lvl 400+ , finding good equipment at low lvl is very hard now (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

2. you should use melee at low lvl , mage is better when your lvl at least reach 310 ~ imperil x3 ~ but I think it's better when you reach 350+ to use mage style (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

3. err , reduce your STR than increase DEX and AGI (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
you should use 1 type of phase suffix ~ do not use fenrir + mjolnir + niflheim (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)
use all fenrir and combine it with demon fiend cotton prof (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)
blast imperil than use disintegrate > corruption

but you maybe need to increase your depre prof first (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

1. Yes I noticed. It wasn't always like this though. Its definitely not a change I appreciate.

2. Look at my proficiencies, I've been a mage from the very beginning (few years) because it was an option. I kind of feel like its a bit late to switch to melee now, given that I have absolutely no proficiencies in it - and cannot acquire any decent melee gear through the bazaar.
With the new persona system I went for a two handed, heavy armor melee but I get obliterated by the high level mobs while I have no profs.

3. The unmatching phase suffix is due to issue #1 with Bazaar EQ being useless since the update. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I have matching gear but I cannot equip it until my cat learns to do dragonshouts (until I'm 400+).
'Blast imperil, then use disintegrate > corruption': I only have smite, imperil isn't unlocked yet I guess.

Because the Bazaar sells only equipment I cannot equip due to level requirements.
I could have a billion credits and would still be stuck with the same gear due to the fact that any good gear found in the bazaar can never be equipped until you're 400+ (which I am not).
And I am virtually never in the forums (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) there's no trade option inside the game itself so I never did any community buying stuff, if at all possible.

I've always played a mage in any game I've played. With mage being an option, I went mage from the very beginning. (As you can probably tell from my proficiencies).
I started playing a few years ago and assumed that any class is a viable option at any level.

yes and yes, but at your level the void strike at the end is all that you should care about.
Far after level 330 you might wanna start bother with specific potencies and well after 400 it become mandatory that you get good IW results out (monsters tend to have more hp the higher your level, so better iw results, the faster and more efficient your clears).

D&D on PFUDOR gives guaranteed mag+ equipment and best exp per stamina (except RE of course), but thats things you shouldn't care (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

If it doesn't take ages and you're in need of better quality equipment, yes. The clear bonuses of RoB are near the best in the game.

But the equipment bonus is pretty much the only benefit.

I am finding 1H to be a lot easier than DW. The shield bash is really strong and overwhelming strikes seems to kill stuff just as quickly as DW. Am I missing something or should I just continue like this?

right. but consider the first 25 boost until +25%, while the last 25 will provide you a further +8%. personally i'd be happy enough with first 25

Yep. Everything other than straight physical/magical damage can hit 50 at max Forge Level, it seems.

So there is no need to stack Imperil and Penetrated Armor? I always try to keep the SGs and higher Imperiled, thinking that doing so made a big difference. Well, I am still off to a good start on Deprecating Proficiency.

melees will find it useful only with very tanky mobs. ie SGs on the last arenas or FSM if you really want. all the rest can be dealt with even without.
and even in those cases, it's only a matter of sparing a bit of time.

Since I'm using Wind element, I picked the Frost Spike ability since that reduces Wind resistance. Is that right?

Arcanist is the worst suffix for shade.
Int is useless, wis is almost useless to raise above a certain value and you lose resist/evade/evade+crit from negation/fleet/shadowdancer
