Ariallinnoc certainly is not a low level player hardly in need of an obsolete low level equipment. Low-level, either leather or heavy armor works, I don't think there's much of a difference, just because monsters are so pathetic. But as you level up, heavy armor will gradually become more annoying, due to increasing spell costs and more buffs that you cast - the disadvantage of heavy armor's high Interference grows. Once a player is past level 200 (which is when you get Heartseeker, which costs a ton), I think leather armor is the best choice for the next ~50 levels.

Heavy is also at a slight disadvantage past ~180 due to higher PL monsters - magic SP attacks can near oneshot you on higher difficulty, if not resisted, and Heavy has 0 resist.

So if I were you, you can keep using heavy if you want, but switch to leather soon, preferably before level ~170.

(Heavy armor eventually becomes better than leather again, past ~250 or so, due to the ADB advantage of Power armor, more built-in tankyness from level scaling, and higher AP in Spirit Shield)

Is there a minimum to deprecating prof we just need to reach or should I keep increasing it whenever I can? Managed to get silence and something else now since I read that its needed on the strongest bosses later

reach imperil, and past certain level the only useful depre spell is imperil.
proficiencies? if you regularly use it you wouldn't bother with proficiencies, it will maxed out eventually.

Imperil is only useful for mages.

And Silence is still useful for FSM and the Tree. I also use it on Konata & MBP because killing them with a stick takes so long.

Guess I'll keep on using weaken and imperil to up the prof.

Tested 1h + leather on hell RE. Took way longer to get me near death but my heals are less effective. Not sure if its enough for Nintendo RE tho. Might get to finish nightmare arenas on those 70+ round ones at least.

So there is no need to stack Imperil and Penetrated Armor? I always try to keep the SGs and higher Imperiled, thinking that doing so made a big difference. Well, I am still off to a good start on Deprecating Proficiency.
