I got used to just using silence, it simplifies things, and wastes less turns having to rebuff weaken + bewilder. I tried both against FSM and silence just seemed better by far. Against normal mobs on high difficulty though, weaken is very nice to use.

I never used silence again ever since I got spirit shield. However, weaken and poison are still good for bosses.

Did some tests on a Dalek on IWBTH.
Bewilder seems to raise damage output by 10%.
I assume Weaken does something similar.

Average damage without Bewilder: 2470.06HP per hit (sample: 100 hits)
Average damage with Bewilder: 2709.79HP (+9.7%) per hit (sample: 133 hits)

No. Nor Arcane Focus.
Just spammed Lightning over and over.
I was on Normal status, but I doubt that matters.

Is it just me or is everything Hitting really hard. I find myself having to heal every round. and my Magic proficiency doesn't match with my statistics.

Yes. This patch makes monsters hitting harder, but still manageable. Maging at low levels appears to be pretty tough.

Although this patch probably still need a little bit of tweaking, the way it is now is way better than before melee got their first boost (and mage still broken). Playing melee basically mean that both you and the mobs take turn sneezing at each other until either all the mobs die or you fell asleep... It took ~4 time as long playing on Heroic compared to playing melee on Nintendo today.

On the other hand, anyone who reached lv.50, have 22 AP, and not a masochism can simply get Meteor + 20% fire rating and then go facemelt everything in IW ... leaving melee to smell the ashes that they left behind.

I am relatively a new player lol so I can't really compare to the previous patches.
Do you think mage is still better than melee?

High lv mage seems to say they still are. My answer would be that I honestly do not know... And this is a good answer if you ask me. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

I've been trying out this mace http://hentaiverse.org/pages/showequip.php...;key=ff9b989323
with the same setup I have in my signature. While the stun and damage certainly is nice, I really miss my shield (especially on the higher difficulties).

So my question: What about clubs? How do they compare to maces?

I could equip a shield with it and not feel as naked as I do now.

from what i've read from all the high level mages it sounds to me like maging is basically wearing a beer hat filled with mana potions, and having 30 beltpouches with mana potions, and just ramboing everything while constantly sucking down the potions as fast as possible unless you want to stop and take a break by tieing up one enemy and stabbing him with a straw to suck mana out of him over the course of a long time instead of guzzling pots.

Meleeing is far slower, but seems to cost less in item use.

So if you just save up all your drops from early and mid levels, once you get to higher levels where maging is good, you can just strap them all onto yourself and have at the enemies in (wizard)berserker mode.

*I am a melee, and probably won't go mage anytime soon even if it is more viable, i do not have personal experience with the subject of maging. I am not a referentially valid source of knowledge on that subject. AKA, [citation needed]

That mace seems familiar to me (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
What is your 2H proficiency? Remember you have parry as well.

Parry is good, but block is better. Because with shield you also have a chance to stun the monster when you've blocked its hit (and since the last patch stunned monster takes 2x damege) plus you have a chance of counter-attack.

Anyone know what power level your monster has to be to bring you high quality materials? My leprechaun princess is at level 157 right now and she usually gives me medium quality and sometimes low quality mats.

YOUR MONSTER TAKES TOO LONG TO KILL.

Edit: Also, I'd like for you to rename your monster to something more appropriate as Giants =/= leprechauns.

Ahem.

I was actually thinking I'd start using Haste over Shield, as faster turns = more regen ticks = more stun procs before the enemy moves = less chance of the enemy ever landing a hit on me = more hits I can get in before stun wears off.

Edit: My 2H prof is 103.13 atm, and my light armor prof is...96.02 (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)

I agree with you on the haste bit. What is your parry?
