Can I ask one simply question about WTS/WTB section? Why, in a name of logic and simplicity, people, when they sold something or bought whatever item they want, - do not remove string/entry about that from post? Okay one man want to buy, for example: 500x Scroll of the Gods 300x Scroll of the Avatar
Another one sent him 300x Scroll of the Avatar for nice price. Now we have a shop with this entries: 500x Scroll of the Gods 300x Scroll of the Avatar
Just... why? Why not delete this entry about "Scroll of the Avatar"s from WTB?
Or the more strange thing in WTS section. 1/3 of shops looks like: Here you can buy: 500x Scroll of the Gods 300x Scroll of the Avatar
So, does it mean "you can buy Scroll of the Avatar in my shop when I have them"? If it so, why you just not remove entry about it and put offer to buy scrolls when you actually have them? It is like I will open my shop now and put: Binding of slaughter x 9999 (unlimited supply) Like "ohh, you know I am able to have this binding any time soon, visit my shop just to know that you can buy them sometimes, I guess, in near future"... Come on, why you need to use strikethrough in WTS/WTB? Do I missed something?

Speaking for myself and lots of other lazy people, I strike it out because that's easier than deleting it, and keying it in again later (plus remember the price I set for it)

Because its faster (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) When I need something again I just ctrl+x from the strikethrough pool and put it somewhere above.
Just treat strickenthrough text as if it was deleted
In this case why not delete it all? =(

But is is market - prices sometimes changes - if I would like to sell same stuff again month later - first I would check a adequate price for it, by roaming other shops and their prices...

It means the buy/sell offer once existed, but it's now completed.
Thats a differences o_o for me if it is strikethroughed it does mean "nope, sorry havent got this now, move away", so dealing is completed.
I am not trying to fool anyone or troll, just I am really dont get why we need to strikethrough... If you have some scrolls and sell them all, but would like to sell more sometimes later, do like this: "Scroll of the Gods @ 350 (out of stock)" and when you got more scrolls to sell do "Scroll of the Gods @ 350 (stock: 390)".
Nahh... I just feel it is non-right to strikethrough >_>

even some people dont check their own WTS /WTB thread
its relies a moggle mail from the buyer for WTS.
You think it might be because searching through Control Panel for new posts is tedious?
The forum has nearly everything, including &view=getnewpost, but for some reason they stopped a half centimeter short of making the thread tracker easy to use... I don't know how I endured the default control panel for so long...

Strikethrough is easier to do and easier to read + there is no sense in deleting something you wrote yesterday
There special scripts for checking how full your inventory is made by FabulousCupcake, named "Equipment Count Indicator" and "Show Equipment Count" - check them =)
QUOTE(FabulousCupcake @ Mar 7 2016, 09:04)
You can use this to see your equipment count. It shows live equipment count and warns you if it is above a certain threshold ( which I think was set to 995 ) by default.
useful as well. probably even lighter since they should only be a counter.

Not possible with Reloader 1.3.2b at the moment... [...] But then again, doesn't work with reloader...
aecce fregaturam. it seems an universal solution doesn't exist, isn't it? at this point probably i'd better installing Reloader and keeping to click the popup - manually keeping track of the drops like i always did (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
P.S. Man, your "logic" have no sense if you dont think at all rolleyes.gif
Ohh, come on =) I really dont see any point in strikethroughing, no matter what argument everyone provided - I see it is pointless and better to delete stuff you dont selling right now or dont want buy right now =(
I guess it is all about personal preferences and I am in minority here >_>

Would you rather re-write 10+ lines of inventory every single time you deplete your stocks and regain them gain? No, no one does. So we use strikethroughs (or just put "0" for quantity).
For instance, my WTB has this struckthrough:
QUOTE
Primary: I have:
Crystal of Cunning (200k / 140k) Crystal of Knowledge (200k / 140k)
I need:
Crystal of Vigor (16k / 140k) Crystal of Finesse (41k / 140k) Crystal of Fortitude (85k / 140k)
Mitigation: I have:
Crystal of Tempest (330k / 230k)
I need:
Crystal of Flames (156k / 230k) Crystal of Frost (150k / 230k) Crystal of Corruption (156k / 230k)
Do I want to re-write that whole damn thing with all its careful [ indent] and line breaks and spacing and listing every single time I happen to have enough of a difference that I want to trade more? Hell no.
I agree that, in a WTS, "Scroll of X (300)" is not good. Better to put "Scroll of X (0)" or "Scroll of X (0)" or "Scroll of X [0]".

If you start selling things regularly in a shop, you will understand in no time.

I'm with you for some good reason. Too bad nowadays i do tapity tap & slidity slide.

availability for certain items may be limited in time (i think about SG trophies, just to name one: you can list them only when you do a certain amount of arenas and hoard a few of them) and re-typing everytime that list will be hell already, even more if you have to re-customize everytime like latanium said. even storing all those infos in another post won't work since they will still appear in Search results. at this point, simply strikethrough them and game's done.
it's not like you're in minority, you're wrong or whatever else. it's simply a matter of optimization. if anything, you lack a bit of WTS experience. everyone at a certain point was surely annoyed by all those strikes, but if they started to run a WTS they understood pretty quickly that assiduoud updates weren't possible and rebuilding those lists everytime is only a waste of time

I am serious, you don't thought about reading text (graphical strikethrough is quicker and easier than checking whether its 0 or not) and writing (rewriting text with color/size is strange thing to do + if you're selling equipment you may want to have log with links and don't want someone to be confused), you just make it personal and call it logic (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
I guess you all right in a fact of process optimization in case of items, but to be fair:
QUOTE

I do. Really, I will rewrite all code for new items if I have some... o_o Look at my compendium - I made it from the scrap with plain code and still updating... xD
But, yeah, maybe I am a little... erm... a lot harsh because of:

, but I am still dont think it is right, sorry anyone... >_>
But tell me why need to strikethroughing equips you sold to somebody? You have legendary heavy now, you sold it, you dont have it now, - why you still keep it in shop (even as strikethroughed)? It is not scrolls, food or infusions you can simply restock in a process - just delete this gear...
And it is waaaay offtopic here xD I understand that it is all about optimization and time-save, but I still think is not necessary and ... erm... ugly. Sorry, dont want to offend anyone.
QUOTE
you just make it personal
