What exactly do the Spirit Tank and Overcharge boost abilities do?

I suppose having a higher overcharge % makes your spirit attack hit harder? What is the point of spirit tank though? Does your spirit regen more quickly if you have a higher maximum? Both stats are completely drained when you use your spirit.

I can actually answer this!

If I remember, every +3% overcharge you have in a battle increases your ADM by 1%. So, if you had all the Overcharge Perks for your level, you could get 150% overcharge = +49.5% ADM (as opposed to +33% from 100 Overcharge). Unfortunately though, you need to get the Spirit Tank upgrades first (and more Spirit Points, in conjunction with overcharge, gives more spirit attack damage).

Now, I don't really completely know what I'm talking about, but I would say that it should be feasible to get the overcharge bonuses once you hit higher levels, where ability tiers come less frequently (although, since I have no experience in the matter, it's completely possible that the abilities cost more ability points to get then).

5 AP until I cap my Overcharge @ 270 (and I'll get 10 more @ lvl 250): overall damage increase is pretty noticeable. And I'll definitely NOT run out of spirit EVER (except for that 50 Legendaries runs, I guess)

Your soul attack does drain all spirit points, but it does damage based on how many spirit points you have for it to use, combined with the overcharge.

Also, there is a high-lvl spell called spirit shield, which will drain spirit points for hits that might otherwise kill you.
But I think that works from percentages, so a bigger number of total spirit points wouldn't really affect it, probably even weaken it since a larger pool with the same regen means it takes longer to fil it up.

It probably is possible.
You also have to remember that you can get a bonus 100 ability points from the trainer.

If you put points into hp tank, mp tank, spirit tank and overcharge, and max them out, then by lvl 250 (tier 18, highest) it would cost 252 ability points. Add in the bonus 100 from the trainer, and you got 98 points to spare for curative, supportive and deprecative spells. which should even give you some change to put into resistances.

That is for a melee of course, a mage would need to put points into offensive spells, but then they don't really need overcharge and spirit tank

You will never have a chance to run out of spirits if you've clicked all the spirit tanks, even on legendary runs. Normal difficulty, of course.

You're totally wrong on spirit shield. The amount of SP drained depends on base SP.
Also, do you know how much credits you will have to spend in order to get 100 AP from trainer?

Seriously, please refrain from saying anything you don't know/you haven't accessed yet.

15 schoolgirls and 0 trophies so far. Awesome.

At least it got considerably faster after equipping a couple of crappy Heimdall pieces.

Wait, how many APs did you have in Mana Tank when you tried maging?
That might explain why you were constantly running out of mana.

Don't think IA3's that good for mages. Spirit shield is not costly to cast, and unlike melees we have only 2-3 turns per round, so IA3 won't be that useful in terms of mana conservation. Besides, if you can blast through arenas without IA3, why you would bother to get that?

I didn't expect it'd save me much mana when I got it, but it actually did. I guess the turns spent on buff recasting/channelling add up. Mostly though it's convenient having less overhead. IW's smoother, only need to refresh Regen2 (and AF once @ round ~200-ish).

Suddenly I remembered a question to ask.
Did you guys use full debuff on schoolgirls? Or which spells you're using on them?

Slow + Weaken + Bewilder (+ Nerf if they have Coalesced Mana)
Maybe it's overkill, but better safe than sorry. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Okay, since I've found that XP Tank does nothing, does Adept Learner training work? Got 15 levels in it already, and want to know if I should persist.

[shit nobody cares about]

Last time I tried using Heavy (before 0.6.0), it's better than before but still way behind light armor... Admittedly, I haven't test it again after that point and assume that nothing has change since...

It seems that I was wrong. The last patch make Heavy way better than the last time I tested it. Although still plagued by the same problem as before, it's not as severe as it was and now it's actually quite usable. I still like my light more, though, but it sure bring back my interest in Heavy and warrant further testing on this.

I've forgot to ask: does anybody know the time period for crystal generator at the Bazaar?

Offtop: I've finally took the first Inhate Arcana. Just finished the arenas from start to Longest Journey on Hell. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

when i'm ETing a girl i do blind/weaken

when i'm straight killing i do weaken/bewilder/nerf

if it's konata i just do bewilder/nerf

this is on normal though since my damage isnt high enough to kill the other difficulties quickly

I have a willow staff with 12.92% ADM (at least, I think it's the same category you guys are looking at, it's not MDM or EDB).
