Old setup So, with a bit of re-gearing (actually had them lying around, I thought I was upgrading to shade gear from kevlar, but was I in fact downgrading?) Is this a better setup than the full shade set from above? This post has been edited by Randommember: Aug 25 2011, 20:58

The increase in damage and evade is not significant enough. Shade relies on its evade and resist to survive. Parry and resist become important when evade fails.

So what is the magic number where evade gets good? 20%?

This is rather arbitrary and of course the higher the better (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) FYI, this is mine: With shadow veil I can have ~50% evade. Notice the mitigation on physical and magical are rather low.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Granted, all but 1 of non-Fleet pieces barely have a +1.4% evade chance. This post has been edited by HaliZorat: Aug 25 2011, 22:49

Right now I think you have a 1-(1-.298)*(1-.107) = .37 = 37% chance to avoid physical attacks, which goes to 1-(1-.298*1.2)*(1-.107) = .43 = 43% with Shadow Veil active. Or maybe I'm just doing the math wrong. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif)

According to this post, if you have 30% evade, you would have 44% evade with Shadow veil. Of course, this is not the true percentage of how much you will not get hit by mobs, because I didn't include the other avoidance factor, like parry, and the mobs innate miss chance. Just hit Level 70, and I'm looking for advice on my current build in preparation for 75 when the next set of RoB get unlocked for me
I've got a dual-wield for RoB and a two-handed wield for arena/item world/grindfest
I figure I'd eventually do dual-wield Katana-Wazikashi, but that'd be for a much higher level as I don't gain proficiency right?

That post makes it look like it just adds a new 20% evade factor. So is it added multiplicatevily or additively? multiplicative

I lurked around the linked thread about max stats but it seems that either I am too stupid or there is no updated info. I lewted this. 3.59 EDB. Is it anywhere near the max value? This post has been edited by MiAla: Aug 26 2011, 21:03

Compare the highest values in the DB against your piece of equipment.

A while ago I got a fenrir robe with 5.08 base, not the best, but still one of the highest among the list.

I'd love to see the max stats for shade and kevlar. I don't have excel installed on here unfortunately (and it won't work for some reason if I tried).
