It's the opposite actually. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) 0.82+ gears (eid ~68m+?) generally have higher ranges than gears from 0.81 and before, and yours is ~40m, which is from, I don't know, a bit less than 2 years ago or something? The wiki's ranges reflect ranges for 0.82+ only, but if you care you can look at equipment ranges history to see what the values for 0.81 were and see how yours match(ed) up.

Regardless, most gear from 0.81 and before is worse than gear of the same quality and the same average rolls as gear from 0.82+. There are a few exceptions, like certain desirable 3 PAB Exquisites, but not many.

Oh, i got. We need something like that for theory calculations, because we dont know which monsters is important and who wont make difference in turns. Its possibly in few ways:
1. Just roughly estimation. I know giant has in 2 times better defense than someone like sprite. And i can say 1k monsters probably in most cases dont have much training and someone from 1600 range has it often. It mostly gives only main idea, but in most cases we dont need exact value, even close is more than enough.
2. Count spell damage against each monster. This way we get final value with all defense in row. I mean lets say my average base T1 damage is 100k. If monster 1 got average 73k and second 55k then definitely second one has much stronger defense and overall reduction for him is 45%.

Problem with average, because its not very correct way. If monster can die in 2-8 turns then probably in low part it wont give us any benefits, because someone else die later. But when monster doesnt die then it affects directly.

We can also count same way turns instead damage or any other similar way. But i dont like so much complicated calculations, because staff like that much easier to check on practice. For example use random selfdrop on lower diff for correct turns/round.

Hey guys, I want to get back into this game after not playing for a few years, I decided to try it again and everything seems reset and revamped including my equipment all unequipped/ability and talents all reset, really would like advice and help in want to allocate ap and attributewise/style to play, what to train(ability boost/adept/etc),and what dailies to do etc. Just want to get back into it and I'll probably figure out the small stuff. I had heavy armor on and played 2h sword, I think I used some ethereal estoc of slaughter. Here are my stats:

As for equipment, u would want a main-hand rapier of slaughter, i would look for 39~41 base adb for Exq quality, 42~45 for Mag quality or 45+ for Leg quality.

For shield u can consider Buckler of barrier, Force Shield or Kite Shield, difference being that Force Shield has the superior base block% compared to the other 2 types but requires a rare forging material (Defense Matrix Modulator).
In terms of block%, Force Shield > Buckler of Barrier > Kite Shield > Buckler without Barrier suffix.

Armor, power protection for early 200s, when u feel abit more tanky, u may start swapping out some power protection for power slaughter.

Anything i forget, i may add on later.
For now this is everything i can think of.

I don't think it ended up particularly well. I don't have the energy to re-level it though.

youre right. Swift Strike and Overpower are not useful at all for 1H but the Fatility looks good.
I always look for for an Demonic or Hallowed Rapier instead of Ethereal, the Burden / Interference dont hurt at all for a 1H user if its coming from your Rapier, as long as youre under 70 Burden and you will avoid Strikes like your Cold one

start by re-assigning EXP points in a quick way:

udsing your estoc for a while may still be good at low difficulties, but at your level we usually suggest to start moving to 1H + Shield, so i'd say to assign STR:DEX:AGI:END:INT:WIS in the 10:10:8:10:7:10 ratio to still give you a bit of SP Tank. should you want to try different combos, simply change the value.
your credit pool is quite limited, so don't train anything atm. focus on finding a decent shield. as for weapon, your main aim will be a Rapier but a Shortsword or an Axe to start may be fine as well. as for armors, you may still suffer for the lack of defensive stats, so try to find a set of 4PABs Leather. Protection suffix and/or Reinforced prefix as much as possible. EXQ+ quality.
as for abilities, assign those related to your current build and the (supportive) spells you're using: Tanks and Potions are pretty much a must. Spike shield may be a plus. unlock the slots you need (since you have enough Mastery Points); in case you think you did something wrong it's still possible to reset it, so worry not.
do as many REs and arenas as possible and sell all the junks at Bazaar

as soon as possible forge the first 5 ADB and PABs levels on your gears since it should be quite cheap. and will give you a bit of emprovement.
if you have Chaos Tokens unlock a few slots in Monster Lab and bring mobs to PL25~50 (but not further!) for a bit more incoming. if not, skip this.
if you have Blood Tokens do all the possible Ring of Blood challenges at Normal difficulty for the first bonus. it's ok to throw in a few potions/scrolls/spells since your aim is to raise credits. if not, skip this as well.

on the contrary, it seems quite decent to me. Fatality is good, Overpower can still help and Cold Strike goes well with Fire Spike Shield
