So no haste or shadow veil. Just Spirit Shield and protection on IA2?
i always used Haste + SS, tbh. i used it since so much ago that i cannot even tell you how it felt to play without Haste XD
however at high difficulty you may want to resort to Spark, boh *shrug*

The only real advantage of 1h/light is that it's safer.
You get more evasions than blocks so it's not even keeping up the spirit stance, nor does it have the heavy armor's damage.
yep. or at least, it's harder to keep. you may partially compensate the higher evade by picking arcanist/negation over fleet/shadowdancer but it's not a wise idea to lower evade when you have no piercing mitigation at all. probably needs a reinforced buckler of barrier...

The lower mana cost is an "illusion" since you need 1-2 more buffs compared to 1h/heavy.
yep. with all the aftermaths of having to recast so many spells so often. mana cost is the last of your problems

More than the rest, it's far cheaper to make and even forge if you want a good light set.
That's that. Safer and cheaper. 99% of the cases an 1h/heavy is better.
yup. then maybe a way to start 1H and buying a bit of time before having to look for actuators? afterall it may have a sense since at around lv250 your light proficiency (and its abilities) is already high enough...
