QUOTE(MiAla @ Aug 14 2011, 03:21) Mana tank ability points > everything. Especially +EXP points. Your WIS stat is WAY too low. That is the reason you go dry so fast. Are you sure you want to stick to Heavy armor? As for me, I decided to revert to Light when I was at lvl120 with over 100 Heavy armor proficiency and it was still better for me.
I'd read a couple of threads about the Exp tanks not working at all. Should I reskill and grab the mana tanks instead? As for the heavy armor, I'm probably going to switch to light armor myself later on, but for now, the burden isn't bad enough to get me killed, and the mitigations and absorptions are good for my shield skill. I also need to find a decent set of light armor first.

Dead men will not get EXP. Forget the EXP Tank, reset the AP and load HP/MP Tanks to the max. This post has been edited by Evil Scorpio: Aug 14 2011, 16:35

That's a good way to put it, but do the exp tanks actually work? I spent nearly all my creds on a third level of Archaeologist, so I don't have much to spare atm.

Thanks.
I'm now level 50ish, and I now have access to the Ring of Blood. Probably not going to attempt it til level 70ish or so though.
What other skills are useful for a melee type? I'm finding a lot of the related skills are mostly for magic classes.

Weaken and poison for you right now, i didn't delve into those until far too late (recently, in my early 70's), and at least for RoB fights, they're very good. I went from blowing 6 pots on rob to 0 for manbearpig through dalek, and with a pair of good clubs, i took out konata as soon as i hit 75 (though that was due to constant stun procs *whistles badly*) I can't answer anything about equipment or other ability stuff, as i'm still unsure about my own things, but i know weaken and poison kept my ass from getting one-shotted from agitated bosses quite often.

Don't forget about bewilder as well. Until you get silence (LV110), you need that to nerf bosses' spells. Also, grab some good elemental mitigation gears before entering RoB. Check HentaiVerse Bestiary for the corresponding monsters.

QUOTE(Evil Scorpio @ Aug 14 2011, 07:37) High difficulty on High-quality item. I usually grinding Exquisites on Heroic now. Quality of the item is important, at least many players said what you'll get better drop amount and quality on the high quality IW.
Last time I tried, I could barely handle my ~Lvl 60 Superior on Hard, so I'd probably go for Superior on Normal for now since I don't want to use more Mana Potions than I gain.

I don't do IW anymore as arena consumes so much of my stamina. It depends on your goal: 1. save stamina and maximise EXP or 2. clear more rounds and look for more drops.

The arenas leave me with only 3-4 spare stamina before 80 nowadays for IW, so I just go through one of my many low leveled items which I still haven't sold for whatever reason. EXP isn't really a concern of mine at the moment, I'm just looking to maximize drop quality while minimizing item usage & difficulty.

You may consider training scavenger, lucky of the draw, quartermaster and archaeologist. But they get very costly after a few levels.

20/50, 8/25, 7/20, and 4/10 for those respectively at the moment. I highly doubt I'll be training in Archaeologist again anytime soon, but I'm hoping to get back to the other 3 (and maybe ability boost too) after completing Packrat. This post has been edited by HaliZorat: Aug 14 2011, 21:49

I have pretty similar levels as you. Mine are: 20/50, 10/25, 6/20, 3/10 Bear in mind, it is always nice to have a spare slot in your inventory, but also consider this: how often do you actually need the last pot? If yes, then get an extra level on pack rat (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) If not, the money is better spent elsewhere p.s. Currently I am 3/5 on pack rat.

Actually, I usually end up using most or all of my potions in the later arenas unless I get Mana Gems. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Granted, currently, half of them are Health Potions since I want to cut back on their usage until I have a larger supply again.

Perhaps it's time for you to upgrade your equipments? With a little bit of luck, today I have completed twisted plots on heroic (normal status) without using a pot.

Yeah, I'm going to have to upgrade at some point since all of my equipped stuff except for my weapons are my own low leveled Phase & Shade stuff, but I'll probably need more credits before I can afford any, since I did just spend 80k on Packrat yesterday. EDIT: Well, ended up buying 2 pieces of Light Armor from Hito for a full set of Light Armor. Not sure how good the stats actually are, but it's better than anything I'd get in the near future anyways. This post has been edited by HaliZorat: Aug 14 2011, 23:21

Energy drinks cost so much... I assume after getting to very high levels, you can afford to go under 80 stamina?

I don't see going under 80 stamina as a problem or making it that much harder, I just mainly use the 80 as a limiter of how much time I spend playing it and to ensure I have 99 for the next day. I could go through a ton of IW for items and have less than 80 stamina, but I don't feel the need to.

My stamina normally goes below 80 after the top 4 stages of the arena. It isn't that "much" harder however you will notice the big difference of EXP gain per round. Nevertheless, as a testing, yesterday I cleared the first 8 stages on IWBTH on normal status. At a point, I am sure you will have to fight with normal status since redbulls are a bit expensive if you want to level up quickly. Just a personal experience, stages before endgame doesn't worth doing with great status.
