What is the most efficient way to grind staff prof? I just realized I have only 47 :<
What Fudo said... but still, it's hard:

1581 4 In Memory Of Dark Mages Mk3 uses Ragnarok, and hits you for 4011 crushing damage
1581 3 Your spirit shield absorbs 14700 points of damage from the attack into 163 points of spirit damage.
1581 2 Arcane Blow hits In Memory Of Dark Mages Mk3 for 625 crushing damage.
1581 1 You gain 0.02 points of staff proficiency.
1580 5 Replenishment restores 17 points of magic.
1580 4 Regen restores 1805 points of health.
1580 3 In Memory Of Dark Mages Mk3 hits you for 4011 crushing damage.
1580 2 Your spirit shield absorbs 1533 points of damage from the attack into 17 points of spirit damage.
1580 1 Arcane Blow hits In Memory Of Dark Mages Mk3 for 625 crushing damage.
Staff proficiency sure is fun
BTW, don't do what I did. Use equipment that lets you finish rounds in 700 turns or less (if playing on IWBTH. lower difficulty allows for more turns before damage becomes too much).

Why not to do sg arenas on low diff with ethereal staff and power armor?
Not enough hits per round, too much attention required IMO.
Well, you could, but I'd rather no-focus play if I'm trying for proficiency rather than clearing.

Don't worry about prof. that much. I never grind for prof. It will go along with you as long as you use the style. I became a mage at Lv390 and now my staff prof. is 402. (unless you're in rush (IMG:[

It completely depends on how often you try to Tap, doesn't it? Unfortunately, Tapping is rare (at least for me), and it's only one chance of getting proficiency gain (and 1000 turns of straight attacking might only gain 0.5 proficiency). So natural rise doesn't feel like enough.
I think there is a difference before and after training staff prof. From 300 to 440 gave 70 MDB, which is the same amount one would get from forging MDB from 30 to ~42 on staff.

Is there another way to reduce magical/elemental mitigation of ennemies than with Imperil ?
Holy attacks reduce magical and physical mitigation.
Higher player proficiency results in specific mitigation reduction on monsters.
Fewer resists accomplishes something very similar (more damage), which is accomplished with more prof, more Penetrator, Oak and Willow, Magnet, and Elec attacks.
