QUOTE(Nekokon @ Oct 28 2015, 22:00) Hearing mage can't do highest difficulties without superb gears kind of broke my heart, but at least if I can get a decent set I might be able to IW everything else easier than this Q xQ It's OK, because regardless of difficulty, mage will clear much faster than melee, and credit income scales up slowly. Even if you are only capable of playing Nightmare or Hell as mage, you'll be getting a whole lot more income, and will soon (enough) be able to afford much better gear. Of course, the other limiting factor is soul fragments, which require patience.

QUOTE(Sapo84 @ Oct 28 2015, 14:15) I can clear Nintendo IW (leg gear, 91 rounds) in 15 minuttes without even spirit shield (generally spending 1-3 spirit draughts and 0-2 mana draughts, depending on gem drops). IW it's viable with 1H, you just have to choose the difficulty you can clear with less sparks/pots. Also, as Superlatanium said a few days ago, a good shield block is necessary for defences, and you need a lot of them in the later rounds. Moving to a decent shield to a very good one +5 forged makes a lot of difference. When I switched from this to this, even at a comparable level of forging I could handle PFUDOR in the same way I was handling IWBTH before, one full level. Where in God's name did you get that buckler of the barrier? And how much did you have to spend?

700k in one of wannaf auction. And it isn't even the best that has gone on acution (but no point in buying if I cannot soulbound (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif)). Anyway, changed browser today, the difference in clearing speed between browsers can be astonishing.

I dont think gear is strong limitation for mages. Specially because decent phase already selling for 50-200k. Im saying it because i have relatively "bad" holy set. Its all old selfdrop magnificent 4+1 set. Stats is 2550 mdb, 270 edb (should be ~11,5k magic score) and my fire 4+1 set has 17,5k magic score. So in my case holy has higher mp price, longer cast, lower mitg reduction, because imperil is only 25% instead 40% and finally in 1,5x times lower magic score. And its still not so bad. Sure its longer, but i think i can clear all arenas even with it on pf. But maybe only because i have some perks and higher lvl which might means slightly better defense.
Anyway for lower diff it should be still fine and cheap legendary phase still better. Its just hard to start, because long preparation.

QUOTE(Logii @ Oct 28 2015, 22:14) Too bad, I could simply not do PFUDOR runs on that piece to take advantage of the possible drop boost, I would die or have to flee before reaching round 100. What kind of Peerless equipment do you have that is over 400 PXP, if I can ask? Light armor? Good luck though, I'll keep an eye on The Legendary Equipment Thread for your drops (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) I have at least one from each category. Not many with 400+ pxp though. My only peerless drop was a Zircon Power Protection Helmet. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I would say it's the worst. But element doesn't matter that much anyway. For a fire staff, pick a Fiery Oak Staff of Focus (basic) or a Fiery Redwood Staff of Surtr/Destruction/Elementalist. Elementalist is especially great for low difficulty where you won't be using Imperil, while Surtr and Destruction give a nice boost of power.

Fire is heavily resisted by some of the strongest monsters: Mechs, Giants, Dragons. The other elements do better against those types. I guess Fire's decent with the proc from Shock Spikes though.

QUOTE(Fap.Fap @ Oct 29 2015, 01:55) would you say Fire mage is the strongest atm? what kind of Staff would be needed?
With imperil and 4+1 (4 phase, 1 cloth) they mostly all exactly same. If prof factor is ~0,65-0,7 (its ~210 additional prof points at 310lvl), than almost there are no mobs who has additional mitg. But 0,7 usually means prof perk and forge which isnt cheap. At start with cheap set you ll always use imperil. Its simple rule if rounds is longer 6-7 turns than its better to cast imperil. Even at low diff im sure it ll be longer without imperil. So its much better to look at stats and price. And probably much better to start with staff, because its expensive and its quite important. The best is destruction and its the most expensive. Matching is vital. If its redwood than it should have elemental prefix and suffix or as i said destruction/prof. Prof suffix isnt bad, specially cos its usually cheap and that mostly only means 5 phase instead 4. So id advise just look at wts for staffs and mark all cheap (up to ~500k, at max 700k). Sum of base mdb+edb should be higher than 60-65 or 45-50 if it has prof suffix. Prof should be ~7+ and ~14+ with prof suffix. At the end it probably ll be ~10-20 staffs and you can choose the best. Also cheack aucs because sometimes its very good and very cheap.

QUOTE(nec1986 @ Oct 29 2015, 14:26) Ive made gif with my holy set. So cheap way looks possibly. (IMG:[ 114.imagebam.com] http://114.imagebam.com/download/ub4hYP-cvofMw5dLdiv7Tg/44370/443691913/holy.gif) after seeing your gif. I will stick with 1H. mage really glass cannon eh. looking that full HP decreased to 40% in 7 turn. I prefer mousemelee. indeed 1H slower but safe.

Winter is coming after summer, right? http://hentaiverse.org/pages/showequip.php...;key=9d11287403Too bad its only 46 adb. QUOTE(karyl123 @ Oct 29 2015, 12:11) mage really glass cannon
Its true. And also its harder, because its imperil-attack switch with slightly random targeting. Usually its 1-6-else, but it can be different. Actually somehow top mages clears full pffest. Latestage of fest in 4+ times harder than arena and its constant 8 monsters instead 3+. So it can be not so glass. But sure 1h is very safe and easy even without forge. Mage is the way for ppl who wanna clear faster. Pffest is good example, because they doing it in ~1hour.
