QUOTE(tbarim @ Oct 27 2015, 07:38) I'm debating trimming my Wis in exchange for increasing Agi or End. I'm not running into mana issues with my playstyle, but about every other item world I'll hit a turn near the end where I take 3k-ish damage in one turn and have to spend way too much mana recovering from it. Currently, I keep Agi and End even to my level and put everything else into a 50-50 split on Wis and Int.
Dont think its a good idea to use level as a reference. I do str=dex=end=0.5agi=0.5wis base on exp needed, in practice they are just ~20 points behind.

Me too ( O vO)b No need to take out calculator everytime I finish a long arena and have tons of exp to spend ( ` 3`)
Question please, can a poor mage be on pair with a poor-but-not-as-poor melee after 310 O xO ? Right now my melee set "might" still be enough to carry me to 310, and I think getting a basic mage set won't be very expensive. However if it isn't strong enough I might have to stick with melee gear until my magic proficiency got better Q xQ Anyone have any advice ?

Right now my melee set "might" still be enough to carry me to 310, and I think getting a basic mage set won't be very expensive. However if it isn't strong enough I might have to stick with melee gear until my magic proficiency got better Q xQ Anyone have any advice ? What you probably need is: * Mag+ Phase/Proficiency gear (generally very cheap at high level due to oversupply, though you may need to soulfuse down to your level) * Good staff (much harder to find - this is probably the limiting factor) with not-bad IW (cost: 10-15 shards?) * All armor has a bit of Jug on it (cost: 56 shards) * Level 310, obviously * VV and EE will help a whole lot (mage is the style that benefits from those perks the most), but of course they're pricey. Finding a staff with matching type/prefix/suffix is probably the hardest, which might cost more than the rest of your gear combined, but it's the most important slot, so don't go cheap on it. The higher level an item is, the less it's worth. So one option you have is, instead of looking for gear around your level (which may well be sparse and pretty costly) - just play REs until you have a lot of soul fragments, and then search for higher-leveled gear sold very cheaply that you can soulfuse. Amnesia cost is significant, but mages need the additional durability from Jug the most. As you can see, upfront cost is significant, even though the gear itself (except for the staff) is probably cheap - and if you skip out on anything, you'll have a significantly tougher time than otherwise. It might still be playable on lower difficulty, but you'd still want to upgrade to 'halfway decent' ASAP. If you manage to get to the "playable" level, you'll be able to clear lower difficulties a whole lot faster than melee (and get income that much quicker), but you'll probably struggle on IWBTH and PF, which melee can do (pretty) easily but mage can't without heavy firepower and a few perks.

My best melee gear is superior Q AQ
This doesn't feel like mage is better than melee at all, still all about superb gear Q xQ I thought mage would be like, buff up > spend a few turns to debuff everything > kill them all in another few turns, compare to melee's buff up > hold down num keys and kill them roughly about the same number of turns with 4 or less monsters, thus mage is better when (and only when) grinding long arenas or grindfest or IW with lot's of monsters at once Q xQ If it's harder for them to do higher difficulty then what's the advantage Q xQ ? Doesn't that make them worst than mace - heavy armor too >"<
I'm so confused Q AQ My mage dream is breaking up, I need life counseling Q AQ

you need to survive first for mage before thinking about blasting mobs (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

QUOTE you need to survive first
Yea, very cheap mage wont rly work. Minimal i d say: 1-2m credits at least 100+, but probably 400+ soul fragments, because phase in auc/wts is usually high lvl binded. Depr/element/cloth/staff Prof (with time) IW (with time) And maybe few perks Thats if you wanna play high diff. And maybe that wont be enough. You need to kill all monsters (or most of em) before they use their mp attacks. On pf mobs have high speed/ high health, so you need damage for that. And yea, be ready to use cures very often.

yes, it does. when ability is fully slotted, Blind from Iris goes up from 100 turns to 200. not sure if it also affects ACC debuff though QUOTE(Nekokon @ Oct 27 2015, 06:44) I thought mage would be like, buff up > spend a few turns to debuff everything > kill them all in another few turns
yes, less or much it's this way. but to be able to reach this goal the setup stage is pretty strict (and demanding!). personally, i still prefer the mindless 1H style and as far as i see there are a few higherups who do it as well. maging isn't the only possible choice after lv310, afterall (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Parry is about parrying the hits, counter-parry is about not being parried (like >100% accurary helps against monsters evade).

yup. if a monster tries to hit you, there's a chance you can parry its attack. if you hit a monster and it parries your attack, there's a chance you can overwhelm its parry (or counter-parry its parry)

Guys a little problem. Quite often, while checking the bazaar, i see parts of my equiped set among the items i have unequiped and enabled to sell. More than once i was about to sell a piece thinking i already had the same and then realized it was actually the one i had equiped. If i go to my equiped set and then back to the bazaar, the glitch is fixed, but i think this could be bad. Anyone else has this problem?

do you usually lock your gears? you can do it by clicking the lock icon at the left of gears' name, until it turns yellow

I know, but I don't lock them since i'm in the midle of changing from 1H to DW and i' comparing equipment pieces often (it's faster in the bazaar than the equipment page). I'm more conserned over the fact that the equipment i'm using ends up in the bazaar though (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

When looking at a piece of equipment, use Q/W/E/R/T for various functions. Oh, and if you mean how to install it, you need Greasemonkey (Firefox) or Tampermonkey (Chrome). More scripts on the wiki. Probably because your equipment is very outdated. BTW, got any nice oldies? Hover over a piece of equipment and press C for a link to it, if you wanna share. This post has been edited by Dan31: Oct 27 2015, 14:49
