The mdb & edb is pretty bad right?
The first thing to look for on the staff is the mdb followed by the edb right?
So my guess is that this staff isn't very good, will not fetch much.

Yep, you're right. The other problem is the lack of a Hallowed prefix, which means significant less potential EDB.

The three dragons are billed as normal (uncolored) mobs and they don't even drop any trophies.

Bought these Magnificent Amber Power Helmet of Slaughter(no END), Magnificent Savage Power Armor of Slaughter(no DEX) off the Bazaar for 28817c and 27546c respectively.

Even though both are 2PABs the ADB seems to be decent. Was it worth it?
Or is using Mag/Leg Power of Protection with 3 PABs better?

Both are nice. Endurance doesn't really matter anymore for high level 1h players because GF is pointless, and though chest armor lacks Dex (best PAB), it has Savage (even better than best PAB). They definitely shouldn't have been bazaared, and are a whole lot better than Protection anything.

Definitely auction.
EDB is pretty bad but mystic with PMax Crit is quite a good prefix.
You should get a good price for that.

I'm going to be mining it for additional SG trophies and the chance for Tokens of Blood. Somewhere in the top 4-5 Arenas I scored a record-breaking (for me) five Tokens in one day, plus one Artifact, and my first non-RE Leg drop. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

As of hitting L300 I'm not even in it for the EXP anymore, I'm just in it for SG's and accumulated per-turn credits. (Comes out to over 6K per completed arena, probably more nowadays.) I may go for EXP runs again once I get better gear (5079 ABD is downright insultingly low with slaughter gear equipped), or perhaps IA1/2 and OFC. And my goal is to hit 5 million credits as fast as possible.

Well, as a mag it is; yet, in this patch I regard an EDB of 39+ as one of the requirements to be "quite good". Not saying ppl won't pay well for it, just that it's merely "okay" in my book. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I avoid the Bazaar and get my items in WTS and via WTB. Though I also miss some of the fab-tastic gear some dudes here are finding in the Bazaar which is why my gear sucks.

I check the Bazaar every so often bcos i cant find specific items below lv300. Most items on the WTS are above 350 or in the 400s.

Occasionally i can find good deals in the Bazaar, downside is untradeables.

Well, the main benefit of it are the last 20 rounds, including the very last one. I got almost all Legendaries dropped there, when I remember all arena drops. The secret behind this is the scaling of mobs inside a arena. I think we discussed drop chance vs difficulty enough, so we should quality modifier vs power level, too. Trophies can be described this way, directly correalted to the Power Level of a Boss. FSM has a PL of 7000 (estimated), Yggdrasil ~ 1400. SGs ~ 2800, Konata > 2800. The dragons should be at least ~ 4500 - 5000 and they are not bound to drop trophies.

The normal monster PL cap is 2250 and there are very few of them having this PL. Lower than any SG. So for arena and ROB, DWD and TT&T offer the highest, long arenas with SGs an adequate, and long arenas an acceptable drop chance on Legendaries, IF that correlation is correct. You can observe that scaling also in IWs with the round cap. After round ~80 monsters drop a higher quality on items - at least that is what I observed.

You should be able to reproduce this by IW'ing a PXP 400+, because the formula in the Wiki seems to be outdated. It should state something with PXP, because I get less rounds when I do some IW jobs, even if the overall quality is higher, but PXP is lower. Any peerless offering 100 rounds should be treasured therefore as a possibility to grind the good stuff.

Does IA reduce the effectiveness of the skill used?
I got IA, set spirit shield, started a RE:
protect -> haste -> my hp LOOK like they are at 100% despite the fact i had taken 2000 damage... still i have another 9000+ left... channeling procs, i cast heartseaker and... dead.
spirit shield didn't activate once despite some big hits taking part on behalf of the enemy (2000+).

Also, wiki makes it look like you lose a small amount of mana every turn (1-2), but i don't see this happening. Does IA have any other downsides?

only downside of IA is that you have less chances for channeling procs, since you have to cast less buffs. but apart from that (which is like wanting to find a hair within an egg - no clue if it's right, but too lazy to look for a translation (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) they are quite solid of investments, at least until IA3. not sure for IA4.

the wrong part is that you cast heartseeker before having completely buffed yourself. and personally i'd pick haste for IA1, then cast protection, spirit shield, regen. heartseeker has lowest priority, until your defense isn't high enough to allow you to lose a turn at whatever point. should you buy IA2, go for spirit shield

Maybe the dmg u took wasn't high enough to proc spirit shield (25% for ur current level).
How much dmg did they deal and whats ur max hp?

i can't rmb but i think somebody mentioned before in one of the previous posts, about instances where chunks of dmg manage to bypass spirit shield being just below the % amount.

i can't rmb but i think Frederiksc mentioned before in one of the previous posts, about instances where chunks of dmg manage to bypass spirit shield being just below the % amount.

yup. for example, my HP tank is 21k and the threshold for SS to proc is 4200. should i take in the same turn 4 skill attacks worth 4k each plus a bunch of standard attacks i'll be istantly dead. quite remote of a chance given my defensive stats, but still not impossible (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
