After experimenting with light armor, I feel I need regen and SV a lot... Anyone feels the same?

QUOTE(dcherry @ Jul 24 2011, 01:33) 1) best way to get tokens is arena. there's a decent chance to get "arena clear token bonus" which guarantees you a token (check release notes for probability of healing/blood/chaos). scavenger *should* increase token drop rate since it basically increases drop rate of *everything* except gems
2) i would invest in whatever training you can afford for scavenger/archaeologist quartermaster is debatable since most gear you find won't be significant, really. you might want to get it anyways since the equpiment nets a little more from the bazaar than the other loot (with exception of artifacts)
archaeologist will quickly shoot beyond your budget while scavenger wil be a little more accommodating
At what level should Scavenger, Archaeologist, Quartermaster, and LotD be at before you start to see a decent return on the credit investment?

@blood That's a pretty ambitious question. It's pretty difficult to quantify the "gain" that is directly due to training especially since the benefit from training has no limit (since it's a permanent bonus)
e: and also because its gain is so incrementally small. at certain points, you can definitely feel a difference (like my current training portfolio) but most of the time you can't attribute your drops to the training or just pure luck
From the training menu (top to bot) I'm 25/10/8/4
I would say qualitatively, I'm seeing pretty good returns due to those training levels so far.
@dark looks pretty bleh. keep it anyways in case an ethereal collector wants to buy
@midnight that sounds right. you *did* give up a lot of your "tanking" ability for faster kill speed theoretically. are you killing faster than before? getting more turns than before? is light armor giving you *any* advantage over your power gear at the moment?

I think it's a bit unfair to compare at this moment, since my light armor proficiency is only 67.55 where heavy armor is 120.20. However, I distributed a few more points on endurance.

When wearing all LIGHT armor + 0.25% Attack Crit Chance + 0.5% Resist + 1 Agility
When wearing all HEAVY armor + 0.5% Crushing/Slashing/Piercing Mitigation - 1 Burden + 1 Endurance
light might become sexier once you get heart seeker since you'll probably have significant %crit by then?
e: in my case, i didn't care much about my magic crit % until i got AF

All these casting will cost heck a lot of mana...don't know whether my potions will last until the end of a battle. This post has been edited by MidNightPass: Jul 25 2011, 10:35

And how many of them do you use per complete Arena day? I mean, all of challenges from lvl1 to lvl120? This post has been edited by MiAla: Jul 25 2011, 12:02

good thing about arena is, that the monsters doesn't become stronger the deeper you go (that sounds so gay). This way you can pick a harder challenge level and gain more Exp than you would in IW or Grindfest. Plus you get nice drops.
I usually prefer to go 1-6 IWBTH 7-14 BT 15-25 Hell 26-28 usually normal, but hard or heroic should be possible EoD on normal and even then I need to balance Equip and Items well to finish it.

I might have some time to play HV today...
@ MidNightPass
How do you play the game while using Heavy? Whack them till your HP is low, cast Cure, repeat?

Pretty much yes, and if I ever get channeled, I will cast cure II while HP is low. If not I would cast haste or SV.

Personally I use high evade shade and I must have regen up all the time after that I use haste on larger groups. When I get channeling I usually spend on spark or SV if I have spark up already and regen isn't about to fall off. Mmm spark letting me hold down buttons since lvl 100 (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I'm probably unlucky, but recently I've had plenty of instances where I pretty much fight battle after battle of monsters where nearly all of them appear to be resistant to my Piercing attacks. I'd go through all of my MP and most of my potions healing trying to whittle them down and still lose in the end(whereas I'd usually win obviously). I'd figure having elemental spells would give me an easier time, but my proficiency there is still practically 0. (All of my stats are at 101, with the exception of Strength at 106.)
I don't intend on switching to being a mage anytime soon, but should I begin investing ability points in any elemental spells just for some variety? Maybe some tips on how to handle them?

Probably ~20 per arena day. Yeah, that's a lot (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Have you tried mainhand ethereal (void) rapier? Cause I truck stuff with that when I dual wield rapiers.

I've thought about getting an ethereal weapon later on when I intend on fighting the Gods, but I wasn't sure if their "significantly worse stats" (as said by the wiki) were worth the damage type for the regular arena. Also, is dual wield rapiers that good? I thought have two different procs was better so my offhand is currently a Shortsword because it's the only decent weapon I have that has Bleeding Wound on it.

You don't need it to fight Gods. QUOTE(HaliZorat @ Jul 26 2011, 08:07) Also, is dual wield rapiers that good?
2H is king nowadays...
