I think the cut for the uber-mages appeared with the revamped abilities page ?

I have a hard time remembering every nerd-rage at each different patch.

Holy have max spell dps earlier, but after 450, numbers in base are equal again. As you can see, the early mage (310) is exactly between more t3 targets or more base. So anyone can decide without thinking which mage set to wear. In late game and haevy forging, numbers may be of interest. But as today, mage as you like.

I liked the nerd-rage as elitist-nerds proofed their arguments with numbers. You knew at patchday+2 what to get rid of and what to keep. These days we do not even have a enough nerds to calculate/update the wiki pages... Or figure out the mystical "i" in the item creation process... or a mathematically argueable theory on PXP...

Like Susskind stated in his Supersymetry Theory: "Many string theories can easily get rid of the Tachyion, but fail at describing the massless photon" Any theory which can not be failed by an experiment is a useless one. what we know nowadays is 'patch day, no play' [dani cit.]

btw, was that uber-mage really so effective? or was it simply the only viable way because no prefixes on staffs & no imperil?

Who are you talking about? I only know 1 person skillchip does some big maths (or arithmetics at least). But I am pretty new to hv so (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)

It took exactly 1 patch to let this mage theoretically (nerd-style!) out of the box, to collect a set with highest regen possible (Gossamer Priestess) and gain all elemtental skills (yes, they were parted those days), declare and proove numbers to other (mostly afterwards madly raging) arch-mages and to stop him with the next patch release.

I want to ask the way we compare the equipment ??
Ex: R1 and R2
Could you advise me which is better and explain to me why ??
And about Primary Attributes, how we compare between these two equipment, one thing have 2 PAB and one thing have 3 PAB, they different in type PAB and the amount of each PA is different ??

Thats ~440k damage. Holy should hit even harder. But many turns needed for casting imperil. At the same time imperil mage is cheap and it should be quite easy on something like nintendo.

everytime i see about such rebalancings/ragequits i have the impression to be playing in a casino, with the house changing rules as needed (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
however, just another case of another person too caught up in the game imo

personally i'd go for the first one. less PABs but better overall stats: longer PA duration - even if slightly lower chance, higher parry, lower BUR and higher DEX.
the lack of STR should only affect a bunch of ADB and SP points.
but since you're going 1H and counters are way more effective than regular hits, i'd raise the chance to block/parry (thus the chance to counter) rather than pure ADB by a measly 25 points or so...

[edit]: anyways, should you find at least an elemental prefixed (even if a 2PABs superior, as long as it has DEX) it would be quite better...

They are priced at a level mainly for new players to purchase. There isn't that much difference at that level.
