I can't really say. It's depend on what is the main reason for you to use mana (healing?) ... You might get away with the same plan by using scroll to increase your protection, though.

Im fine with weapons. Currently I am using this as my main weapon and it cuts through the waves of monsters just fine. The problem is that my armor is Fair/Average mostly and I havent seen anything Superior Power Something in WTS for, like, three weeks.

Well, Power armor is somewhat rarer than ordinary Plate, so Superior/Exquisite pieces of Power armor may be difficult to find. On the plus side, I find that a mostly Fine (with a couple of Average pieces) suit of Power armor does more than well. Just keep searching if you feel you need better armor!

Are the Spike spells worth picking up? I haven't really seen any discussion about them.

I'm having a hard time thinking of how they could be useful strategically. Like, if I'm fighting Konata for example, which one would I prefer to have on? If I have Storm Spikes on, I can proc Turbulent Air and explode it with an Electric spell, but that would involve me spending MP casting something she's resistant to. Alternatively, I can cast Frost Spikes to proc Freezing Limbs to lower her Wind resistance, but the explode damage from that wouldn't be very high since she's resistant to Cold. It's confusing. i personally wouldn't bother with the spikes. rather get +3% exp

I've unlocked an autocast slot about an hour ago but I still cannot pick the spell in "Settings" of my character. How long does it take for a perk to apply?
Also I did not find any information about how exactly autocast system is working. Are the spells being cast once they dissipate or they're only being cast at the beginning of each challenge regardless of their remaining time from the last fight?

It usually applies within an hour. Do you have the spell you want to use in autocast slot?

For the autocast system, the spell's there at the beginning of each challenge. They are not recasted every round, but they deduct an upkeep cost every turn.
Note that the autocast will cease functioning if you less than 10% of your mana available.

Frost Spikes can be used to survive against Ryoko's Spirit Attack, but I don't think it's necessary to use this version. On BT, Impaler did 6k damage against my 9k hp w/o Frost Spike.

Just get 1 spike for supportive prof spamming.

The 0.5.1 update didn't say that waki and katana has those drain proc, so the answer is no.

And talking about waki's suffix: slaughter, balance, nimble, battlecaster, cheetah, raccoon

Is there any trick to defeat the boss in "The Trio and the Tree"? My forbidden proficiency is very low right now (around 6 (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ). Would I have a chance with such low proficiency?

At lv.200, it should be easy to beat Trio at normal difficulty.
Just use full elemental, which should be better than demon-fiend considering your prof.
Trio has a new proc which absorbs every offensive spell, unless the tree is killed first. (those deprecating spells still work)
Then spam cold/wind/elec on Trio.
Just be careful on hp and there should be no problem.
