If 1h, wind isn't a good idea, because 1h would usually rather take the chance at blocking (or not blocking) than to evade. Fire is OK, but I think Frost minimizes HP damage taken overall. (because Fire won't reduce HP damage taken from SP attacks) But, Fire is also a more common damage type, I think.

This is wrong, wind and ice should be the same. You get hit less often and you block less often.

to be sure we'd need someone to do a high-level arena (DwD? ED?) at high difficulty with both spikes to have a decent pool of datas to compare (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

So much food for thought. Still using wind right now but after seeing these comments might try fire and ice and test them out. Just stuck with wind because from memory at really low level/bad gear (i.e. not much block or no spirit shield due to lvl req) wind increases survivability in the same way shadow veil does in getting hit less often. Although I know both (evasion in general) are not recommended for 1h.

What spike shield to get for mages? Is spike shield really that important?

get some annoying problem lately (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

it seem my portable chrome v31 is kinda slow/like alot of spike when playing HV even though my ping is normal (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
~ using normal chrome or iron ( get alot of flashing ) (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

already doing everything including clear cookies,cache,reinstall,flush DNS , nothing working (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

no virus or malware + hardware is normal , already check them using various sofware and cmd (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)
is this have some connection with me that need to use VPN or anonymox extension to visit HV ~ just to open HV than I disable it ( thanks to my goverment for this ) (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

If your ping is normal and there's nothing active at layer 4 and above in between (such as a transparent proxy), then it should not be the fault of the network.

But even 1% of packet loss can cause intermittent slowness which isn't easily seen in your ping. Maybe let your ping run for a couple hundred counts and see if there is any variance.

Do other browsers have spikes? (Eg, if you just lean on the repeat key while fighting FSM).

If you have access to a VPN, there's no harm trying that to see if it improves I guess. Better still, rent a cheap VPS and run a VPN server + H@H client on it (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

1) Could be the Min PL change from 0.83. There been some discussion of trainers potentially beefing up mobs too. Also wasn't difficulties tweaked slightly due to removal of battletoad.

2) From 0.82 the drop rate of RE was increased significantly from memory. EDIT: Although I'm not sure if further tweaks were made in 0.83. But pretty much in 0.82 10B confirmed I think about half of the legendary equipment came from RE and we should "get them in". (can't trust my memory right now)

yes, there used to be available, and even forgeable even if it was a whole new PAB. but they will soon be retired by tenboro - it will be funny to see whether all those gears will become (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

and just FYI, due to a bug even potencies lv6 or 7 are reported to exist

salvage crappy cloth armor drop for scrap cloths, or crappy staffs/shields for wood.
if you salvage something < superior quality, you'll earn only scraps.
superiors, scraps + LG material.
exq, scraps + MG material.
mag/leg, scraps + HG material.

rare tiers (phase or force shields) even energy cells

If you use a Flower Vase and Bubblegum and combine that with Heartseker and Spirit Stance, does all of that stack? I'm about to become eligible to do FSM and I want to make sure he gets really, really, really dead - and not me instead.
