QUOTE(Bunko @ Jul 15 2011, 12:40) I has never user weaken or bewilder. Silence is all you need (before getting spirit shield) If you're melee with crappy weapond trying to kill legendaries, use....
Ah never mind this is advice for crappy weapons.. Use a heavy bleeder, will get nerfed with patch.
Good stuff ? Rapier in 1st hand What causes most damage in odd hand.
Really hard enemy ? Scan it. Use infusion to know what it's weak against. Still will need to pierce the f*cker.
29 turns: Flying Spaghetti Monster has been defeated.
lol. you're welcome (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) and yeah, like dkplee is hinting at. it's not really rocket science. if you're the type to analyze, record the number of kills each monster got in a day and average it if they're relatively close. if they're getting shitloads of kills try analyzing every 12 hours, or 6 hours. divide 100 by that number. that's how many hours you should wait before checking. also watch out for seasonality from weekend/holiday effects e: bolded the line so you have a tad better idea why i'm saying you're welcome This post has been edited by dcherry: Jul 15 2011, 20:45

Depending on your physicial mitigation, i would take up Shield.
I got 29.9% and i'm nearly invincible with shield on. Glad it got buffed in the patch

1. You don't need those soul spells. And the Soul resistance's a joke.
2. Take shield and regen. They should be helpful as free-casts when channeling occur.
3. You don't need so many mana tanks. Put some points into exp tank. As a melee you're already grinding levels much slower than a mage. If you don't put any point into exp tank you will have to wait until next decade to hit lv.200.

get a level of poison imo. slows down the boss spirit/mana regen so they'll do specials on you less
1 level is all you need (more levels only increase duration) but most people get all 5 levels for convenience
are you going heavy or light armor? if you're going heavy, i'm a little skeptical as to whether SV is worth it for you. shield is definitely good for heavy users.
as for spirit tank. i assume you're melee so honestly i think the overcharge boost is more important than spirit tank
don't reset though. you can easily fill in the spaces with your upcoming ap's
e: varst is probably right about the spirit spells. i use it to recover my spirit to fuel more spark but since you're melee you'd probably run out of mana before you recover any decent amount of spirit.
as for the exp tank. if your goal is to level grind like a madman, then pump those up. and yeah, regen is good.

If he's using silence, then he probably don't need poison. And I don't think melee need any nerfing spells, as they don't have dep prof. The spell will probably last for 10-20 turns with 5 ability points, which is virtually useless. And he need reset and some good planning beforehand.

hmmm true. i totally missed the silence actually. scratch that poison thing.
he doesn't *need* reset though. if he really plans on grinding levels muchos then sure. otherwise, he's semi salvagable. just some wasted ap points and a few blanks here/there that oculd be filled in with A boost

Thanks varst. dcherry: I am using heavy now. I think I may do a reset to allocate soul spells and resistance into exp tank. Since I got silence, I guess soul resistance is less necessary now? By the way, how does overcharge benefit in a fight? I know spirit tank is good for spark of life only.

eh? You won't ever have depr prof if you don't cast depr spells, a bit of a catch 22 there right? If you battle on BT/IWBTH sometimes nerf(or weaken)/poison can help things along when fighting bosses in arenas.

2 Quick questions about the old Legacy Encounters. Does the set difficulty level for the HV effect the old system for hourly battles? And WTF how do you fight Real Life there? You blast the monster with legendary for 1 damage! The monster invokes Internet Shutdown for 31194 damage! You have been defeated!

219 5 You have been defeated. 219 4 Spreading Poison hits Mikuru Asahina for 87 damage. 219 3 Time Quake hits you for 2285 dark damage. 219 2 Mikuru Asahina casts Time Quake
my first time fighting her and i thought i had her beat then this happened from out of nowhere. i get what happened and i know how to prevent it from happening again but how do i know when that particular attack is coming so i dont use my scroll of the gods prematurely? is there some way to anticipate one shot attacks? its kinda overkill cause i only have 1,388 HP

That's her spirit attack, which she will use when she has 100% sp (the red bar) She also have skills which she use when she has 50% mp (the blue bar). Look at those two bars. You should use your scroll of the gods when the red bar reach 100% or the blue bar reach 50%.

i noticed her sp bar was full but she was so close to death at that point and my hp was full so i thought i had it won even if she used her sp attack. she had already used it on me once during the fight but it did so little damage that i wasnt worried about it the second time around. i didnt know she used a magic attack at 50% mp so thanks for the info. i'm gonna try ryouko next, does she have a similar pattern?

2285 noncrit? Try applying Bewilder, its just awesome for these purposes. Actually when you're packed with barrier scroll + barrier spell + bewilder on boss you barely take any damage at all and there is no need to waste Life/Gods scrolls. Well, at least it works like that for me. Also, I am depressed. It takes 19 stamina (99 > 80) to clear Arena chgallenges on NORMAL! to farm a daily dose of money. What the~ how do people farm it on 200+? This post has been edited by MiAla: Jul 16 2011, 11:08

I need about 5 minutes to finish endgame on nightmare difficulty at normal status. And I don't even consider myself a powerhouse now, so you can imagine how people farm the arena. You're a mage, light melee or heavy melee?

You don't have to do arenas on great status. I only use energy drinks on the post-100 arenas for the EXP boost, everything under feels like a waste.
