Guys, I have a question about IW, is it possible to obtain Overpower lvl 5 in like 10 tries? Or I need to preform some dances with tambourine around fireplace in the midnight when moon is full? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Sacrifices? What would be considered enough to get Overpower lvl 5? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Also, I have a question, what is better:

1. Overpower
2. Butcher
3. Fatality

nope , high lvl can always soulbind it if your drop really great (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

for DW , overpower is quite good since parry is very annoying for melee other than 1H (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Maybe I've just been lucky, but my 2 firsts IW10 on weapons has been Overpower 5 on first attempt (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Yep, anyone other than 1h benefits a whole lot from Overpower.

Butcher is good in general, especially for weapons with high weapon damage like club and axe. Due to damage penalty on offhand (and the fact that offhand weapons usually have less weapon damage), probably better to have Fatality than Butcher on offhand.

Pretty sure Swift Strike is bad.

Still, also keep in mind that it can get very costly trying to achieve a combination of potencies. It can triple or more your shards/runs required.

also, why is it that swift is bad? shouldn't a high attack speed be good because of more hits landed on mobs while they can hit you only once etc etc?

I had a situation when monster at 2 turns evade & parried my attack, funny thing that in those moments my hit chance was ~147 + 50(from overwhelming strike) & 40% counter-parry(2 stack of overwhelming strike). (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

It almost does not change the average number of hits needed to kill - the only effect is the very slightly reduced number of heals needed due to monsters dying a bit faster. While that might be a concern for mage due to damage taken, melee damage taken should generally be so low to make that a non-issue. Even for DW, unless someone is low level or has only crap gear or is on way too high difficulty, Fullcures aren't exactly that frequent, right? Well, maybe 2h would worry about it some due to their nonexistent defense, but they already need to aim for Overpower 4/5.

Compare to Butcher/Fatality/Overpower for DW (or 1h), which kills monsters quicker, directly reducing average turns per monster needed (which is usually "the only variable that matters", clear speed), as well as reducing damage taken due to quicker dead monsters, like the primary effect of SS.

Maybe someone only dancing around in the game would not care either way, but someone who wants to play well would probably want to avoid Swift Strike because it doesn't really increase turn efficiently. I think.

Past level 150-something, Niten turns out to be lacking in defense against the high PL monsters you'll be facing. It's not the absolute worst - that's reserved for 2h - but 1h and DW are better at that point, and remain so. Also, Niten has to use their slashing weapons, the weapon procs of which are quite bad compared to Stun and Penetrated Armor.

Before the monsters start skyrocketing in power, I think 2h is easier. Or you could just switch over to 1h early. Being able to near-permanently attack in Spirit Stance without even really looking is quite nice - significantly better than having very strong overcharge skills or having Domino Strike, IMO.

If you don't have a lot of funds but have spare fragments, then after you have a usable holy set, sure.

Better holy staffs exist from pre-0.82, but getting near L MDB as well as EDB higher than (suffix-only) L range would be pricey, probably 2m+. That's how it was before the patch. Prices may have dropped, though. Better 0.82 holy staffs exist, but almost all of them are likely too high level for you to use.

I have had this Legendary Phase Robe of Niflheim sitting around for ages and I doubt I will ever use it. Can someone please give me a price check on it, if it will fetch a decent price its probably better me selling it, as I don't really have any other cold gear.

From the discussion on staff IW potencies in May, it seems that Archmage could be the choice for the second potency on forged Destruction staves.

I'm planning to eventually full forge my LDKD. Would Archmage > Penetrator or Penetrator > Archmage?

I'm currently leaning towards Penetrator actually, because it would help counter-resist for both Imperil (if that still exists next patch, hah!) and the regular spells.

Edit: damnit, more remorse. My P EDB on a dark katalox staff would have an equivalent base EDB on a dark willow staff of S-1. And Katalox doesn't have all that nice willow counter-resist and deprecating prof too. What is Katalox actually good for?

I have 248 fragments, I think that counts spare fragments. Ive been wanting to use them since I'm scared 10B will raise the price to soulfuse back up to 100, but my next best gear is all exq power armor.

Disregarding the unusual collector or player who doesn't understand EDB, it is probably worth around 7k-8k.

Pre-patch it would have gone for lots since EDB is (was) nice. Now, probably not, since anyone looking for serious phase to use would use 0.82s with the much improved stats and Crushing mit. I think not over 1.5m, and even that's only if you get lucky with an undiscerning buyer IMO.
