Define "new" players.

As someone said before recently in this thread, the lotteries are more of a way for the rich to show off than anything else. If you look at the past lotteries you'll see that the equipment is never used 98% of the time (and is even sometimes just salvaged).

The value of the prizes is much lower than the value of the GP spent.

Anyway, if the equipment is not used, isn't it good for the lotteries to exist as a credit sink? Otherwise those credits would inflate the price of not-great-just-good equipment at auctions.

yes, you use it. it means an useful item went to a person who needed it, and for a reasonable price afterall.

Well, in HV, even crappy gears can hold their own grounds in the highest difficulty pretty well.

because their crappiness is somehow mitigated by multiplicative addition: it's for that reason that one outstanding piece of armor among crappy set (or vice versa) don't do a very big damage, it's more important to close the set to go for abilities at that point

Low diff --> fast solid amount. Still get many arti, tokens, gears and so on.
High diff --> not so fast, but higher credits amount and better gear loot. F.e., got 3 magnificent today. Its mostly bad drop, but sometimes its something useful (at least 0,1-1m credits).

So if you dont play much than low diff is ok, because its the best credits/time ratio. I play arenas always on pf, because need exp and dont wanna spend much stamina for average income.
UPD. Probably its time to train adept learner (only have 150/300).

DwD still slow with melee , unless you have very high damage output + high turn/s (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif)

I need nearly 80 minutes to clear PFU DwD , maybe I will get better clearing time if I change into full slaughter (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

but main problem is I'm poor (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif)

I do:

The last three Arenas: in Normal Difficulty for Tokens (Those Arenas are guaranteed to give you a token upon clearing) and trophies.

All the other Arenas: in PFUDOR/IWBTH. Usally PFUDOR for the best quality modifier (and EXP of course). IWBTH when I don't have much time to spend in HV.

I play as Elec Mage.

Ewww! You are using one of the "Safest but Slowest" build in HV!
You need to switch to at least Full-Shade for some firepower.
Also, you need to use either Buckler or Force Shield. Kite Shield is just not good enough.
And last but not the least, your weapon needs to be IWed to Lv.10 for a significant boost in clearing speed.
