GF without crystals perks is useless. Specially as mage.

Btw. how many gf rounds i could do with few mage sets? Lets say hell diff.

2. With 10m set
3. With 20m set

Hell GF:

Holy mage with 3 cotton with 2 phase (200% prof) can already reach 300 rounds without imperil and focus.
The cost is below 3m.

Elemental mage can reach a little bit deeper but slower.

Currently I'm using a ~20m set (4x 1m phase + 200k cotton + expensive staff + ~10m material cost for forging). Mostly end at 300-350 rounds in Nintendo GF.

That would explain it. I was largely absent from the net for about two months due to some family shit.

My exp/stamina seems to be approximately equal for GF @ PFUDOR as the 75 round arena. So I try to do the 80, 90, 100 and 150 round arenas + GF daily with whatever stamina is left before dropping below 80 stamina.

Reducing difficulty to last more rounds just makes repair costs worse.

I did a comparison of how many crystals I get per round in Grindfest @ PFUDOR, IWBTH, BT. IWBTH gets me just a little more, but I think the sacrifice in exp and stamina is not worth it. Playing at PFUDOR also gets somewhat better drops.

My target is exp, so this doesn't really answer your question. But I hope my perspective is still useful to you since I'm exactly at your level and with the same passive credit income (gold star). I'm not making tons of credits, but it's going up slowly. That's enough since I'm not buying anything currently.

Yes it is possible, but first you must afflict a target with soul fire.

1H is not efficient at Hell. When I use 1H, I only go for PF.
My holy set clear Nintendo round with only 1/3 of the time compare with my 1H set.

If I use ether tap, a 10m holy set (mag oak/kata,3 mag phase, 2 leg cotton) could clear hellfest with some luck (mobs kill you faster than your cure cooldown)

At your level, you can probably reach round 800

I can clear hellfest with my 2H estoc + heavy in 2013 before inactive for 1,5 year (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I was using 1H axe at beginning.
Then become 2H mace.
After the nerfed in stun and the physics damage bonus from OC removed, I switched to dark mage.
After a while, I switch to holy mage due to the MP consumption of dark spell.

Then, a new patch making mage cannot hit all target. And my level was too low to make my holy spell useful. I switched back to melee. I used 2H estoc at that time. It was also the time you were active. After a while, specific physical mitigation got nerfed. Protection also got nerfed. I switch to 1H for a while. However, good power armor is too expensive. So, I am backed to holy now.

You better have a set of each style. Who will know which style will be nerfed heavily in near future.


P.S:
After playing both melee and mage across a few patches. My observation is that Mage is always much faster than melee. Mage is safer than melee in most of the cases as well due to their ultra high fire power.
Everything 2H/DW can do could also be done by mage with less time.

It make melee really have no place at all. The exception is 1H with force shield. The extremely high block chance thus high stun chance make melee back to life.
