So as i was looking at the posts on this thread and i realised that Equipment doesn't have level listed anywhere.Is all equipment the same? For example, Is a Crude Leather Helmet of Protection bought at level 1 the same as one bought at level 200?

Also, does Power Armor gives less protection? Superlatanium weakly implied that they did.

For example Smax pmit for non-Protection plate helmet is 8.58, while the same for a Power helmet is 6.48. It's a pretty significant difference, though there is variation, so check each piece's stats first.

That said, I wouldn't bother thinking about Power gear until at least level 175 or so, once you're fighting high PL monsters and have a good idea of if the defense of your current gear is sufficient.

Equipment may become bound to level in the new patch, but for now, equipment automatically scales to level. (so a Superior thing picked up by a level 100 player could be functionally very similar to a Superior of the same type picked up by a level 500 player).

What is average mdb, edb, prof for 2-3m set?
And maybe something like evade/resist.

And a related question: how much should I plan to spend if I want a mage (elemental) set capable of doing all non-schoolgirl PF arenas? I want to get some gear but I don't want to spend more than 300k on something unless I'm sure it's good enough for PF at my level... which I won't know until I've bought equipment for every slot. I don't want to spend a couple week's income just to find out that what I got is just not quite good enough.

Maybe some sellers in WTB are willing to offer try-before-you-buy?

For pf probably quite expensive, because mage has very weak spot in defense, specially if its not holy.

I know about level scaling of equipment, and I know you can mouse over a stat in an equip pop-up to see the base value. However, according to the wiki, Penetrated Armor duration will also scale with levels. I can't see a base value with the pop-up; is the value shown there the base or the level-scaled duration? Also, the percent chance to proc always stays the same based on the specific rapier, right?

Speaking of Penetrated Armor, I notice that it refreshes the duration when it is stacked. Do all stacks stay for that full duration, or do the older ones "drop off" based on when they were originally applied? EDIT: Figured this one out (they all stay). Sorry for asking a dumb question. First two questions still stand, though.

Get Hentaiverse Equipment Comparison. Press w or b, and it will display the base PA duration. PA chance is static.

Still, where does it get the exact value from? Unlike other stats like damage/strength/etc, there doesn't seem to be a listing in the HTML for the base PA duration, and I don't know enough about JS to figure out what the script does.

i guess i need to have 2 sets of mage gear. 1 prof set with Leg prof staff + my prof cap for BT stuff & another set with Destruction staff + all phase set for IWTBH/PF.

I don't remember the math clearly but I recall that it is better to have a edb staff and more prof cloth rather than a prof staff and less prof cloth. Maybe Colman can confirm/deny this (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Just be careful of prof staves they're really expensive due to the limited market supply.

From my test result, you need 3+ phase of your element.

You guys have it all wrong. Prof staff is the BEST staff to have. It allows you to get all Radiant Phase, instead of frugal or charged cottons. I think n125 mentioned that recently as well. BTW I'm selling my prof holy katalox staff. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Leather is a dime a dozen, and staff isn't even close to Smax MDB.

If it's any consolation, I've only found one or two equips that might possibly be worth selling for 50k or so, despite my level.

You can go for Mystic which isn't terrible.... based on my quick calculations, on average mystic provides 50% the damage of radiant.

If you get your proficiency up, 1h + heavy (or even 1h + light) should outperform DW by leaps and bounds, especially now that you're running into high PL monsters.

But if you really really want to DW, your mainhand weapon should be something with high weapon damage (Waki and shortsword both have relatively low ADB) - probably a club so you can stun (almost certainly Ethereal of Slaughter). Offhand should be something with good parry and/or good proc - rapiers have both good parry and PA. Wakis have even better parry and less burden/interference, but no PA. Offhand weapon only contributes half its listed damage to damage done, so suffix should be of Nimble or Balance or something rather than Slaughter.

Still, you'll be in a whole lot of needless pain before you switch to 1h.
