imo, for now just don't worry too much about monsters lab. focus on leveling up yourself. monsters need to be in the PL1000+ to be able to regularly bring you gifts. also, the payback period seems to be 1+yr. probably more for higher lvl monsters. though, if you've have extra token/crystals, you can slowly upgrade 1 main monster then have a bunch of PL25-100 guys. Scavenger/Fortitude monster training can be useful, though, a lot of people just Max Scavenger and call it a day. This post has been edited by malkatmp: Feb 10 2015, 17:47

Okay, thanks!
Another question: I have been wondering what is more beneficial for training: the item world or grindfest, I've been doing item world because I figured it might be same as training in grindfest but with a bonus to whatever equipment you train. Is there really any differrence? (I'm improving exq gear)

as you can see they are less or more tha same, except for the crystal drops multiplier: if meanwhile you also want to upgrade your monster(s) go for grindfest; otherwise, item world is the way

Based on that formula ((Base_PXP - 100) * 0.004), its only about a 1.05% increase. Is that accurate-ish?

Mostly nope. But probably at you lvl there is difference in pl lvl of mobs on different difficulties. And if yes than you ll get additional loot drop chance. So base chance is 10% (up to 12.5% with full scavenger) and also up to 15% additional chance from pl level of mob (PL - 500) / 50. So you can see its capped at 1250pl.
But exactly token drop chance is same. It depends only on tokenizer (training) and arena Challenge / ring of blood clear Bonus (15-25%?). Base chance is near 0.2% per each loot roll, so with higher pl (higher diff) you can get more rolls and more tokens until some lvl. Dont know which exactly, but for me any diff is always cap.

With the monsters, doesn't keeping an army of low levels cost a hell of a ton? Given the amount that happy pills cost? (Even player bought ones)

Using crystals to upgrade them every so often is quite cheap, though after a while they'll be at a high enough PL that the minimum crystal requirement is too much, and happy pills are better - but I don't think that happens for a long time. Then again, my drain rate is lower due to gold star. I have around 30 monsters, none of which have gotten above 60 yet, so the upkeep cost feels insignificant.

Question, when did Full-Cure become a thing? I just noticed it when I was fixing up my quickbar.

It unlocks at level 220, I believe. Very useful when recovering from a Spark of Life trigger.
