After Lv.200 the best choice is to switch to 1H style (1H+power armor or 1H+shade armor) to be able to play safely at higher difficulties.

This is my current equip and I'm playing DW+Shade

I know that is not so good and so, after I have read that it's better switch to 1H+power or 1H+shade, I think that it's better change something before it's too late. So... what should I do?

I've been lurking for a while and have some doubts about what I should focus on given my current lvl/build/items.

I'm not really sure if it's better to buy better equipment right now or spend time on IW for the items I have and save the credits for training (I'm just at lvl 60~ adept learner)

Also, should I consider switching to 1H or 2H instead of DW?

Good equipments usually have as many primary attributes as possible - like your Breastplate (in addition to having good mitigation stats). If you skip out on Strength and Endurance on every other equip like you have now, you're giving up on having maybe 1.3x more damage and 1.4x more health, which will really help if you can get it.

Also, if you're going for a Shade/Evade based style, an Ethereal mainhand weapon will be near essential for reducing burden (in addition to the Void bonus).

Item worlds often take quite a lot of time and credits to upgrade equipment to a point that you'll see any difference, so they're worth the effort only if your equipment is superb. Unless you have a nice Magnificent and can handle at least the BT IW, wait until later.

I'm level 290-something and only just started being able to play IW somewhat efficiently.

uh... basically all your build has to be rebuilt (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

at this point, start looking for a prefixed rapier of slaughter (shortsword is fine too, if you want a cheaper choice), and EMax block force shield and some power armors - begin with protection and warding since they are the cheapest types. look at auctions and buy the leftovers, it should be enough to give you a decent starting set within 250~400k range

Best combination is rapier of slaughter+force shield (nevermind the suffix for this one) if you play with power armor. For 1h+shade, I'd go for an ethereal rapier+buckler of the barrier or a kite shield with high block in order to minimize the burden/interference so that you don't lose the shade armor's advantages...

I just bought a new set of DW weapons and want to max them in item world. Since my current DW set was maxed a bid ago when only butcher and swift strike were available I want to know what I have to look out for now.

All are Ethereal weapons

For mainhand slaughter axe which are the best potencies?
For mainhand slaughter club which are the best potencies?
For offhand balance rapier which are the best potencies?

And what about the stat priority?

Power armor? I cannot use the shade one?

Power is recommended, but start with shade if you already have a set.

they say overpower is a must for both, as much as you're able to gain.
in second position, fatality is nice to have - still for both.
plus, butcher for mainhand and swift for offhand

even though i would've preferred a rapier of nimble as offhand...

Swift Strike is mostly a defensive potency, so you may prefer the other potencies if you're strong enough and aiming for clear time.
For mainhand slaughter whatever, Butcher is king. It's even boosted by forging. I'd recommend to put also some levels of Overpower on the Axe (or maybe Fatality?), and Fatality on the Club (stun should mitigate the need for counter-parry).
For offhand balance, I'd recommend anything but Butcher. Fatality and Overpower for example.

Nimble is another popular suffix because of the +50% parry from offhand. It's more defensive.

BTW, I am assuming here that the more you level, the less extra defense (from weapons) you need.

Note that Niten doesn't have the +50% parry from offhand. Still, Wakis have a very high parry.

Assuming Shade DW, Fatality > everything else. It gives you a multiplier on damage that effects all damage, instead of just the weapon's damage like butcher. The bonus is also strengthened by your high crit chance.
Butcher is good for main hand, anything else for offhand. Getting perfect potencies is expensive and time consuming, I would just aim for ~4-5 fatality and whatever else you get. Save getting the 5/4s for when you have the weapons you are willing to forge to +100 damage.

No, it means that you missed completely. It may happen when your hit chance is lower than 100%. Using Arcanist gear and having a high WIS helps against that.

Shadowdancer. It has the same max value for evade than Fleet (albeit shadowdancer's evade has less chance to be as good as Fleet's, I think?) and some crit chance. Prefer to use equipment with all the possible PABs.

You may raise your INT, just for the SPs. Otherwise, keep it that way. If you switch to heavy armor, you will have to lower your AGI.
