(IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Wut?

Please speak clearly, we have the 1.1. and i have still just residual blood in my alcohol.

lol, i know how it works, yesterday it was the same for me too (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

however, you said this is your 36.16 base, forge lv10 shield - which btw means ~LMax block.

wiki gives this formula to calculate the projected stat following an upgrade. putting [final block = 36.16] and [forge_count = 10] into it we have that you have earned +13.9% block from forging, and initial base should have been 31.75, which means EMax-1

it's reported to be inaccurate but i just tried it on my own shield and it works with <1% error (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

So the "base" isnt the "base" anymore after forging. No wounder the base stats of my rapier where way better than any other rapier i found. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

But, in that case, could the rapier i sent to an auction be better than my own. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif)

Stupid system.

That's why it's better to check the base unforged equip's stats using the key "T" in place of "B".

They are talking of the base value. To see them, use the Equipment Comparison script and press b while checking an equipment.

Scremaz posted a link to the HV Equipment Comparison 0.6.4.0.

There it's clearly written:

QUOTE

- Added " T " hotkey to calculate approximate base values before forge&iw (not sure about iw part)
-- work only on pages where you can see "Upgrades and Enchantments"

It works.

If that's not the case for you two, if you can't read, can't make it work and above all show zero respect towards those who give pointers and lend a helping hand... then though luck. It's not my problem.

In general...

Giants, Arthropods & Dragonkin

My own question... Stoney's offering 1m for Tenboro's Boxes... should I sell mine?

I believe it has max multiplier bonus. So you decide. It is basically the best trophy but it doesn't mean you are going to get perfect equip.

If the popularity of high-PL monsters is saying anything:
QUOTE(Dan31 @ Sep 14 2014, 11:53) *

Check out [hvlist.niblseed.com] Jenga's Monster database for a list of high level monsters.

I did the count check for you:

Giant: 425 (14.38%)
Dragonkin: 317 (10.72%)
Mechanoid: 305 (10.32%)
Elemental: 293 (9.912%)
Celestial: 262 (8.863%)
Humanoid: 230 (7.781%)
Undead: 228 (7.713%)
----7.692%----
Arthropod: 226 (7.645%)
Sprite: 156 (5.277%)
Daimon: 152 (5.142%)
Beast: 147 (4.973%)
Reptilian: 121 (4.093%)
Avion: 94 (3.180%)

In general, monsters with a high END are more appreciated than the others (I'm kinda surprised by the relatively low count of Arthropods, they aren't bad at all). Celestials are great too because of how freaking damaging their magical skill attacks are (plus, magic is the main weakness of heavy armor, and 1H/power is pretty popular these days).

And if you need a guide to get started with the Monster Lab:
QUOTE(Dan31 @ Oct 11 2014, 23:05) *

http://ehwiki.org/wiki/Monster_Lab

For a start, I recommend you to choose a monster class with a good END and decent STR/DEX (like Giant, Undead, Dragonkin, Mechanoid...). Never choose 'slashing' as basic attack type, because no armor is particularly vulnerable to slash (light armor's melee weakness is pierce, heavy armor's is crush). Feed your monster with monster food, and raise its PL to at least 25 by feeding it crystals (END is the priority, then STR or DEX depending on how high the base stat is). Never raise INT for a monster who can't use magical attacks (unless you just want to inflate the PL). Once it is at least PL 25, name it and it will appear in battles. Name its skill attack (he won't use it otherwise). Regarding chaos upgrades, the most interesting ones are Scavenging, Fortitude, and Brutality. Don't hesitate to take the first chaos level of everything, as it is cheap (only 1 token) and every upgrade reduces the morale bar drain rate.

Remember to feed your monsters regularly (like every day or every 2 days), they starve after 3 days otherwise (starving monsters have a higher morale drain). If you take a break or a vacation, don't worry, after 3 days of not playing HV, your monsters will stop losing morale till you get back.

Try to raise your monster to PL 200 (at PL 200, monsters gain a second skill attack and get a reduced morale drain). Don't forget to name the second skill. Make a bunch of PL 200 monsters that way.

Monsters will regularly give you gifts. If you are lucky, you may get a binding of slaughter (~160k on the market), a binding of destruction (~80k), a crystallized phazon (~240k), a defense matrix modulator (~40k), a shade fragment (~40k), a repurposed actuator (~30k), a binding of protection (~30k), a binding of the ox (~30k), a binding of the cheetah (~40k), a binding of the owl (~30k)...

Don't focus too much on monster lab at your level. Try to not buy crystals from the shop, as it is cheaper to buy them from other players (they usually sell them by batch of thousands though).

Note that the prices of the gifts have changed a bit since then.

The Repair Bear perks are way too expensive to get them right off the bat, in my opinion. The default equipment wear rate isn't really that bad, so you should play a bit to see how you like it first.

Vigorous Vitality, Effluent Ether, and a few IA perks are a good start though. I'd probably do something like IA 1-4, Vigorous Vitality, Effluent Ether, Resplendent Replenishment, and Daemon Duality. 4100 hath total. If you plan on playing a lot of Grindfest, then it might be better to drop Daemon Duality for all three Crystarium perks.

If I had 4000 Hath...
No need of RB for me because the HV conditioner script makes repairing stuff easy enough.
About VV, personally I think it's for x6+ GF or DwD@PF, get the perk if you can't do both.
Not sure about EE, as a melee player I'm doing fine without it in x6 GF and DwD@BT.
Since I only play arenas most of the time and I'm doing fine without IA, the only Hath perk that interests me right now is DD.
So I'd get DD first, and for the rest of the Hath, I'd make a "Hath Loan" thread in the WTS forum to loan other members Hath to earn interest.

Maybe I'm mistaken in what it does.Wouldn't the Repair Bear reduce the interference and burden by half, so I can parry or evade more?
edit : How stupid, I see they added a condition bar to the items, what were they thinking.

I stopped the game back then because I was bored of having to go full Rambo every god-damn second with my 2 Hand Build Warrior who doesn't evade or parry shit, even using a mace for the stun but I could never relax for even a second.
Demon Duality seems hella expensive for just 10% damage, I think I should focus on the tank aspect and ditch the mace for a badass Estoc for more attacking power.

Anyway, I have time to decide because right now I can't sell my 175,000 kGP + , thanks to the market not picking up since a few months...

You'll be more bored if you switch to 1H. It's all about hit, hit, hit, Regen, hit, hit, yaypony, hit, hit, Regen, hit, OFC... and so on. 1H counter with stun is totally broken.

If YOU are the one who have 4000 Haths, seriously get 1H power suits, OFC, Adept learner and anything that boost EXP, then worry about other perk late.
