QUOTE(djackallstar @ Dec 30 2014, 10:57) The money you gain by selling scraps you don't need is too little to be worth the effort (time-wise) to salvage those equips one by one in the forge. However, if you know how to use the Item Manager script to help you salvage multiple equips in short periods of time, then that's another story.
Yup, I'm using an expression "-$locked,crude|average|fair" to sieve out crap for bazaar or salvage. So, does selling scrap at 90c work out better than if I had directly sold to the bazaar?

1. need to check the value to decide bazaar or salvage (181~200, 271~300, 361~400 should bazaar) 2. only wood and cloth have stable 90c scrap value can we check item values without clicking them one by one?

QUOTE(mozilla browser @ Dec 30 2014, 09:15) From the responses to #60643, I take it that my woes are mid-level Mage woes. I think/hope it shouldn't take too long to get to Lvl 310, so back to the Magi's question, haha, since time isn't really free. Currently, I can clear the challenges: - Eternal Darkness - barely cleared at Normal with all Mana pots expended and running low on Magic. - End of Days - barely cleared at Hard - the remaining challenges on the second Arena page at Hell - the challenges on the first Arena page at Nintendo I'm trying to decide for myself which Arenas to fight and which difficulty levels to play. What is good for XP, for credits, and for any other factors (stamina efficiency?) Should I clear from the top-down, or bottom up? I'm trying to put together a table to compare and guesstimate these factors, but would like to know what're your thoughts since conventional wisdom is usually right. I think I might skip re-clearing Eternal Darkness. As-is, luck rolls may go against me (less Mana gems) and I may fail to clear the last rounds. And, Normal difficulty means no shard drops. Haha Yeah at our level melee or mage, its difficult to clear Eternal Darkness again and at higher levels at that. As for my strategy when I cleared it in NORMAL (1H + Heavy Armor) The 41 rounds of 2 monsters was easy to clear (No potions needed, just used Focus to convert overcharge into Mana to cast cure sometimes) The other rounds same (focus + isolating SG). Only used potions during the last rounds (But surprisingly I had some potions left, haven't used as much as i had first thought) But this Arena took me about 1 hour to complete and it was night. (Almost fell asleep when clearing it, had to drink coffee to keep me awake) And umm as for me, I do the level 1 - 100 Arenas at PFUDOR till Fresh Meat where I switch to Nintendo and the last 2 rounds, I go with Hell. I could do Fresh Meat to Powerflux at PF but thats when I'm really free and not busy cause they are time consuming and I have to calculate exactly when to cast things or not.

Don't waste your time doing this, the amount of credits you gain is very minor. In the time it would takes, just play a couple of rounds and you will earn more (or take a break if you are playing too hard).

QUOTE(massa @ Dec 30 2014, 14:01) Hey all,
If anyone has a mind to, I would love to get a bit of advice! I started out using the HentaiVerse Advice guide on the wiki, which has helped me a lot. I chose the 2H/Light Armor style, using a mace for the stun, and that has been working decently so far. I can currently easily handle most battles on Battletoads. Any difficulty higher and there is a chance I might die. In any case, I'm not sure what the best way to move forward is. Any tips or advice, such as anything I might be doing wrong or could do better or that I haven't done but should do, would be great. I'm open to changing my style up if I need to, or even just to mix things up and try something different...
Your stat seems ok. Just to confirm, are you using all available buff? It can greatly improve your survival-ability. At your level it is good to have IA 1 (hath perk, cost 50 hath) and put haste there. It can help you raise your supportive prof. For training, Max pat rate as soon as possible. It is very important to carry more pots into long battle. The drop related training can wait. Or you can get the first few level when they are still cheap. Ability point should be sufficient for melee so you do not need to get Ability Boost. P.S: Once you hit level 200, you may want to switch to 1H power. In general, yes. However, since nobody is buying scrap leather and scrap metal, you may only want to salvage equips made of cloth and wood. (unless you need scrap leather or scrap metal) Personally what I do is grind a couple of days, and salvage equips using the script. That way, I spend as little time as possible on salvaging and it grants a decent amount of credits than simply bazarring.

Which brings me to wonder - why do people buy scrap cloth & wood? Afaik, it's only used for repairs. And if I am a mage and have sufficient scrap materials to repair my own gear, surely others would too? Or - is it because they're playing at high difficulty / with high Lotd, and so all of their equipment drops are superior+ which therefore gives graded materials and little scrap? QUOTE(n125 @ Dec 30 2014, 14:30) Regarding the schoolgirl marathons, they might be easier if you think of the schoolgirls as MP batteries. They have the most HP, so they're the last to die in the round; in other words, they're easy to isolate. Weaken, Silence, and then spam your cheapest spell (probably Weaken or some T1 elemental spell) until Coalesced Mana procs. Then hit it with your staff until Ether Tap procs, and repeat the process. Also don't forget to convert the Overcharge you build up into MP. Just keep going until the schoolgirl dies or your MP is back to a level that you're comfortable with.
I'm not sure if it's possible to have a net positive MP gain using this method at your current level though, but if it works then you can clear the marathons without using a single potion. Of course, the main drawback is time, so you have to strike a balance between Ether Tap and potion usage.
Wow, that's a great idea/tip. Thanks! I'm gonna go try it out. ... It works! But omg, the amount of time it is taking >.< And i can't just use spell spam to hover or press number. This post has been edited by mozilla browser: Dec 30 2014, 11:34

I noticed some mobs has very low hp (usually sprite or some elemental, avion and mechanoid). So i was wondering is it worth to attack em first? Mostly celestial has average hp and its quite hard to notice em (maybe some script can help). But also usually its just low powerlevel mobs (900-1k) and maybe they are weaker so i shouldnt focus on em much.
Usually they have 50-70k. Average is near 100k and some powerful (1600+) mobs have 150k. In theory killing easy target first ll reduce amount of mobs faster.
Also seems critical has 100% chance to proc. How to count it proper? Critical+Proc from weapon? I mean in theory without miss and buffs. F.e. i have 30% crit chanse and 25% proc. Does it mean i have 55% chanse?

some reasons I can think of. 1. They play so many games that the number of scraps gained can't keep up with that of needed. 2. They have 25/25 LotD that grants more Superior and Exquisite drops, hence less Average- drops. 3. They play x15 GF and x20 arenas, whose tier multipliers increase the chance of getting drops with better quality, hence less Average- drops. 4. They are so rich that instead of salvaging equips for scraps, they tend to buy from others players, just for convenience.

In theory, yes. In practice, I do not even look at the monsters name. It is tiring to focus on their name. If I cannot clear some stage without reading their name, I prefer lower the difficult. The chance = 30% + (1-30%) *25% = 47.5%

I'm open to changing my style up if I need to, or even just to mix things up and try something different... Here are all of my stats and gear: (snip) Thanks in advance for taking a look. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) The general build is ok. Regarding equipment, maybe buy an exquisite ethereal mace of slaughter with 3 PABs and shade gear of the fleet with decent Evade and 4 PABs, or just prepare to switch to 1H around lvl 200 and get a rapier, force shield, and power armor. Use the Equipment Comparison script to check the stats of equipment. Regarding abilities, you may put some APs in Better/Faster Imperil and use Imperil against individual monsters with a high defense (for groups, the T2 skill should be enough). Unlock your spike shield slot (the blue one) and put some points in Frost Spike Shield (one or two levels is enough). Regarding trainings, continue focusing on Pack Rat and Adept Learner, and raising Ability Boost when needed. I wouldn't have advised to start with a Daimon as a first monster given its low END and lack of power without its strongest skills. You may want to use scripts to help you. I recommend Mousemelee (Hover over monsters to attack) or SpellSpam (if you are a mage), Show Gems (directly show gems you get without having to open the item menu), NoPopup (skips the "You are victorious" popup), Random Encounter Notification (track the time to the next RE, click on Ready when the cooldown expires), Riddle Limiter (answer more easily to the pony captchas), Equipment Comparison (Q/W/E/R/F/B in an equipment popup for various functions)... Killing weaker targets first is recommended, since monsters with a low END are generally stronger offensively than the rest (with high-power skill attacks). No, because the chances overlap. The chance to get at least either a crit or a proc is (1 - the chance to get neither) = (1-((1-0.30)*(1-0.25))) = 0.475 = 47.5%. QUOTE(licher @ Dec 30 2014, 10:06) I am wondering if it's worth to take the time to max the potency of these equipment? or should I just get a better stats stuff?
I'm mostly after the block and parry chance these stuff gives.
Your gear is bad overall. The shield is okay for your level, but you should get a rapier of slaughter and some Power armor. Wakizashi doesn't proc Penetrated armor, and works poorly with Heavy armor since the high burden nukes the attack speed and the effects of AGI (the effects of DEX too if the burden is high enough). You can use the Free Shop btw. This post has been edited by Dan31: Dec 30 2014, 12:16

Yea, thx. I knew i missed something in overlap.
Maybe i ll try once to kill weaker first, but mostly its a bit tiring. Much easier to kill in first-last order.

Yeah, it takes forever. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) But it's not like you have to do it every round; you only have to do it just enough that you finish the arena with one or two potions left. For instance, when I was lower level trying to do End of Days on PFUDOR, I figured out that if I used Ether Tap exclusively for the first 55 rounds, I could safely rely on potions the rest of the way. Ether Theft is another solution. I experimented with it in the Summer, and while it was kind of a pain to use, as long as I set it up once per schoolgirl round, I was able to clear PFUDOR DwD without using a single potion. Even while I was spending MP to cycle through offensive spells while Ether Theft was active, by the time it expired I'd usually end up with a net gain of about 400 MP. On higher difficulties, unless you invest in damage perks and high-end forged gear, it's unlikely that you'll be able to complete the marathons without supplementing potions somehow. Being dark does give you an advantage so I may be off in my thinking, but... these things grow to around 2 million HP each at my level.

I have light armor and DW. My main problem right now is lack of mana. Even with 12/15 item slots for blue pots, I have to spend around half my time just Focusing or I'll run out after 50 or so rounds. On later rounds, especially in IW, I'm more inclined to spend OC on Frenzied instead because the mobs hit so hard that the MP cost for healing without using Frenzied is probably more than the MP gained from Focus. As is I still can't reliably handle more than around 60 IW rounds on Nintendo, and the lesser difficulties just don't give enough PXP per hour spent in the game. Is there anything I can do about this at my level without having lots of credits for expensive equipment upgrades?
On a somewhat different subject: the big improvements from level 50-250 seemed to come mostly from proficiencies, with more damage, tankiness, and lowered Cure cost. There are level 300+ players who seem to have similar "big improvements" over my current capabilities - like 70-round IWs in less than 5 minutes, or 1000 rounds of Grindfest in only a couple hours. What does that sort of huge potential come from? It doesn't seem like improved proficiencies or abilities and better equipment could affect quite that much.
Right now I've been trying to get a couple levels of Juggernaut on all my equipment for increased survivability and cure/regen efficiency, but it's takes me a long time just to get the credits to pay for an amnesia shard when I don't get lucky. Everyone says that Arenas are the place to get credits quick, but even when I do a schoolgirl arena on Battletoads (a couple hours) I'm only up 10k-15k after selling junk. Were it not for the first clear credit bonuses, I'd really be in trouble. Am I just really slow or something?

By Frenzied, don't you mean Spirit Stance? Not to be confused with DW's T3 skill, Frenzied Blows, which does nothing to your mana consumption. I would say it is still a bit early to IW a lot at your level. Wait for lvl ~300. Don't bother with reforging either. When people say "clear arenas to get credits quick" they mean the early arenas, not the SG ones. DW is great for SG arenas though. What's your current equipment? (Hover over a piece of equipment and press 'c' to get a link to it.) Oh wait, you are using axe + nimble waki? If Scremaz recommended builds with a rapier, it's for a good reason, Penetrated Armor is a great offensive proc. Similarly, Stun is a great defensive proc. Combine both, and tadaa~ you will have a much easier time. Go for Ethereal Club of Slaughter + Ethereal rapier of Balance/Nimble. You may also try Ethereal Rapier of Slaughter + Hallowed Wakizashi of Nimble and Ethereal Axe of Slaughter + Ethereal Rapier of Balance/Nimble. This post has been edited by Dan31: Dec 30 2014, 12:52
