At that stage (no mana) you might be screwed. Try save your overcharge and spam focus when there is one mob remaining (focus restores ~5% base mana for 25% overcharge, but you take more damage and can't parry/block/evade for 2 turns).

Usually you want to wait until you are much stronger to IW equipment, as lesser equipment is not worth the effort.

Ok thanks

@lessfull You need to post in the forums at least once daily for 20 days out of a 30 day sliding window in order to maximize your Dawn experience.

QUOTE(lordvaliant @ Dec 18 2014, 20:21) *

A few questions come to mind:
Equipment & items
1. my equipment inventory is maxed out, if I sell all does it automatically sell the ones I equipped too? any way to save the good ones, so they don't get sold as well?
2. Do monster level effect credit drops? is it faster to gain credits playing high levels (it takes a lot more time to clear levels) or playing at low levels? the only difference I noticed is I get 3x crystal drops, and better quality items at higher levels... I dunno how level/difficulty effects credits
3. what level do monsters start dropping mags and legs?

1) Items that are locked or equipped do not appear in the Equipment Shop, so you can't sell them.

2) The credit drop chance is static, so it is not affected by anything. The amount of credits dropped, however, is affected by the difficulty setting and battle mode.

The difficulty setting also affects the tier roll, so you have a better chance of getting rare-class equipment (power armor, etc) on higher difficulties. It also affects your loot quality bonus, so you have a better chance at finding higher-quality items when playing on higher difficulties.

3) It's not related to monster level. The equipment quality is based on the difficulty setting, your Luck of the Draw training, and the battle mode - arenas and the Ring of Blood grant static bonuses, while Grindfest and Item World grant scaling bonuses that increase the deeper you go.

QUOTE(lordvaliant @ Dec 18 2014, 20:21) *
Monster Lab:
1. which chaos upgrade do you deem is most useful?
2. is it better to use chaos upgrades on a few ones on all their stats or to use them to make more monsters? same goes to crystals, do we get more items by focusing upgrading 1 monster to a really high level, or having a lot of so so monsters?
uh that's it... thanks

1) Everyone has their own preferences, but Scavenging is probably high on everyone's list.

2) I haven't invested in the Monster Lab heavily so I'm not sure. All of my average PL monsters seem pretty useless while my few PL ~1000s bring full loads of gifts on a near-daily basis.

Aha, is this also everyone else's experience? I've been feeding my monsters minimally (just enough crystals to get morale into green when it goes yellow), and their PL rate of increase is at a snail's pace, and the rate of gifts too...

thanks for the fast reply!
How many crystals did it require to get monsters up to >1000 level? I'm guessing somewhat like more than 100k crystals?

yeah, pretty much... I've got only about a dozen monsters, leveling them up slowly and upgraded them on scavenging, and have pretty much that same experience.

i was wondering if i should switch to light armor. i noticed on my recent titles that you get evade bonus but since i use heavy armor and m burden is at 77 i get no benefit from the bonus. light armor only loses out about 1-2% on mitigation a piece and also have resist spell chance and evade on top of it.

I'm pretty much just butt hurt that the one armor type i went with can't utilize some of the final title bonuses. i feel like there should be an option to change it to resist or perry chance. :[

If you are using 2H/DW, light armor work better. If you are using 1H, you can switch some piece to power armor. Full Plate are useless in this patch.

this makes me really sad cause i have no proficiency invested in anything other than heavy and 1H. I have 3 pieces of power armor that some gentleman/gentlewoman sent me as freebies when i started. do you think i should just keep working on my heavy and hope that a patch eventually comes out to make it useful again?

Unless you plan on using heavy armor forever, which probably isn't a good idea, might as well switch to Light to be more effective, even though for the first couple of days the lack of ability bonuses due to low proficiency will make it a tiny bit harder.

Also, proficiency gains slow the closer your proficiency gets to your actual level. Eg if you're level 160 and have heavy armor 140, you'll be gaining heavy prof much more slowly than if you have light armor and are getting light prof. It won't take too long for your Light proficiency to get to near your current Heavy prof - so if you feel like it, go for it, there's not much of a downside.

b. not buying stuff is the best way to save credits, say you average 200k/day, you'll get ~1.4mil/wk.

Is this sort of income actually realistic? I know I'm on a lower level and I'm playing on a lower difficulty, but it still takes me hours just to get 10k. I'm usually in Item Worlds and I know that it has a credit drop nerf, but still.

QUOTE(Dan31 @ Dec 17 2014, 13:48) *

If you are lucky, you may get a binding of slaughter (~160k on the market), a binding of destruction (~80k), a crystallized phazon (~240k), a defense matrix modulator (~40k), a shade fragment (~40k), a repurposed actuator (~30k), a binding of protection (~30k), a binding of the ox (~30k), a binding of the cheetah (~40k), a binding of the owl (~30k)...

Interesting, I have quite a few of those in my inventory(Slaughter, Owl, Protection. Maybe a shade fragment.). I haven't even checked the WTS/WTB section of the site yet since I've always hated dealing with auctions/sales through forums. But I kept those since the 10(100?) credit per item at the shop seems useless. Figured I might be able to use them at some point.
Good to know I might be sitting on a fair bit of credits, though. If I ever get around to it.

Been running Arena on Hard/Hell when possible lately and really enjoying the exp jump, even if it takes more focus than just spamming 1-1-1-2-2-2-3-3-3 etc on my keyboard.
I can usually get to about level 20-30 in Grindfest on Nintendo, I think, before I start getting pushed out too.

Anyhow, I noticed someone mentioning the Random Battles from browsing ehentai.
I'm just wondering, am I missing out on much? I use ex for pretty much everything since I'm lazy and don't want to alternate between sites, so I haven't even seen a single random encounter.
Last time I went there was just to sell a few Hath I got from a Precursor.

Random encounters have an EXP bonus of 5x, a credit multiplier of 3x, and a loot drop chance equal to that of a final round of an Arena challenge. And since it's only one round, you can do it at a higher difficulty than usual since you don't need to worry about conserving mana. You should do them if you want to level up quickly.

What's going on? There aren't any patches telling something about new daily RBF system..

That's because you don't post on the forum. Posting at least once per day during the last 30 days gives you a +5% exp multiplier, capping at +100% (20 days), and it also raises the exp you get at dawn. It is known as the forum posting bonus.

Yeah. At max Scavenger, Luck of the Draw, and Quartermaster, you tend to walk away with about 250k after completing all of the arenas on PFUDOR and selling all of the junk loot. You can get quite a bit more if you also take the time to sell the Artifacts (or Energy Drinks) you find and high-grade materials you get from salvaging common-class junk magnificents and legendaries.

If you had all the time in the world, you could probably net about a million or so per day out of Grindfest.

Random Encounters have a 5x experience modifier, which is higher than that of any arena. If your stamina is over 80 and you clear them on the highest difficulty, you can get quite a bit of experience out of them. The loot drop chance is also very high, like the final rounds of arenas, but the odds of getting something nice are, of course, very low.

I assume that you're at least visiting the front E-H page or a non-fjords gallery to collect your daily Dawn bonus. You don't want to miss out on that.

I think I get ~ 100k just running through the available arena levels again. Factor in the drops and that's a bit more.

Ouch stolen credit.

QUOTE(m118w11 @ Jul 8 2014, 18:20) *

See image for other values. This assumes you upgrade all stats evenly and spend up to the appropriate number of packs, ie. If you spend 1000 crystals (rounding up) you will end up with a power level of 228. The bonus is for incremental increases, ie. if you previously spent 141 packs, spending another 23 packs, you will get 66 more power level.

Any idea where's the sweet spot where they start bringing meaningful gifts?

Someone suggested this happens at PL1000+. Which, at 88 packs is about 6m credits in purchased crystals or opportunity cost. Do they really produce 6m credits worth of gifts subsequently?
