I know it's a metaphysical question and probably stupid, but what about hybrid builds? I know that if you want to play melee for example, the best path to take is a light armor with 2H/DW or a heavy armor with one handed+shield.
But what about heavy armor+2H for example?

Mace + Heavy Armor should work reasonably well. Or Longsword/Estoc of Slaughter + Power of Slaughter set if your aim is to clear arenas at low difficulty quickly for the credit/token clear bonuses.

also shade + 1H has some aficionados. DW + heavy isn't all that good instead

At low levels proficiencies tend to lag behind because of how quickly you can level up. Once things slow down, proficiencies will catch up pretty quickly, in particular the proficiencies that you frequently use, like your weapon and armor proficiencies. You may have to grind Deprecating and Supportive proficiencies, since those aren't used as often.

It's normal, you will level up pretty fast compared to your prof at the beginning. As leveling up needs greater and greater amounts of exp, your leveling up rate will slow down and your prof will catch up eventually.

Ah, I see. So I shouldn't worry about my proficiencies being low for now, at least. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

1) 10, maybe 20 when i'm very interested in the item. i'm a bit scroogy. this time i felt like exaggerating so i went for 50, but it will probably be the only time

2) when i see an item that may be a sensible update to my current equip or when i see a pot high enough to try to go for some artifacts/tokens. not always the first prize is the best one

3) i placed only once, and won a peerless plate. nothing special, but at least i own a peerless (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool2.gif)

my opinion: a ticket costs roughly 200c (with a ~10% spread), so you can surely afford to throw in a few every now and then, but don't play in events like today's (legendary ethereal rapier of slaughter, with all stats in M~L range) expecting to win. hope for it, but not more (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

this lottery sold 179890 (almost 200k) tickets, so every ticket gives you 5.55E-4 % chance to win: in my case, it would mean 0.028 % chance, almost zero. and it has already been proved that 52% may not be enough to win - or, as tenboro said it means 48% chance not to win. but almost zero is still better than exactly zero and 10k for such a rapier is nothing, so i tried anyways

And I am back to ask another question. Is Power of balance or slaughter better? Cause I am like desperately trading my power armors for others.

slaughter. balance doesn't give nearly as much damage since 1H crit chance isn't that high anyway; better than nothing though.

Anyways, I'll take a wild guest that your Power Slaughter set are missing End stat or bad overall compare to Balance. It's normal though, Power Slaughter is a very demanding equip and also rare in term of good stats. (someone should seriously stop shrining 1000 noddies for staves already (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) )
If you're in trouble because of bad defend from full Slaughter, there's still something we can do:
o LV up to 250 for extra block ( (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) )
o Lower your difficulty (last resort)
o Optimized your build
1. Optimum build for 1H Heavy
Hallowed/Ethereal Rapier of Slaughter
Force Shield (with good block chance)
Full Power Slaughter
This build has lots of firepower, but still have enough block from shield for survival. Do priority in max out your block by any mean possible and let's other run their course naturally.
The only weakness is probably mana consumption, we're talking bout 170%MC here so don't use any more than Haste, Regen, Protection and always spark Heartseeker. Consider some Feather if you're struggle with mana.

2. Battlecaster build

Buckle of battlecaster
4 Power Slaughter + 1 Power/Shielding Plate (with 3PAB and good PMI, MMI)
This build is mean to compensate the previous build's lack of MP, and allow you to cast more buffs like SoL and Spirit Shield for even more survival. Forging block for buckle is cheap, plus extra defend from 1 piece armor make it close to first build in term of defend and survival. The weakness is obviously firepower (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) .

3. Shielding build
Rapier of Slaughter
Force Shield
3 Shielding plate + 2 Power Slaughter
This one tried to get as much block as possible, mix in some Slaughter for a little more firepower. It's slow, but very good block if forge well. The firepower is disastrous, though.

That said, just optimize what you want, we're all bored ponies folks anyways (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Thanks for the suggestion, I just happened to be trading my power armor without END for armors with END. It somehow worked out in the end with pickled Cow and blackdevil. The people here on the forums are much nicer than the ones on the galleries.

Full power slaughter may be hard at your level . With the shield in my signature , I need to mix a plate of protection in my 1h set until I reached lv380 . Btw , mix a piece or two of balance may be good as it can increase the crit chance thus PA chance .

So i got 0s cd weaken and wanna increase my deprecating proficiency. Easies way is open fest, cast once and then press R. But is it ok? I mean my screen starting to blink fast. Is it allowed?

Actually i noticed its more changing in skillbook tabs than recast. So in 1s i got few recasts and 10 changing.

BTW, I have tried to put 50%+ ticket once and still get nothing. It was in the times that 2-5 price give GP.
