QUOTE(buktore @ Apr 11 2011, 16:40) - Get more WIS - Get more Aura. - Get better gear... - At this point, don't worry about how you allocated stat point too much, it can always be fix later with not much difficulty. - Melee is fine on its own. But compared to Maging (broken), it still way too underpower and need much more efforts. You get to do more stuff playing Melee, though. - Most high LV. people are pure mage, so your impressions that "pure mage don't work well" is obviously false. - Poison is worth getting if you have AP to spare. You only need it to fight bosses. - At your LV, Heavy only work when the situations allowed it (like cakefest or Item world). Evade is what you should focus on for now. Later on, you can start to use more exotic gear combination if you not switch to mage yet at that point... - Try not to play Cake too much, it hinder your progress.
EDIT:: add something.
gotcha. thanks. "add something"?

QUOTE(Ballistic9 @ Apr 11 2011, 19:10)  Just want to add: 5/5 AP Sleep & Confuse have a 50% chance of not dispelling on damage (10% @ 1 AP).
I think I was around level 280 when I maxed confuse, and that was only because I was using the AP's I got from leveling up.

i was wondering if these are worth keeping and leveling up so here are links to the weps followed by what they will become at lvl 300 Fine Longsword of Balance this is the only 4 turn bleeder i have ever gotten FINE LONGSWORD OF BALANCE Level: 64 -> 300 Attack Damage Multiplier: 38.2 Attack Accuracy Bonus: 24.84 Attack Critical Bonus: 8.09 Burden: 26.33 Interference: 18.19 STR: 18.75 DEX: 5.64 Proc Damage: 493 Fine Scythe of Balance <- most of my drops have low % 1 turn procs, so i was really happy when i got this as my first scythe FINE SCYTHE OF BALANCE Level: 61 -> 300 Attack Damage Multiplier: 61.59 Attack Accuracy Bonus: 15.63 Attack Critical Bonus: 9.17 Burden: 27.72 Interference: 15.39 STR: 19.71 DEX: 0.94 Proc Damage: 573 Fine Silk Cap of the FleetFINE SILK CAP OF THE FLEET Level: 50 -> 300 Attack Accuracy Bonus: 0.92 Physical Absorption: 6.03 Physical Mitigation: 1.46 Magical Absorption: 7.45 Magical Mitigation: 1.59 Evade Chance: 7.44 Resist Chance: 0.89 Burden: 4.15 DEX: 6.56 AGI: 0.94 i have no basis for comparison so i have no idea how good or bad these really are, they are merely the best of my drops. if someone has a "good" example of the same item at level 300 could you link to it so i know what to look for in stats.

For most of the weapons, you can check this page for max/min values found... the numbers are a little out of date as some of the weapon stats have been tweaked in recent HV updates, but it's a good place to start. Equipment NumbersFor Staffs and maging equipment (plus a few other types), check this thread - Lists both base and lvl 300 stats for comparison And in regards to your equipment, not really worth upgrading too much as you will be certain to find better equips along the way This post has been edited by Koshinator: Apr 13 2011, 16:16

Is there any reason at all to do grindfests rather than simply keeping around one piece of equipment and going into the item world over and over?
I know that the # of times you can go into an item world is limited but as of now I have not yet hit that limit (I run out of potions).
Is grindfest there just for when you hit your cap on the # of times you can go into item worlds, or does it have some benefits I'm not seeing?
Also, does haste make healing effects heal you more quickly, and can't that work against me if I am depending on, say... the effect of a healing potion, to keep me at full health as I get hit?

- Griendfest is for some cash, doing something silly, and for the lulz.
- Think of Haste as Bullet time in Max Payne; it make mobs slower... so your potion / regen will work at the same rate but you take less hit per turn since mobs move slower. If taking less hits mean you waste potions, then use it at lower HP.

Heavy armor is good for Item World, but for Arenas I found that it's better to combine a high block shield (get a better one, 25%+ block at least) with high evade Fleet Silk to increase your speed by dropping burden and to minimize the amount of times enemies successfully connect with you. Also be sure to always have Haste and Shield up, and use Weaken against uncommon enemies and enemies that you know are hard-hitters (Fire Fox, Tentacle Monster, giants, etc). I'd also get a rapier with a higher chance to Proc/crit because PA is where most of your damage is going to come from with rapiers. Also work on your Supportive and Deprecating proficiencies. When you get to the last enemy of an Arena, empty out your Magic Points on Weaken and Shield; also always run a Magic Training Montage when you step away from HV for 8 or more hours. Well, having Haste & Shield up should be no problem because of the Innate Arcana.^^ One thing I've noticed though, I normally have more problems with the custom monsters, they hit way too hard (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Just the last day I had a 160 crit from a custom monster -.- Makes me wonder why I'm still using Cure xD €dit: Evade Silk is Silk armor with a high evade stat, am I right? Or is it a special Item class? This post has been edited by Mephi-Dross: Apr 14 2011, 22:43

QUOTE(kawaiiLOLI @ Apr 14 2011, 15:25) I'd recommend the redwood owl staff (the third link). It's got an unusually good ether theft proc on it. I found that a good 2-turn ET really made a difference when I was around your level. It makes it dramatically easier to proc channeling, and you get more mana back. EDIT: Hey 250+ players: what's the deal with MagNet? Is it like Slow, but better? Does it stack with Slow? Also, how effective is Lifesteam? Does it tick for more or less than Regen II, in terms of healing? What about damage over time compared to Poison? This post has been edited by coredumperror: Apr 15 2011, 06:56

Yes you're right. I was talking about Silk armor with the Fleet suffix, which boosts evade--armor like "Average Silk Cap of the Fleet". I always aim for something with 4.00% evade or higher. ------------------------------------------------ I don't know where else to ask, but can someone please tell me if the following pieces of equipment are any good and worth leveling and using? Also, I'm working toward going Electric mage, so is it better to wear Elementalist gear, or when available, Mjolnir gear? Fair Gossamer Shoes of the ElementalistAverage Gossamer Gloves of the ElementalistFair Ebony Staff of MjolnirFair Phase Pants of Mjolnir (My first Phase drop ever.) I think I'm still too low a level to be getting good drops, regardless of the type and suffix. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

@ Mephi-DrossIf "play a mage" isn't sound like a good advice to you... read on. Use Fleet silks in Arena. Cast Weaken on Miniboss also helps. The effects of Haste is still probably too low to worth your mana at this point. And try to get better gear... I mean, really, you even have IA, which I don't... so sells a few Hath you have and buy something decent. A Shield 'of barrier' and Heavy 'of protection' is usually what you should get if you want to use these kind of gears. Hmm... Maybe I'll update my yard sale thread later... to help low LV people get something usable. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) @ n125The pants is not bad. Probably worth LVling; though I'm not really know for sure...

First, your INT is really far too low to consider going mage just yet. If you really want to try doing mage this early (which I'd suggest against, tbh. You don't have enough access to magic at that level, imo), you should re-balance your stats to favor INT and WIS over STR and DEX. And I'd suggest keeping your AGI and END even with your level. Also, before you think about going Mage, get some "of the Elementalist" Gossamer gear. Unless you have a strong bonus to your elemental proficiency, being a Mage is just an exercise in frustration.
