QUOTE(4126 @ Nov 23 2014, 10:07) hello experts
is it realy okay whether the TS bid in his own auction ?
If the equipment isn't owned by the auctionner, why wouldn't he be able to bid? Proxy auctions are far from uncommon.

If you're not doing Imperil in a Elemental mage style, then you're doing something very wrong. But then again, aren't you a Holy Mage? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I mostly use holy. From time to times, for grinding elemental prof and testing various builds, I play with cold/electricity without imperil. Some testing results showing that 1.8+ prof factor is alright, not really need to get 2.0. However, due to lack of good equipment for swapping, my testing result is some how biased. For arena, I do not really need to worry about defense. If you can stable alive with holy/dark, it would only be safer with elemental. For GF, even if imperils can save some turns/mp, it make me spending time to look at the monsters' debuff, it in turn making the grinding slower (and tiring). Interesting. Which element did you find performing better overall? Elec or Cold? QUOTE(Colman @ Nov 23 2014, 16:26) For arena, I do not really need to worry about defense. Exactly why I prefer 1H-Power-Warding for GF.

It seem elec is slightly better than cold. The overall chance of having a single monster with a lot of hp stand alone is slighter higher with cold than with electric. Again, both of the sets are not complete so it may be biased.

Hmm. There is a lack of supply for high end Cold armor pieces after all. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)

QUOTE(Colman @ Nov 23 2014, 01:52) Your is partly correct . As 50% off from 95% is 47.5%.
The benefit of prof equipment are : -lower mana cost -faster cast speed (thus less incoming damage ) -lower monster resist /specific mitigation ----you can have more stable damage across different classes of monsters . So that the chance of having a single nearly full hp monster that wasting your time and mp will be lower . ----it also allow no imperil grinding @PF if you are strong enough . PS: prof factor is equal to your prof/target monster's level . Peaked at 2.0
Thanks a lot (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) So to make sure I understand correctly, it is a % reduction of resistance so if I was to use a holy spell against FSM (0% holy resist) it would not matter if I have 0 holy prof or 1000 holy prof (with regards to specific mitigation reduction)? While if I used a wind spell on a level 200 FSM (95% wind resist) it would be 47.5% wind resist if I have 400 elemental prof (prof factor of 2)? If I have 200 elemental prof (prof factor of 1), I would have (1^1.5)/(2^1.5)*50% reduction=17.7% reduction which leads to 95% wind resist becoming (95%*(1-17.7%))=78% wind resist? Thanks.

Monster's Mitigation ranges from -100 to +100 (Including special monsters like FSM). You calculate the rest. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

If you use holy magic against 0% holy mitigation monster, your peak damage will not be increased by prof factor. However, as prof factor also reduce the resist chance. You can have a much better chance to land a 100% damage hit with 2.0 prof factor. Btw, 200 prof at your level is ~ 200/220 ~= 0.9 prof factor. Prof factor only work when it is >1. In general, it is useless if it is < 1.6. This post has been edited by Colman: Nov 23 2014, 14:26

Thanks. I was just using 200 as an easier to multiply number in my example. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

raise in proficiency depends on the number of hits that you inflict, so i guess to enter a match which implies enemies with the chance of regenerating themselves, like the last match of Trio and Tree or TT&T and not kill yggdrasil too soon, so the match will go on indefinitely also, doing matches with very resilient enemies quite often, like SG marathons or PF FSM. or again, hit-and-run GF This post has been edited by Scremaz: Nov 23 2014, 23:39

DW is dead. Is there any particular reason to raise it?
