Experts, i noticed theres is like a skill tab during battle can i place skills there? if not whats its use?

go to the settings pannel, you will find the quickbar slots where you can put some spells/skills to use more quickly in battle.

Skills and spells are automatically added to the Skillbook tab as your level and prof go up.
You also have a quickbar where you can put skills and spells you use often. Set those from your Settings.

No, that's for potions. Set those from the Battle Items tab.

An example
The ADB of this equip is 591.13 to me.

Scaled Stat = (1 + level / level_factor) * base_stat
=> 591.13 = (1 + 355 / 16.67) * base_stat
=> base_stat = 26.5131355772594

But 26.5131355772594 is a forged stat. To calculate the unforged stat:
Forged_stat = Unforged_stat * multiplier
=> 26.5131355772594 = Unforged_stat * (1 + 0.278875 * ln(0.1 * forge_count + 1))
=> 26.5131355772594 = Unforged_stat * (1 + 0.278875 * ln(0.1 * 5 + 1))
=> Unforged_stat = 23.819740307901377

And by looking up the Equipment_Ranges_Heavy#PowerLegs,
we can tell the unforged ADB is Exmax-0.9 (because Exmax = 24.71).

Hello experts, I just started HV not long ago and here are my stats:



I was playing on nightmare difficulty for the exp bonus and the challenge until i notice my proficiencies are falling WAY behind. How screwed am I and is there way to fix it?

Also, i have been going full light armor all the way till now, but i saw from other posts a mix of cloth and heavy armor would give much better stats? How is this possible? Wouldn't you loss the benefit for the armor abilities where you need to wear a full set of light armor?

Not having proficiency isn't too much of a problem at your level. Just be sure to stick to one style to make it go up as you level up.
Dunno where you read that about the mix cloth/heavy but no, sticking to one type like you did is better. (you probably saw the mix cotton/phase discussion, which is viable)

Don't worry too much about prof, because the chance of gaining prof depends on the prof/level ratio, ie if they fall behind they raise faster. So if you are doing well without prof, it's okay. It's pretty common for the first 150 levels.

Never ever mix different types of armor. Since 0.76, you only get bonuses from prof by having a full set of one type of armor plus the corresponding abilities slotted in. You can, however, mix leather with shade for example as they are both light armor.

INT is kinda useless for melee, it only raises SP a bit ike any other stat. You can set it very low. Even at 0 for now. Raise your WIS a bit, since it raises MMI and MP.

Try to find light armor with 4 PABs (STR/DEX/AGI/END) and weapons with 3 PABs (STR/DEX/AGI). For the first 200 levels, I recommend a mace of slaughter. You can use DW for the first 3 arenas or so and for RoB bosses. For DW, a Club of Slaughter and a Rapier of balance/nimble is recommended. If possible, use ethereal weapons, they have 0 burden/interference and hit much harder thanks to void damage + void strike.

Visit the Free Shop (read the rules before requesting). Always prefer buying from other players' WTS rather than buying from the equipment shop.

Scremaz returned my old IW10 power slaughter armor, any new players want to borrow is fine with me, can also borrow my Rapier 1 if need be and a MMax 2pab shield (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

You can't really use Heavy Armor with 2H/DW because you are missing out on a potential ~60+% evade (or block), at higher levels, monsters consistently hit extremely hard and you can't just tank it. That being said, if you are rich enough, you could probably make it work (but we're talking 1 million vs 100 million credits here).

Would you buy anything below exq? With freeshop giving high quality gear to 200 and below, I doubt there will be buyers. I mean, best bet is phase and power, but the answer is no.
