leather is a jack-of-all, particularly suggested for low levels imo. you may go to FS and ask for a full set of 4PAB exq leathers of protection. we should also have a mace somewhere. only my thoughts though (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

What about Leather armor suffixes Shadowdancer or fleet . I was suggested this brand and was fixated on this aspect ONLY and the rest is history .

So I used to play quite frequently then stopped for awhile. Apparently the game went through a massive overhaul. I used to do quite well on hell-nintendo now I have problems doing arenas on even hard. Always played as a pure mage. (for reference when I stopped playing cooldowns didn't exist. very different item stats etc) What should I do to update my character to not sucking now? Hopefully mage is still a viable class.

Scavanger : 41/50 9 level remains
Luck of the Draw : 21/25 4 level remains
Quartermaster : 13/20 7 level remains
Archeologist : 7/10 3 level remains
So could someone give me a chart of how much each level costs, or an easier formula to calculate?

Your primary attributes are fine, except for Strength and Dexterity, which should be swapped around. Maybe get some more Wisdom too.

Regarding your abilities, you need to drop Mind Control and Better Drain. You need to eventually pick up (in no particular order) SP Tank, Cloth Castspeed, Better Arcane Focus, Better Spirit Shield, Better Spark, Better Imperil, and Faster Imperil. Other abilities like Better Weaken, Faster Weaken, Better Silence, and Better MagNet are also nice to have.

As for your trainings, max out your Pack Rat and continue focusing on Adept Learner, Scavenger, Quartermaster, Luck of the Draw, and a little Archaeologist. Get Ability Boost as needed. Outside of Pack Rat, I wouldn't recommend putting a lot of priority on trainings if you need to spend your credits on something more urgent.

Your equipment is just plain outdated. You have the right idea - a Destruction staff and all phase with the same suffix, but it needs to be better. Go to the Free Shop and get yourself new equipment. If you're sticking with lightning, the staff should be an Exquisite+ Shocking Redwood Staff of Destruction/Mjolnir.

Unfortunately you'll still probably have a hard time on higher difficulties. Mage is just rougher-going at lower levels. A common recommendation is to hold off on maging until level 310, which is when the cool-down on Imperil can be completely removed.

Luck of the Draw 21 -> 25 = 18,371,540 - 6,801,035 = 11,570,505
Quartermaster 13 -> 20 = 20,275,727 - 2,562,022 = 17,713,705
Archeologist 7 -> 10 = 19,268,648 - 3,673,248 = 15,595,400

You need 11,728,423 + 11,570,505 + 17,713,705 + 15,595,400 = 56,608,033 credits.

Thanks for the info n125. I had no idea that thread existed. Hopefully the gear helps. I basically picked the drain and mind control because due to my level not much else was available. 150 is apparently the next huge teir when things open up. I sadly missclicked a few mastery points and lack the credits to redo them. Not really sure on the need for spirit tank though.
