It seems there's a going debate on whether switching to mage is really a necessity nowadays, which applies quite directly to my case, as I've been holding off on increasing STR and DEX stats right now in order to pump into END (which I'd need regardless of battle type) and a little WIS (more MP, which helps in either case).
Does this mean that it might not be a bad idea to continue down the melee path for now without worrying about wasting stat points? If so, what should I be focusing AP into magic-wise? I have level 5 Shadow Veil and Weaken, and have been looking into Poison/Haste, but are either of those efficient or worth increasing proficiency for? If Poison helps, should I be dumping EXP into INT just to get my magic rating up and increase its effectiveness?

Okay, here's a noob question... how do you link items from the game to here? I've seen it in all the shops, but can't seem to figure it out myself D:

I think he was more concerned - or at least additionally - with how to take the popup window that appears and make it an image within a post. Coincidentally, this is information I would benefit from having as well.

Function+alt+shift+print screen for a single window (so the equip screen only). Then upload to your post.

Fine Longword of the Battlecaster So I picked up this badboy while killing stuff in an item world run around. I was curious if this is any good for its level, and things that could make it better so I can get an idea of what to look for in equipment when deciding what should be Bazaar fodder. I know I've actively asked more questions in the past couple days than most, but I'm really looking to learn. Thanks a bunch everyone (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Proc damage is okay. Is leveling to 200 worth it? I don't think so, but you may think otherwise.

PommyN64:
Poison skill works nicely regardless of build.(in my opinion)
Vs anything stronger then a normal monster, Poison will help kill it faster, and will also reduce their Spirit and MP regeneration by 50%
And if you run into anything resistant (or even worse, immune) to your normal damage methods, poison works wonders too. (I usually poison undead if I encounter em on an arena or grindfest, take too long to zap em)

Is there a way of getting a specific type of item in a drop? Also, where should I battle for the highest drop rate? I haven't been getting much in the grindfest.

I see. And for Haste? Is it worth putting in the points for Arena use, especially since proficiency will increase its length and effectiveness? This post has been edited by PommyN64: Feb 24 2011, 11:14

I find Haste to be very useful for arenas. It and Shield are the two spells I always have active when running them. It shines when you're facing melee-resistant Monster Lab enemies which take a large number of hits to kill, or when you can get a couple extra PA-enhanced hits in on an uncommon because you are faster. Though, I have read that Haste isn't as useful at higher levels, due to Action Speed maxing out at 200 or something. This post has been edited by n125: Feb 24 2011, 10:20

Sounds like something to consider for the long run when resetting AP to put EXP points into MP Tank instead. In the meantime, though, I'll go ahead and fill those then!

I am not sure about you guys but I am finding that dual wielding a high bleed axe main hand and a high parry dagger off hand is starting to work wonders for my melee character.
Tried going 1h and shield and my damage was just so terrible that I was taking way to much damage even though I was dodging more hits.
All of the arenas that I can clear so far give me almost no trouble at all. I use maybe 1-2 average healing potions and maybe an average mana potion if I run into bad luck on the level 30 arena. I clear the level 30 arena on normal, but I can definitely see how being able to 1-2 shot 7-9 monsters at once would make the fights not only faster, but significantly easier.
I kinda feel like a masochist playing on my melee character when a magic character seems to be vastly superior. The difference in mitigation of damage from cloth to plate is very minor from what I can see, maybe its more noticeable at higher levels, but the ridiculous increase in burden on plate and the fact that u gain quite a bit of evade from cloth pieces makes plate seem kinda weak to me. If the differences were more noticeable in the 3 different classes of armor maybe melee would be more viable?
I wear all light armor at the moment, in which more than a few of them take off more damage per hit than the plate I see on the bazaar, plus I gain a bit of evade. I dunno maybe I'm crazy since it seems most people wear a combo of plate/cloth because light armor isn't that great?
Sorry for the massive wall of text, but I think I'm starting to get obsessed with this game, haha.

QUOTE I dunno maybe I'm crazy since it seems most people wear a combo of plate/cloth because light armor isn't that great? It's depend on what you have and how you play. I use all 3 types. I'm not using Heavy when using Niten though, since Katana is rather heavy. Gossamer / Phase are the norm for mage. QUOTE I kinda feel like a masochist playing on my melee character Tell me about it.

Try just Alt+Print Screen. I don't even have a key called "Function", and pressing the other three gives me this: (IMG: https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=7065.jpg)
