QUOTE(hitokiri84 @ Feb 22 2011, 08:50) I can't believe people continually fish garbage out of the bazaar just because it's a high level.
Hey don't knock dumpster divers, sometimes its the only place you can find what you are looking for (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I just got the shield spell and it seems unbelievably worthless unless I am fighting something that hits for like 10 damage which is almost nothing now, or is it more for when your fighting 9 mobs, which makes it more of a situational type spell.
How much damage does the shield spell actually block and does it block more with a higher proficiency?
Thanks, for any help on this.

Shield info: Physical damage absorbed = Base physical absorb x ( base multiplication factor + proficiency bonus ) Base physical absorb = 3, base multiplication factor = 1. Every 10 proficiency = multiplication factor +1. eg: 30 proficiency = 3 x (1+3) = 12 damage absorbed per hit. Stacks with scroll (-25% physical damage).
I didn't take it at the beginning, but it's essential for me now. Might've stayed longer as melee if I did. -12 damage with 9 mobs hitting you at once is a powerful thing.

Well, the dumpster divers can have a field day now. I dumped all that extra superior and DH crap from my last auction. Of course, they'll be paying 4-5 times as much had they just bought it directly from me.

Hmm.. so is it good to keep your stats at approximately = to your level, or is there a time when gouging one stat is more beneficial than keeping even?

I can only speak from a low level experience, but as melee, you want balanced melee stats (str/dex/agi/end), slightly lower wisdom, and int at about 1/3 the cost of wisdom. Your stats will trail your level by a couple points, but you'll have enough mana for support and healing to make up the difference.
As mage, you'll want higher int, slightly less wisdom, then keep endurance and agility from falling too far behind. Keep strength at 1/2 the cost of endurance and dex at 1/4 the cost of endurance for more shield rating.

200k from ~150 leftover pieces. I probably sold about 30 of them in the auction and store thread before dumping the rest.

Thanks, I'll keep my stats level for now and then start to specialize later when it starts to make the difference. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Edit: I'll throw up another question here: is there a way to tell what enemies are weak to what elements? I heard the vast majority is fire or elec weak, but is there a specific way to tell? Thanks! This post has been edited by Cessacia: Feb 23 2011, 02:40

Also another curiosity, I've thrown a lot of my credits into trainings and I still can't survive the level 12 arena, even with heals and pots. I get damaged for too much of my health to have the healing even count (from pots and my spell) when I get to the boss round.
I feel like I should have found some equipment items with my scavenger points, but so far I've had no such luck, the only thing I've found has been a pair of cloth pants.
These things on Normal at my level are hitting me for 24 damage a piece, kind of rough when you have 8+ things swinging at you, plus a boss, with only 265 health.
Is there a certain time to pop pots? I know they do healing per turn, but average pots just weren't kicking it for me.

I've been having same problem myself... even though I've got nearly 1k hp and 27.3% evade + 24.6% block + 8.9% parry, I still get hit a lot in normal mode, and lose a lot of hp in the process. I usually get an average of 80-120 damage per hit, so my HP goes down very fast in middle of mob, and can be more than my cure spell can recover. Often the only hp regen pot that can keep up with damage is Greater Health Potions or higher. For reference, I'm referring to first four arenas after graduation (I can't go any further), using raiper + shield combo. This is getting to be frustrating, to be honest. Also... What about when you're basically switching between mage and melee all the time? That's what I do. I do melee for arenas but mage for IW & GF. This post has been edited by lightshader: Feb 23 2011, 03:23

QUOTE if yer selling what kinda kevlar you got? Auction. Unless you contribute to the site in some way, you won't be able to afford. You can get a preview by searching for 4everlost's equip thread posts with keyword kevlar or dragon hide.

Thanks for the bestiary, almost forgot about the wiki site. As for equipment I'm swinging around that two-hander you helped me with, and I have a pair of fair cloth pants (of the fox, I think.) I haven't been finding anything else at all. No equipment has dropped for me, and I've thrown my credits at training and I misused some early on to buy a useless staff. I think so far I've just been abused by luck (or not so luck) of the draw. 21 levels and just one equipment drop, the rest has been various items that get put into leveling in the item world or left alone. Not certain how to handle crystals and scrolls and the like.
